The Group B final took place on “The Masked Singer” Wednesday, May 1 on “The Soundtrack of My Life Night.” After singing their hearts out for panelists Robin Thicke, Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg, Ken Jeong and Rita Ora, Beets advanced to a Battle Royale against Gumball, but fell short and got eliminated from the competition. The root veggies with golden pipes were revealed to be award-winning “American Idol” alum Ruben Studdard and Clay Aiken. Watch their unmasking above.
“It’s been amazing. We had a good time,” Ruben told host Nick Cannon during their unmasked interview. “It was a lot of fun. The audience was amazing.” The panelists could barely pick their jaws up off the ground after they all failed to guess this dynamic duo. “We loved being compared to some of the people you guessed,” Clay said. “They guessed Boyz II Men! We love that.” Ruben slipped in, “Who don’t love Jodeci?...

Spoiler Alert: Do not read ahead if you have not watched Season 11, Episode 9 of “The Masked Singer,” “Group B Finals: Soundtrack of My Life Night,” which aired May 1 on Fox.
For years, the panelists on “The Masked Singer” have thrown out names like Corey Feldman, Ruben Studdard and Clay Aiken while trying to figure out what celebrities were disguised on stage. This week, those names finally became true.
“The Masked Singer” revealed the latest celebrities to be revealed on Wednesday night’s Group B finale, and it was Feldman as the Seal and Studdard/Aiken together as the Beets.
“For about 25 years, there was this kind of dark age where nobody really wanted to admit that my music was a real thing or that it existed or that I was doing it on a full capacity,” Feldman told Variety. “It was kind of overlooked and ignored for a long time.

With the Group B Finals just hours away (Fox, 8/7c), it’s time to make our final guesses about another one of The Masked Singer‘s secret celebrities. In fact, let’s make it a twofer this week.
That’s right, we’re talking about this season’s nutritious, harmonious duo — the Beets! Like the judges, we were also stumped when they first sauntered onto the scene back in March. Heck, at one point we even thought that Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele might have been masquerading as the pair of root vegetables.

The new episode of The Masked Singer saw four new competitors take the stage. One unmasking occurred as Afghan Hound was unmasked as Savannah Chrisley after losing the Smackdown to Gumball. However, the two competitors didn’t need to worry about that final round. In reality, it was three, as Beets is this season’s first duo competitor.
Here is a look at Beets and who we think this duo is on The Masked Singer.
Beets On The Masked Singer
The Beets came out as a duo and sang the song, “Home” by Michael Buble. Their performance was well-received and they moved on to the next rounds without worrying about being unmasked this week. When Nick Cannon asked them who they liked from The Wizard of Oz, they said Dorothy and Toto, thanks to their loyalty and friendship.
As for their clue package, they said “Home for us has been wherever we’re together.

“The Masked Singer” has showcased some memorable duos over the years, beginning with the Snow Owls in season 4, who turned out to be country music legend Clint Black and his wife, actress Lisa Hartman Black. This season a pair of pals are performing as Beets.
They took to the stage for the first time on the March 13 episode and won over the audience and judges Ken Jeong, Jenny McCarthy, Rita Ora and Robin Thicke with their cover of the Michael Buble hit “Home.”
Beets are two men, each of whom has a distinctive sound but whose voices blend together so effortlessly. It was no surprise when they revealed, “We’re the best of friends and we’re pretty good co-stars too.” That latter phrase led two of the judges down the wrong path with their guesses of Will Arnett & Jason Bateman (Rita) and Steve Martin & Martin Short (Robin). Ending the year in signs is the hilarious, adventurous, sharp-tongued era of Sagittarius.
There’s truly nothing like them. They are quirky, mysterious and full of life. While they naturally grab the attention in the room, they feel most comfortable when they’re in their lonesome.
Sagittarius is the jack-of-trades sign; the sign that takes up space in every all industries — whether they be an actor, comedian or a bus driver — their versatility allows them to do it all. And that flexibility helps fuel their “I’ll try anything once” mindset. To them, what is life if you’re not living it to your fullest? The only thing you have to beware of is their slick mouth. Between Sagittarius, Virgo and Aries it’s hard to tell which sign is more brutally honest. Truly, to know Sagittarius is to love them. And if you don’t love…it doesn’t...

It’s that time of the year again. Mariah Carey has been defrosted. “Black Friday” sales seem to last for weeks. Last-minute treks to the gym fail to absolve your guilt over that third slice of pecan pie. Unfortunately, we’ll also have to endure a litany of ill-conceived and poorly executed Christmas songs that are inexplicably resurrected every year, and will likely be until time immemorial. Here are 15 of the absolute worst offenders. Apologies in advance.

The doctor is in … the Michigan Senate race. Actor Hill Harper is setting his sights on politics.
The Good Doctor star on Monday announced he is running for Michigan’s open U.S. Senate seat, challenging U.S. Rep. Elissa Slotkin for the Democratic nomination.
In an interview with the Associated Press ahead of the announcement, the actor, who owns a home and a coffee shop in Detroit, described himself as a small-business owner, union member and activist and explained how not being a “career politician” would give him an advantage in Congress. “It’s not about party. It’s about people feeling represented,” Harper said. “And being an independent voice in the U.S. Senate is something I believe Michiganders want right now.”
Harper has had a 30-year career in television, co-starring in series such as City of Angels, CSI: NY, Covert Affairs, Limitless and Homeland. He has played Dr.

Hill Harper is joining a crowded field of candidates seeking the Democratic nomination in Michigan for an open U.S. Senate seat.
Harper, regular on The Good Doctor and previously part of the cast of CSI: NY, said in his campaign announcement, set up as if he is delivering a message to his son, that “at the core of too much of this are politicians in office that don’t really care about people.”
“I believe that our government should work for the people, be a force for good, and protect our freedoms, and that won’t happen if we keep electing the same type of people to office.”
We can all feel it: D.C just isn’t getting things done for people.
We need representatives who'll take on special interests, get money out of politics, and make our government work for all of us.

Katy Perry Makes ‘Incredible’ Transformation Into Disney Superhero For ‘American Idol”s Disney Night
Katy Perry channeled her inner Disney supermom powers for Sunday’s special themed episode of “American Idol”.
For Disney night, the singer decided to dress up like Elastigirl (a.k.a. Mrs. Incredible) from “The Incredibles”.

Katy Perry doesn’t mind taking the internet by storm! Even when she doesn’t actually mean to.
Perry was in England earlier this month for the grand coronation ceremony for King Charles III — where she and Lionel Richie performed at the Coronation Concert. However, one moment went viral inadvertently when she couldn’t find her seat for the grand occasion inside Westminster Abbey.
“Well, I just want everybody to know, thank you so much for your concern,” Perry deadpanned while speaking with Et’s Denny Directo following Sunday’s new American Idol. “I found my seat.”
The pop superstar looked stunning in a lilac-colored ensemble, arriving with British Vogue Editor Edward Enniful at Westminster Abbey on May 6. But as she entered the church ahead of the historic ceremony, Perry was spotted wandering around as she struggled to find her seat.

On May 21, 2003, 38.1 million viewers watched Ruben Studdard and Clay Aiken battle it out to become the winner of season two of “American Idol.” When Ryan Seacrest opened the envelope, he proclaimed, “After 24 million votes, the winner of ‘American Idol’ 2003 is… Ruben Studdard!” Aiken was not surprised — he saw the name on the card before Seacrest read it out loud.
Studdard and Aiken went on to have successful careers, starting with their debut albums, which both topped the Billboard album chart.
Twenty years to the day of the season two finale, Studdard and Aiken will return to the “Idol” stage for the season 21 finale to perform one of the songs they are singing every night on stage for their 20th anniversary tour. ABC’s American Idol 2023 has already had its ups and downs. The season might have some of the best singers yet, but fans have also seen a few jarring forfeits midseason. Two competitors quit during Hollywood Week ahead of Showstoppers. Here’s who left — and here’s the one competitor who nearly quit before returning.
Why did Sara Beth Liebe quit ‘American Idol’? Sara Beth Liebe and Clay Aiken | ABC/Eric McCandless

Any competition must have rules, and American Idol is no exception. From the time contestants audition all the way to the season finale, they must agree to and adhere to a set of rules in order to keep things fair and avoid controversy (although American Idol has had its share of controversies over the years). A handful of contestants have been disqualified in the past for breaking these rules. Here are some examples.
Luke Bryan, Lionel Richie, Katy Perry, and Iam Tongi on ‘American Idol’ | Eric McCandless/ABC ‘American Idol’ contestants must be within the age limits
The minimum and maximum age requirements on American Idol have changed over the years. Idol used to be open to anyone between the ages of 16 and 24. Then, the age range opened up, so anyone between 15 and 28 years old could audition.

Katy Perry and former “American Idol” contestant, Sara Beth Liebe, appear to be on good terms after Liebe expressed last month that she felt hurt by Perry’s “mom shaming” comment during her audition.
In fact, during Sunday’s episode, Perry rallied for Liebe as she tried to convince the singer multiple times to stay in the competition as she struggled with wanting to go home to be with her three young children. The 25-year-old ultimately chose to quit the competition despite Perry’s efforts.
“Sara Beth, I know life is scary,” the “Teenage Dream” singer told the mom of three. “I also know that it’s easier to walk away than to be rejected. But then I also know that you lose out on your fullest potential and I know that you love your family for your kids. I know that as a mother. But remember, self-love is just as big as motherly love.
