Chicago – Moe, Larry and Curly are three of the most popular names in the show business universe, and bringing them back to life in the new film “The Three Stooges” was a questionable risk. The re-imaging, with Chris Diamantopoulous, Sean Hayes and Will Sasso filling the trio’s roles, is a loving tribute that unfortunately veers in too many “Un-Stooge” like directions.
Rating: 3.0/5.0
What works immediately is the care and detail given the famous comedy team by the three leads stepping into the personalities. It was obvious that they wanted to make sure that the Stooge essence was honored, and that mission was accomplished. None of the three pushed the characters, they simply played them as faithfully as their talent could deliver. The standout was Chris Diamantopoulous’s Moe, who honored the character (and subsequently, the real man) so much that it felt like a time machine has transported the...

There doesn't seem to be a single pressing reason for the Farrelly Brothers to have made a Three Stooges-less movie titled "The Three Stooges." Bobby and Peter Farrelly's love of the Stooges is well-known, but they should have left well enough alone after "Dumb and Dumber," a superior and certainly easier to swallow Stooges homage. For starters, the three comedians in the Farrellys' new and more direct tribute's title roles just don't have any comedic chemistry. Geographically, the Farrellys' trio may be close-knit but beyond that, there's nothing to suggest that Sean Hayes, Will Sasso and Chris Diamantopoulos are an organically united group. It should be noted that there's also nothing categorically wrong with the Farrellys reusing their idols' routines. But if the actors playing the Stooges can't form a good, cohesive troupe of comedians, resurrecting Moe, Larry and Curly is pointless.

Nexia Holdings, Inc.’s newly formed foreign sales distribution company named Redline Entertainment, Inc. (Redline) has secured foreign distribution rights on 3 independent films. “Redline is off to good start. Nexia’s newly formed subsidiary was only formed a few months ago and we have already secured certain rights to distribute 3 independent films, excluding The Kane Files. Redline has the potential to generate significant revenues by assisting small film makers in obtaining distribution for their films. I encourage everyone to check out some of the trailers that are available online by clicking on the links below. I am excited about the additional streams of potential revenue Redline may bring to the table in 2011.”

If you happen to be a provocateurophile - one who takes great amusement from watching people publicly behave like deluded megalomaniacs – then Grass Roots is right up your alley. Created by and starring TV writer and producer Aaron Hilliard, it’s the political lackey/campaigner version of Curb Your Enthusiasm with some of The Office mixed in. The majority of the thus-far six episode series features Hilliard’s Miles doling out unsolicited and useless advice to cohort Harry (Kirby Heyborne, who in many ways steals the show as the Stan Laurel-esque sidekick). If you boil it down, Hilliard’s formula is as follows: Miles tells Harry how it’s done in the real world, as Harry reluctantly takes it in, Miles then figuratively bashes his boss or a prospective voter over the head with his hard sell while Harry meekly attempts to save them from Miles’ bull-in-the-China-shop schpiels, only...
