Seriously?" after I've told them to stop hitting each other nine times in a row and see one of them leaning over to hit another one. I remember once telling my younger sister that should couldn't just move into my apartment with me and start college early because 1. she hadn't finished high school yet and 2. high school is where we keep teenagers until they turn back into humans. I should probably extend that to say that middle school is where we keep changelings until they better figure out how to act like teenagers. Here's your Thursday night TV:

"Weeds" returns tonight and I've seen most of the first season of that show but not much beyond that. I know that Nancy is one of those characters on TV that people love to hate since her chosen profession keeps driving her and her family further down the road of reprehensible behavior yet they like to maintain some sort of air of superiority. Or at least that was the last I'd heard of the whole mess, has it changed any? Those of you still watching, are you just watching because you find Mary-Louise Parker kind of dreamy? Are you in the habit of mistaking Justin Kirk for the guy who played Sheriff Don Lamb in "Veronica Mars" and thus watching "Weeds" out of misguided loyalty? (I'm not telling you how long it took me to realize they weren't the same guy. Nope.) In any case, please feel free to discuss.

It's funny how Thursday night during the regular TV season is prime time and always packed with shows, but now that summer has started it's a wasteland. Thursday night used to be the night where I most keenly felt the lack of DVR in my life as I was frequently forced to make the choice of socializing with friends or watching my shows (particularly "Archer" thanks to the terrible fact that episodes didn't hit Hulu for a month). Now? Now most of my friends have departed for the summer and I'm left with a completely empty Thursday evening and basically nothing to keep me entertained. I blame all of you. Obviously. Here's your Thursday night TV:
8:00pm: "So You Think You Can Dance" on Fox
9:00pm: "The First 48" on A&E
"Boxing Gym" on PBS. This is a documentary about a boxing gym in Austin, Texas and the people who train there.

My job just keeps getting easier; more season finales tonight so there's less TV for me to list the further we inch towards summer. Of course, that means there's less to talk about, highlight and make fun of so we're about three weeks away from "Everything's stupid. Here's your damn TV" being the entire intro to this column. Anyway, I hope all you "Bones" and "Parks and Recreation" have your snacks lined up and your space on the couch cleared out. For those of you who are still in the hostage situation that is "Grey's Anatomy" well, I'll probably be there with you. And I'd like to wish everyone a happy Rapture or (more likely) a happy Saturday. I'm sure as shit not going anywhere, and I doubt many of you are either. Thanks to Jason Harris I'll be spending it at Exxxotica so I guess if this whole thing...

Last night the world got some extremely big news that I am not at All qualified to discuss which is really unfortunate since tonight's television offerings are duller than watching paint dry for the most part. Actually, I'm kind of eager for most of the current shows to end and the summer series to start because there's a few I'm actually interested in and they'll give me something new to talk about. Right now? It's like "Hey, it's Monday! That means 'House' is on! Again. Because I'm sure some of you still get excited about that, maybe." And "RuPaul's Drag Race" is over so I can't even be jealous of those of you who get Logo. At least until "Be Good Johnny Weir" comes back. Then I'll be breaking out the voodoo dolls. Yesterday's post featuring a picture of Prince William, the always lovely Kate Middleton, and a fetching hat got me a lot more comments that I usually get on these posts so I'm curious to know what did it; Wills, the future Princess Shinyhair, or the hat? Even though I'm not in a tizzy about the royal wedding (April 29th is also my last day of classes and the day my not quite a thesis is due so I'm more focusing on that than the wedding of two people I don't and likely will never know) I'm not above using underhanded tactics to bring more attention to my column because I have useful information for you! Kind of. Let me know what you want to see in your Pajiba After Dark header picture and I'll do my best to make it happen. Here's your Tuesday night TV:

Tonight features excellent TV for those of you who like Basketball, misery, or the WWE. For the rest of you, the television offers no respite from the many annoyances of Monday, like discovering that you forgot to set your alarm, that the shirt you wanted to wear needs to be washed, or that the large container of yogurt you bought so you could just put some in a little gladware container to take to work and cut down on the number of those stupid cups you throw away has fruit bits in it, which you hate. Ok, maybe that last one is a little bit specific to me, but you get my point. While I mentally reschedule the rest of my week around taking an extra five minutes to run my yogurt through a sieve before eating it (it's a texture thing, leave me alone) you can go ahead and...

Lately I've been seeing commercials for some of the new shows that are coming out this summer/next fall (never too early to start the ad campaign, right? Wrong.) and on one hand I'm excited that I'll have something new to write about for a brief shining moment before I reach the point that I don't have anything to say about it except "Hey, look, it's that shit again, some more." Also I'm having fun observing certain entertainment trends pass around from movies to television shows before everyone decides they're a bad idea and abandons them. Right now, we're in what I like to call the "Alien cycle" with the full on alien entries of "V" and the upcoming "Falling Lights" on TV as well as the possibly aliens but no one's really sure "The Event" which is still on for reasons I can't fathom. I think we're approaching the...

Today is both International Women's Day and Mardi Gras and as a woman (though not quite an International Woman yet, not sure how to go about that part) and a lapsed Catholic, that gives me two reasons to celebrate tonight. Or, wait, do you celebrate International Women's Day or do you sit around in quiet contemplation reading depressing articles like I'm pretty sure you're supposed to do on World AIDS Day? Because I feel like if you are a woman-person (as I am) or are a man who has aligned himself positively with woman-people (in that you're a believer in gender equality and not in the "so women can see how good they really have it" not actually friendly to women way, like in the "people are people and should all be treated with the same amount of respect and consideration until they prove themselves to be a utter waste...

Jennifer Aniston has definitely grabbed attention with her first viral video for Smartwater. In her attempt to create the ultimate viral video for the product's endorsement, the "Just Go with It" actress tries out every viral trick on the Internet and markets the commercial as "Jen Aniston's Sex Tape".
In the nearly three-minute clip, the 42-year-old actress first seeks advice on how to promote Smartwater from YouTube sensation Keenan Cahill. "I can't just tell you that SmartWater is the smartest, best tasting water that's out there. I have to make a video, apparently, that turns into a virus," she then explains.
Trying to convince people to drink Smartwater, Jennifer then brings in a variety of Internet memes from puppies to dancing babies with the help of some "Internet boys". She also tries to teach a parrot how to say "I love Smartwater", but gets mocked for her "Rachel" haircut, and...

Part of late night show Chelsea Lately’s appeal is the seeming lack of effort involved by the people producing it: Chelsea Handler has a hard time reading the prompter and knows it, Chuy the Nugget recites poorly written jokes but makes them funny by mangling them, and the roundtable comedians acknowledge that they’re part of something delightfully slapdash. To me, the show is best when I put as little effort in watching it–it works well as background noise while I’m cleaning, reading a magazine, or playing Angry Birds. After Lately, the new behind-the-scenes pseudo-reality series that...

If we didn't know any better, we would think Chelsea Handler could be on the verge of getting her own television network. She's got Chelsea Lately. There's also the NBC sitcom being developed about her life. And tonight? The funnylady premieres After Lately, a new pseudo-reality series on E! about working at, well, Chelsea Lately. I caught up with four of the stars of the new series, Lately writers Brad Wollack, Heather McDonald, Sarah Colonna and Chris Franjola, the other day to talk about being abused by Ms. Handler, working long hours and whether their boss got her good pal Jennifer Aniston to appear on the show... Any show that starts off with the phrase "This is my staff. They're idiots," is alright by us. And we certainly wouldn't expect anything less from the team behind Chelsea Handler's hit late-night show, "Chelsea Lately."
"After Lately" premieres this Sunday (Mar. 6) on E! and gives us a peek into the "Chelsea Lately" offices, which are clearly not for the faint of heart.
Show writers Brad Wollack and Chris Franjola, who also star on the new show and often sit on the "Chelsea Lately" round-table, tell Zap2it that the semi-scripted comedy could be considered "groundbreaking."
"Not to toot my own horn, but it's really funny," Franjola tells us. "I don't like to use the term groundbreaking, but... no one's done anything like this before."
Each show will follow a 30-minute story arc in which the staff-members reenact some of the craziest behind-the-scenes shenanigans that they've encountered over the years.

Just one thing concerns me about the upcoming NBC series based on Chelsea Handler’s best book to date, 2008′s Are You There, Vodka? It’s Me, Chelsea: I’m worried that the focus group-approved Chelsea will turn out to be a perky, hysterical, and rom-com-y character, instead of the awesomely mean, promiscuous, and lazy Handler we get from the books. I remain cautiously optimistic, though, since Handler will executive produce the show — and because her books are so freaking funny. So, as a Handler fan, I give you a few deliciously mean and hysterical chapters from Vodka that I really,...

Since I'm graduating from graduate school soon (that always looks weird to me), we're fast approaching the day I will need to find a real job and I'm thinking I won't like that since right now at the top of my list of "things I want in a real job" is "nap time" and I don't know of any workplaces that allow that. Even when you're a preschool teacher I think you're supposed to stay awake while the little ankle-biters sleep so you can make sure none of them punch each other or steal your wallet or whatever trouble small children are getting up to these days. At that age most of what I did when I was left unsupervised involved ferreting out inappropriate reading materials and climbing things. Good times. Any suggestions other than winning the lottery? Or becoming a trophy wife? Thanks. Here's your Wednesday night TV:
