Cedric the Entertainer was not originally booked as the entertainment for the (faux) Bowl & Spoon Awards in Jerry Seinfeld’s (faux) Pop-Tart origin story “Unfrosted.”
Seinfeld originally wanted one of his best — and oldest — buddies from standup to shoot the gig, complete with a sendup of an unforgettable moment from the 2022 Oscars.
“Chris Rock was going to be the emcee of the Bowl & Spoon Awards,” Seinfeld told Dana Carvey and David Spade on their “Fly on the Wall” podcast episode. “We shot that right after the Will Smith slap, and I was gonna have somebody come up on the stage and have Chris punch ‘em out as they got there.”
“And then Chris wasn’t— he wasn’t up to perform, he was still a little shook from the event,” he continued. “But that was what that scene was going to be, but Cedric saved the day.”

Dern takes on the role of Dr. Melinda Rogers, the Monsanto Company’s chief toxicologist, who testifies with certainty that Roundup is safe.

Glen Powell is a worker. He’s currently on an early 2000s Colin Ferrell/Samuel L. Jackson/Morgan Freeman run where he’s seemingly in everything. The breakout star of Top Gun: Maverick, who has two movies coming out this summer — Hit Man and Twisters — was also recently reported to join Margaret Qualley and Ed Harris in the thriller Huntington for writer/director John Patton Ford. Plus, he has stated that he and his Anyone But You co-star Sydney Sweeney are currently looking for more projects to star in after they capitalized on their on-set romance speculation.
The Hollywood Reporter is now confirming that Powell is in talks to star in the next movie from sci-fi blockbuster director J.J. Abrams. According to THR, no deal has yet to be made and there is no word on what the plot will be. However, it is also reported that this film will...

Glen Powell has been officially announced as the lead in Monsanto, a legal drama whilst also being linked to an upcoming JJ Abrams project.
Glen Powell seems to be at the top of every casting director’s wish list when it comes to constructing a film ensemble. As it stands, we’re not even halfway through May and we’ve already learned that Powell will be starring in Huntington, an A24 revenge thriller with Margaret Qualley. That’s on top of the announcement last month that he would be starring in Edgar Wright’s planned adaptation of The Running Man.
Two announcements in the space of a month seemingly isn’t enough for Powell, though. Now two announcements in a day? That’s more like it.
The first project is confirmed as happening. It’s called Monsanto and is a legal drama that will co-star Laura Dern and Anthony Mackie.

Sweeney is set to play Christy Martin in a film that will be directed by War Machine’s David Michod. The project is set to go to market at Cannes next week.
Following the commercial success of their 2023 romantic comedy, Anyone But You, both Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell have been building their careers based on the perception within Hollywood that they can now ‘open’ a movie. Selling a movie based on star power continues to be important in the kind of mid to low-budget films that Sweeney seems intent on making: her recent nun-centric horror flick Immaculate was reportedly made for just $9m and as well as being a lot of fun, the film made that back and more during its theatrical run.
According to World Of Reel, one of Sweeney’s next projects will also see her put in another performance where she has to run a physical and emotional gauntlet,...

After producing the upcoming documentary “The Blue Angels,” J.J. Abrams and Glen Powell are in early talks to team up for a new movie, with Abrams eyeing Powell to star in his next directorial effort.
Deals have yet to close, but in the aftermath of “Top Gun: Maverick” and “Anyone but You,” no one’s career has been hotter than Powell’s, who continues to garner interest from big-name filmmakers and studios.
There’s no telling when this project would fit into Powell’s jam-packed production schedule. He’ll next be seen starring in Netflix’s “Hit Man,” which he also co-wrote with director Richard Linklater, but he’s also set to star in Edgar Wright’s “The Running Man” reboot for Paramount. Sydney Sweeney is getting in the ring.
The breakout from, well, basically everything she’s done lately is set to play boxer Christy Martin in an upcoming biopic directed by David Michôd (“Animal Kingdom”). Insert your own joke here about being a knockout. The script for the untitled project was written by Mirrah Foulkes and Michôd.
Martin was the most successful female boxer of the 1990s. She signed with Don King and is the only female boxer to appear on the cover of Sports Illustrated. Martin became welterweight champion — but that was about the end of the good things in her life. Christy was physically abused by husband Jim Martin, who was eventually convicted of attempted second-degree murder with a firearm and sentenced to 25 years in prison. Following our first glimpse of new disaster movie sequel Twisters during this year's Super Bowl, the second official trailer for the film has now touched down online, featuring yet more wind-powered destruction facing off against Glen Powell's nuclear-level charm. Have a look:
Directed by Minari's Lee Issac Chung, Twisters introduces us to Kate Cooper (Daisy Edgar-Jones) a former storm chaser who, following a tragic twister encounter prefers to do her tornado tracking from the relatively safety of a screen in New York.
Yet because she still holds out hope for her theories on how to reduce or even wipe out twists, she's lured back to storm country by pal Javi (Anthony Ramos), who has a groundbreaking new tracking system he wants to test.
And that brings her into contact with cocky, reckless social media superstar storm chaser Tyler Owens (Powell), who never met a twister he didn't want to track down.

“I was drawn to this contemporary David vs. Goliath true story because I found it dramatic, moving, quite funny and of critical importance in today’s world,” said Hancock. “My ambitions are to deliver a smart, thoughtful and...

Hugh Grant is one of the most celebrated actors in Hollywood, and his perfect combination of wit and charm only makes it more understandable why. Needless to say, his very charming personality and physical features are also the reason why a lot of the roles he has donned have been in rom-coms. But even through those rom-coms, Grant has displayed quite a bit of action.

However, one time, this display of action in a similar ruthless manner as Tom Cruise almost ended up killing him. This happened in the iconic film that set him up as the King of rom-coms and is still regarded as a masterpiece, Four Weddings and a Funeral. But that isn’t the only surprising fact, because Grant was actually never the first choice to play the protagonist in that movie!

Fire tornado. That’s all we’ll say.
Here’s the new Twisters trailer:
Our original story follows:
12th February, 2024: One of the summer blockbusters that made it through the strike-affected times of last year without any further delay? That’d be Twisters, the sequel to the huge 1996 hit movie Twister. That’d be the one with all the wind, and the flying cow. You remember, right?
It’s taken decades to get to this point, but this summer, we get a sequel to the film. It’s cunningly going by the name of Twisters,...

"We've never seen tornadoes like this before. And we need your help." Buckle up, cowboys!! Time for a wild ride. Universal Pictures has debuted the second official trailer for Twisters, arriving in theaters in July this summer. Yep, after a 28 year wait, they've finally, finally made a sequel to the awesome natural disaster movie summer hit Twister from 1996. It's made by the director of Minari previously. This summer, the epic studio disaster movie returns with an adrenaline-pumping, seat-gripping, big-screen thrill ride that puts audiences right in direct contact with one of nature’s most wondrous—and destructive—forces. Twisters has an exciting new cast, lead by Daisy Edgar-Jones, Glen Powell as a reckless tornado tour guide operator, and Anthony Ramos, along with Nope's Brandon Perea, Sasha Lane, Daryl McCormack, Kiernan Shipka, Nik Dodani, and Maura Tierney. The plot again seems to be – what if some people get way too obsessed...

Universal has unveiled a new trailer for Twisters, its upcoming sequel to the 1996 disaster thriller starring Helen Hunt and Bill Paxton. The new spin on the franchise (pun very much intended) features a cast of rising stars including Daisy Edgar-Jones, Glen Powell, Anthony Ramos, and Kieran Shipka, as well as Superman himself, David Corenswet, and TV on the Radio’s Tunde Adebimpe.
But of course, the real stars of Twisters will be the tornados wrecking havoc — including one that quite literally catches on fire. Watch the newly revealed trailer below.
Twisters, directed by Lee Isaac Chung, is set to open in theaters on July 19th, 2024.

Being from the Midwest myself (and even facing tornado warnings in the past few weeks), it seems that the severe storms will be hitting no matter what as the spiritual sequel to Twister touches down in theaters this July. This year has seen some crazy tornadic activity for states like Nebraska, Iowa and Missouri. However, Lee Issac Chung’s Twisters is taking them to a whole new level. Universal Pictures has just released the new three-minute trailer for the summer thrill ride, looking to outdo any of the cyclones that Bill Paxton and Helen Hunt encountered in the 1996 original. This time Daisy Edgar-Jones partners up with the “Tornado Wrangler,” played by Glen Powell.
The official synopsis reads, “Edgar-Jones stars as Kate Cooper, a former storm chaser haunted by a devastating encounter with a tornado during her college years who now studies storm patterns on screens safely in New York City.

It's been 28 years since Jan De Bont's "Twister" ripped through theaters and whipped up a $496 million worldwide gross. In the meantime, it's become a weekend cable mainstay, where viewers can tune out its wafer-thin plot and simply enjoy the foul weather spectacle. It's far from a classic, but its visual prowess is undeniable, and its colorful cast of storm chasers led by Bill Paxton and Helen Hunt seem to be having a ball. Any film that includes Philip Seymour Hoffman, Alan Ruck, Jami Gertz, Todd Field, and Lois Smith is bound to be fun on some level.
So why has it taken so long for Universal to make a sequel to the second-highest-grossing film (domestically) of 1996?
"Twisters" didn't exactly have a stormy development process, but it did go through a couple of iterations over the last four years. Joseph Kosinski was attached to direct in early 2020. When that fell through,...

The 1998 “Seinfeld” finale drew 76.3 million viewers to NBC, which made it the fourth-most-watched series finale in TV history. Jerry Seinfeld’s “Unfrosted” opening weekend on Netflix was not that, but it was number 1 on Netflix in its debut, notching 7.1 million views on 11.3 million hours viewed.
The (mostly fiction) comedy film about the invention of the Pop-Tart wasn’t quite a hit with critics (to say the least), but it so far has popped with audiences, probably in part because of the obscene amount of press Seinfeld did leading up to its release.
“Unfrosted” beat out Sony rom-com “Anyone But You” in views, but not hours viewed — the Glen Powell and Sydney Sweeney flick is eight minutes longer than Seinfeld’s. The Kellogg’s triumph also unseated Zack Snyder’s “Rebel Moon — Part Two: The Scargiver,” which is now on the English Films Top 10 List for its third straight week. The...

From nuns and handmaids to webslingers and oversexualized teens, Sydney Sweeney has done a fantastic job in her decade and a half of acting.
While she has been dubbed a sex symbol, that title doesn't even begin to define the actress's range of skill when it comes to dramatic roles.
Having amassed 22 awards nominations and securing three wins, primarily for her breakout role in Euphoria, the actress has become a mainstay in the entertainment industry.
Though she's been acting since 2009, it wasn't until recently that she started blowing up the news circuits with her career-defining performances.
One thing that can be said about the actress is that she takes every opportunity to elevate her characters as far as possible.
Here, we've assembled a set of Sweeney's most notable television and film roles. From comedy to horror to gritty drama, the actress is not limiting her role choices.

What is it like to juggle the bright lights of stardom with the beautiful chaos of family life? Hugh Grant, in a conversation with The Undoing co-star Nicole Kidman, once shared a more intimate view of this very balance—or, sometimes, the lack thereof.
The Maurice actor, 63, has to stay away from his beloved kids in London, whom he once described to People as “the nicest thing that has ever happened to me”, while filming David E. Kelley’s HBO thriller series in New York City. Despite the enticing opportunity for five months during the 2019 production, Grant quickly realized that distance did not make his heart grow fonder, but rather, accentuated a profound sense of missing out.

“Huntington” is a revenge thriller that follows Becket Redfellow (Powell), the “heir to a multi-billion-dollar fortune who will stop at nothing to get what he deserves… Or what he thinks he deserves.”
Ford will direct “Huntington” (or whatever it is titled by then). He already wrote the original screenplay, which was inspired by the film’s financier Studiocanal’s “Kind Hearts and Coronets,” the classic 1949 crime film starring Alec Guinness, who famously played eight different roles in the film.
