As much as we all love Christmas and birthdays, it’s probably for the presents – and the time that you get to spend with your loving family of course… but mainly the presents. When someone buys you a gift it not only means that they’re thinking about you but depending on what they buy you, it also means that they know you.
We’ve all been in a situation where you’ve had to put on your best Oscar performance when you’ve opened a gift expecting diamonds and someone got you socks instead. Of course there’s nothing wrong with socks, but they’re not exactly diamonds are they? Now this might come as a bit of a shock to some of you, but celebrities are also human beings too, and they receive some horrific gifts which are much worse than socks.
Some of them are truly creepy too.

Dakota Blue Richards has joined the cast of ITV's Endeavour as a regular character.
The former Skins and Golden Compass star will play Wpc Shirley Trewlove in the Inspector Morse prequel series opposite Shaun Evans as the title character.
Trewlove is described as a "thorough, determined and forthright" officer, who becomes a valuable member of the force and attracts the admiration of Endeavour.
Creator Russell Lewis said of the character: "Bright, capable and brave, Wpc Shirley Trewlove is a very welcome addition to the ranks of Oxford's Finest. While very much a young woman of the 1960s, Trewlove also evokes a very particular kind of timeless British heroine.
"The sort of clear-eyed, resourceful young woman one wouldn't be surprised to find behind the wheel of the ambulance in Ice Cold in Alex or keeping Robert Donat company across the moors in The 39 Steps. In Dakota we have found our perfect Trewlove.

Tumble has been dropped by BBC One.
The celebrity gymnastics competition - which was hosted by Alex Jones - will not return for a second series, the BBC confirmed to Digital Spy today.
"Whilst we are proud of Tumble and very grateful to everyone involved, we sometimes have to take difficult decisions in order to make room for new shows," a spokesperson said.
A BBC source also insisted that Jones is "very important" to the channel.
Tumble picked up an average of 3.3m across its six episodes, which aired in August and September this year.
Stars including H from Steps, Sarah Harding, Amelle Berrabah, John Partridge and Lucy Mecklenburgh took part in the competition, which was won by Bobby Lockwood.

Tumble: BBC One, 6pm
It's the grand final of the BBC gymnastics contest, and the remaining contestants will be pulling out all the stops to impress the judges.
Sarah Harding, Amelle Berrabah and H from Steps are all among the finalists - will it be a popstar that takes the crown? Or will Bobby Lockwood, Carl Froch and Lucy Mecklenburgh have something to say about that?
Doctor Who: BBC One, 7.30pm
The eighth series of the sci-fi drama has had its fair share of dark moments, but in tonight's Steven Moffat-penned instalment, the scares are unleashed good and proper.

The Tumble judges showed off their backflipping skills on Saturday night's show - but we now have an exclusive clear view of the stunt.
Louis Smith, Craig Heap and Sebastian Stella couldn't resist showing H from Steps how it was done at the weekend, but the spontaneous flipping wasn't caught by the cameras in time. Now, you can watch an unobstructed view below:
The boys rose to the challenge after Nadia Comăneci asked them to show how they should do it - but now producers are concerned she may try to "steal the limelight" from the celebrities taking part.
"Louis, Craig and Sebastien are always ready to outdo each other and when head judge Nadia challenged them, they wasted no time in getting up and doing a spontaneous somersault, which is certainly not something you'd see Simon Cowell doing," a source told Digital Spy.

If we had to go on a celebrity reality show, we have to say that BBC One's new gymnastics extravaganza Tumble sounds like the least threatening. Tumbling is what kittens do! It's all soft and lovely.
Well, some news has come in that has forced us to think again. Because H from Steps is in training, and he can't stop sharing some pretty gruesome injuries.
First, he tweeted this horrifying image of his bruised legs, adding: "These are bruises from training today!!!! ( excuse the angle!!! ) #ouch #tumble"
Sorry, H, but we don't think we can ever excuse that angle. We're still trying to figure out exactly what's going on there.
Next, we were 'treated' to a picture of a gash on H's hand. Admittedly, this is only really a slight graze, but it's certainly more of H than we ever wanted to see. Still, at least H was taking it all in his stride,...

Scarlett Johansson chose SodaStream over Oxfam, but do charities really need famous ambassadors?
Already preoccupied with the Syria crisis and the South Sudan crisis, the aftermath of the Philippines typhoon and growing conflict in the Central African Republic, Oxfam is confronted by a fresh global emergency, moreover one that is the subject of greater international concern: the replacement, at short notice, of the twice-voted Esquire Sexiest Woman Alive.
The departure for SodaStream, a company that produces machines to carbonate drinks, of Scarlett Johansson, until last week one of the charity's most treasured ambassadors, leaves a void in Oxfam's vital celebrity team. It's a void that must seem – unless Angelina Jolie can be made to jump ship from the Un – virtually impossible to fill. But even if Ms Johansson is strictly irreplaceable as a charity envoy, since nobody else can also be Woody Allen's "first option", current third-sector thinking dictates...

I recently re-watched Contagion, and i had a flashback to my original viewing of it… Many months ago I trekked to the local cinema with the wife for the perfect date movie – Steven Soderbergh’s Contagion. Sitting there in the ambient darkness, waves of trailers washing over me, something suddenly caught my eye. A family of two adults, and two young children, were making their way down the stairway and corralling themselves four seats in the lower corner of the room. Were they in the wrong screening? Lion King 3D was playing next door, maybe they’d gotten lost. Should I tell them? It would be irresponsible of me not to, right? No one (and I mean No One) wants to miss the opening of Lion King. Speaking on Sky Living's Steps Reunion, H admitted: "We were at Top of the Pops and I was sat on my own in a corridor. "I remember Robbie came over to me and he put his arm around me and said, 'It's time to leave', and I went, (more)...

Steps have made a triumphant return to the top of the UK album chart with their Ultimate Collection. The '90s pop quintet - individually known as Claire Richards, Faye Tozer, Lisa Scott-Lee, Lee Latchford-Evans and Ian 'H' Watkins - grabbed pole position a little under ten years after they announced their split. The Ultimate Collection is the recently-reunited group's third UK number one after their 1999 sophomore LP Steptacular and a previous Greatest Hits collection from 2001. Their Step One and Buzz records also cracked the top five in 1998 and 2000 respectively. The runner-up spot this week goes to Ed Sheeran and +, which advances three places, mid-week number one artists Evanescence settle for fourth with their self-titled third studio album, and previous chart (more)...

Steps have said that they believe there is a gap in the market for their brand of "happy pop". The 'Deeper Shade of Blue' group have reunited for a Sky Living series, which will see them attempt to put their acrimonious split behind them and decide if they want to work on new material. Speaking about their chances of chart success again, the fivesome were confident that there is still room for them. "There hasn't been anything like us for a long time, but pop is still out there," Claire Richards said. "Nobody really realises it's been ten years since we split up, which is good, because it means people haven't forgotten us and our music hasn't dated." Ian 'H' Watkins agreed: "There's definitely a place for pop, it's just a question of whether we can fit into the jigsaw. I wouldn't want (more)...

Tough questions are asked as Steps reunite for the first time since their acrimonious split in 2001. The pop fivesome are taking the first Steps towards a full reunion in a new four-part Sky Living series, which begins with the group trying to deal with the issues which led to members Claire Richards and Ian 'H' Watkins quitting. Steps Reunion sees the pair face two questions from their former bandmates, Lisa Scott-Lee, Faye Tozer and Lee Latchford-Evans. In a new promo, viewers get a first look at their reconciliation meeting, before which each member reveals how they moved on from the group and admit their unresolved issues with their time as a band.

Former ‘Dancing On Ice’ guest judge Angela Rippon is rumoured to have signed up to compete on the ITV show next year.
The 66-year-old star – who had a stint on the ice panel last year while Robin Cousins was working at the Winter Olympics – will take part in the celebrity skating contest, though people are already objecting to her inclusion, arguing she has an unfair advantage over the other contestants.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “This is like judge Dannii Minogue competing on ‘The X Factor’ or Arlene Phillips on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’. She’s got an unfair advantage.”
Celebrities who are so far believed to have been signed up for the new show include 90s hip hop star Vanilla Ice, ex-Atomic Kitten singer Kerry Katona, ‘Loose Women’ host Denise Welch and wine expert Jilly Goolden.

New single out August 29th and album to follow.
They later told their followers that they filmed the video for the track at the Lightbox Room at London’s Fire nightclub.

We can’t believe that the BBC actually put this five piece band together specially for the Eurovision competition. Individually they may be able to sing, but as a group they may actually have produced the worst musical moment that we have ever witnessed.
On tonight’s show they sang a Steps song, ( though they claim it was by Bananarama ) and we’ve never sworn so much at our television, not even in the most awful of X Factor auditions.
The only one who shone was the mousey bloke at the end but then the other guy dragged it straight back into the gutter. If this is some of the best talent in Britain, then we might just move to The States.

We’ve been doing Eurovision in Britain for many years now. But with the advent of reality television, what better way to decide who represents the country this year than to put it to a public vote? And that’s what’s happening on BBC One tonight – six acts will perform for our pleasure. Then we vote for the one we like the most. Simples.
