Berlin, Aug 5 (Ians) The Chinese diving team swept all four synchronized golds on offer at the 2023 World Aquatics World Cup Berlin Super Final here.
Chinese pair Chen Yuxi and Quan Hongchan led after each round in the women’s synchro 10m, the first event of the tournament. The two-time world champions executed three dives that earned more than 80 points apiece to inflate their winning 362.76-point tally, 74.76 points ahead of runners-up Caeli McKay and Kate Miller of Canada, reports Xinhua.
“The Berlin Super Final is very important for us and we take it very seriously. But it’s a tight schedule after the World Championships, and we didn’t have much time to rest. Actually we’re not very satisfied with our dives today,” said 17-year-old Chen.
Chen paired with Quan to claim the World Championships title in the synchronized platform twice, and World Cup gold on many occasions, but the...

The Ben Affleck and Ana de Armas-starring Deep Water definitely feels like a throwback to a different time – one that specifically hit its peak before erotic entertainment was easy to access online. Erotic thrillers used to be a dime a dozen in the 80s and 90s, and they would often make a significant amount of cash at the box office, as audiences filled seats upon the mere suggestion that they would get to see notable movie stars doing salacious things to each other onscreen. But this type of project is now a very rare event in the mid-budget arena, and Deep Water has certainly got people reminiscing about the way things used to be.
Deep Water itself is helmed by Adrian Lyne, famous for the likes of 9½ Weeks, Fatal Attraction, and Indecent Proposal, and he shepherded it into fruition after a twenty year absence from the director’s chair.

That was a pretty impressive job of tying up loose ends.
A bunch of storylines came together well on NCIS: Los Angeles Season 10 Episode 22.
In short, Anna was found, Joelle returned and Nikita was rescued and brought home to his family.
All that, and Hetty scenes too.
That's a major plus, considering how most episodes have meandered since the Densi wedding on NCIS: Los Angeles Season 10 Episode 17.
It's nice to have a handful of conclusions, even if most couldn't be seen as definitive.
Best of all, some burdens finally got taken off of Callen's shoulders.
Foremost on Callen's mind was Anna, who broke out of jail with her cellmate, undercover Russian spy Kate Miller, on NCIS: Los Angeles Season 10 Episode 21. She was last seen flying away after Callen let her go.

With a seemingly endless amount of streaming options — not only the titles at our disposal, but services themselves — we’ve taken it upon ourselves to highlight the titles that have recently hit platforms. Every week, one will be able to see the cream of the crop (or perhaps some simply interesting picks) of streaming titles (new and old) across platforms such as Netflix, iTunes, Amazon, and more (note: U.S. only). Check out our rundown for this week’s selections below.
A Cure for Wellness (Gore Verbinski)
The asylum-based film is a fairly interesting mini-genre to deconstruct. These movies almost always deal with perceptions of reality, questions of the self, and an innate fear of those in positions of power who operate in worlds of the ethereal. The question of the protagonist’s madness is almost always central, and the uncertainty over whether their paranoia is unfounded or justified is...

“It’s very dirty, and I know dirty.” Near the end of Brian De Palma’s oneiric exercise in sleaze, Dressed To Kill, high-class prostitute Liz Blake (Nancy Allen) recounts a recurring dream where she strips in front of a phantom intruder before he puts a razor blade to her neck. It’s remarkably similar to the film’s first scene — a dream sequence where a showering Kate Miller (Angie Dickinson) vainly attempts to attract her shaving husband’s attention, only to be murdered behind a thin veil of glass.
This time, it’s notably described in real-time as Blake’s voice becomes shaky. She’s a women who’s used to sexual kinks, but this dream is something more confusing. It’s threatening, but also cathartic in the details.

Chicago – Chicago is a hotbed for new stage talent, and the growth of that creativity is generated in new theater works. The Artist’s Lab at Stage 773 is one such developmental program, and director Kevin Hanna is currently in residence to create a new three part musical production called “The Cowboy and the The Showgirl Cycle.” The first part will have its premiere at Stage 773 on February 11th, 2016 (details below).
“The Cowboy and the The Showgirl Cycle” is based on a familiar sight in any movie or TV program that is set at a Hollywood movie studio. In the background, there will always be some extras walking around, and inevitably it will be represented by the “cowboy” and the “showgirl.” The two characters in this cycle will be in three eras of movie making – the 1930s, the 1970s and 2010. The concept creator and director Kevin Hanna has gathered the writing,...

The Brood (1979)- Mommy knows best
David Cronenberg’s third horror film is his first truly great movie and also his first superbly acted film. The Brood’s ensemble is solid but Oliver Reed and Samantha Eggar stand out as maverick doctor Hal Raglan and his disturbed patient Nola Carveth. Nola’s estranged husband Frank (played by Art Hindle) teams up with Dr. Raglan in the film’s suspenseful climax. He confronts Nola while Raglan attempts to rescue Frank’s young daughter from a group of murderous deformed children.

July 25, 1980. That was the day Dressed to Kill opened in theaters across the country, and it marked the first of countless times I would see the movie projected on a big screen, on a drive-in screen, panned and scanned for home video, even interrupted and cut to ribbons for network TV. But I’ll never forget seeing it that first time, in a cavernous old movie palace in downtown Eugene, Oregon, its lush, complex, violently dynamic and meticulously choreographed images, all set to a Pino Donaggio score which reflected precisely those same qualities, thrilling me to my core. I left that theater buzzing, even if at first I wasn’t entirely sure how I felt about the movie-- it took me a few days and another screening or two to decide that the outraged cries of Hitchcock plagiarism coming from some circles were unwarranted. For me, Dressed to Kill is...

Criterion beautifully restores Brian De Palma’s early masterpiece, Dressed to Kill, his 1980 title often lumped in with a quartet of other films categorized as Hitchcockian riffs, criticized or celebrated for how they playfully exhume style, narrative and tone from iconic titles. Although it’s nearly impossible to discuss the film without an acknowledgment of its obvious homage, it’s also a strikingly original piece in its own right, one that most easily sidesteps the derivative trappings of the ‘anxiety of influence’ theory thanks to its complex design as a critique on rigid social constructions.
Kate Miller (Angie Dickinson) is an unhappily married housewife, saddled with husband number two, a man whose underwhelming lovemaking she describes to therapist Dr. Elliott (Michael Caine) as the root her problems. When her precocious teenage son (Keith Gordon) declines to go on a lunchtime museum trip, Kate goes alone, and becomes involved in a casual tryst with a stranger.

Any horror fan has lingering titles that they have not gotten around to watching yet. Typically, it’s just because of good old procrastination. Maybe a few vain attempts at watching it its entirety when it comes on TV, or maybe even going as far as renting it. It still may find itself in the Bermuda Triangle of your viewing habits. Forever stuck between the old favorites committed to memory, and the mish mash of CGI epics, kid’s movies, weekly shows, and whatever is in vogue that everyone’s watching at the moment. Most of us have been there or are there right now. This one is a major accomplishment for me, in that I finally gave it the time it deserves. Cross this off the list. It was never really lost. It’s just been waiting for me to come around all these years.

A porn star in the La adult film industry has been declared syphilis-free after a press release identified him as a potential patient zero in a recent syphilis scare.
Adult performer Clover received an inconclusive test result for syphilis on Saturday and immediately contacted his agent, according to a press release sent to The Huffington Post by the Licensed Adult Talent Agency Trade Association (Latata). Clover then produced a list of the actors with whom he worked since his last clean test, and the agency reached out to them, Latata said in its release.
Clover has since taken two separate tests -- including one that is more sensitive than a standard syphilis test -- that both found he does not have the infection, according to a statement sent to HuffPost Thursday by the Free Speech Coalition (Fsc), the industry's nonprofit trade association that oversees a database of all adult performers' Std tests.

Following the session with Dr Elliot (Caine), Kate silently seduces a stranger in a New York Art gallery, before going back to his place.

Throughout the week, we'll be presenting the Heroes of the Year, our list of individuals who made a major impact on the comic book movie community in 2012.
Kicking things off is Tom Hiddleston, who starred as the mischievous villain Loki in "Marvel's The Avengers." Honoring the "hero" is guest blogger and Hiddleston fan Kate Miller, one of the masterminds behind Project Wendy.
It may seem counterintuitive to consider a villain in the context of "Heroes of the Year." Yet although "The Avengers" owes much of its success to Joss Whedon’s brilliant screenplay and deft directorial hand, not since Darth Vader in the original "Star Wars" series has there been as charismatic and compelling an antagonistic portrayal as Tom Hiddleston's Loki — and the resulting impact on both the film and the genre is significant.
We've always had a soft spot in our hearts for our Tricksters. Charming and vain,...

The Film:
One thing that Brian De Palma was know for in the 1980s was his tendency to invoking the spirit of Alfred Hitchcock. Many of his movies from that decade were full of suspense with twists and turns along the way. If they were filmed in black and white, you’d think they were right of the 1950s and 60s. Dressed To Kill, starring Angie Dickinson, Nancy Allen and Michael Caine was no exception.
Dressed To Kill is an interesting movie to review because of the giant twist less than halfway through to movie. There is a murder that’s witnessed by a prostitute, Liz Blake (Nancy Allen of Robocop fame). After the murder, the woman seems to be following Liz everywhere she goes. Kate Miller (blonde bombshell Angie Dickinson) is seeing her psychiatrist, Dr. Robert Elliot (played to perfection by Michael Caine) at this time. That’s about...

Last week, Brian De Palma's ode to the black gloved killers and bare flesh, Dressed to Kill made its Region A Blu-Ray debut from Fox/MGM. I've provided a brief review below of the contents of the disc, but essentially, you're getting the 2001 DVD with a high definition upgrade of the unrated cut of the film. Three decades from its initial release, De Palma's film still packs a punch with several of its most notable moments, including the razor blade murder of starlet Angie Dickinson's Kate Miller character by a frustrated transsexual in the elevator of a Wall Street high rise, a tense chase through the New York subway system, and of course its double twists in the final act (triple, if you'd like to...

Release Date: Sept. 13, 2011
Price: Blu-ray $16.99
Studio: MGM Home Entertainment/20th Century Fox Home Entertainment
A murderous New York City blonde is Dressed to Kill.
We’re thrilled about the high-definition Blu-ray release of Brian De Palma’s (Scarface) sexy (and kinky!) thriller Dressed to Kill. The ever-so-stylish filmmaker was at the height of his visual powers when he made this 1980 movie. Not to mention that it stars Michael Caine (The Man Who Would Be King), Angie Dickinson (TV’s Police Woman) and Nancy Allen (Blow Out) — and the Blu-ray includes the film’s unrated cut.
The movie stars Dickinson as Kate Miller, a sexually repressed New York City housewife who seeks treatment from Dr. Robert Elliott (Caine). While secretly leaving a hotel after a one-night affair, Kate is mysteriously murdered by a tall blonde woman wearing dark shades. The only witness is a high-priced call girl, Liz (Allen), who becomes the killer’s next target.

I'll never forget it. The year was 1980, and I was watching TV with my parents. On came a trailer for Dressed to Kill. After it was over, my dad looked my mom straight in the face and said, "'Police Woman' Angie Dickinson naked? Get your coat! We're going right now!"
Should he still be here, I'm sure my dad would have the same kind of boner for seeing Ms. Dickinson in her birthday suit via Blu-ray hi-def. If only you had the chance, pop!

Ah, the 80′s back when John Carpenter was making killer genre flicks, Coca-Cola was cheap and De Palma was being toted as the next Hitchcock. You guys remember that? I sure do. De Palma has been one of my favorites, even when I was a young 7 years old, I saw The Untouchables and knew that the Racine apartment scene was something important on a technical level. He was one of the first directors that I started researching his prior catalog. Unfortunately, by the time I started getting into his work, his later films kind of fell apart. I digress. De Palma’s thriller Dressed to Kill is being released in an Unrated Blu-Ray via Twentieth Century Fox. Read beyond the break for the skinny.
