As the blast-off date of Christopher Nolan‘s hybrid sci-fi/cli-fi movie “Interstellar” approaches on Nov. 7, millions of fans have already been checking out the three trailers online and wondering what comes next. I've gone on a bit of a crash-course over the last few months reading up on the science behind Anthropogenic Global Warming. I just didn't know that much about it, the roots of the research and how long it had been a topic of interest among scientists.
I'm not a scientist. I only did middlin' in my science classes, but I've been a heavy consumer of popular (and not-so) science literature for decades. A lot of astronomy, psychology, biology and evolution... all things that interested me. It was tough to be a counselor or to do some work in HIV prevention without reading a whole mess of things about why things are the way they are.
Anyway, global warming has been one of those things I'd heard a bit about but didn't quite understand a heck of a lot of. Really, I'd only thought that we'd known and been looking...

Treehugger points us to this fantastic video from Peter Sinclair that explains the history, challenges, and potential future of plug-in electric cars--all in 10 minutes. If you're a renewable energy or Ev buff, the video won't tell you anything new, but it's a great intro to show anyone who wants to know how EVs and smart grids can successfully work in tandem. Sinclair has an optimistic take on our potential future, explaining at the end of the video that "if we make the right decisions, we could be on the verge of the most prosperous period in human history". Check out the video below.
