After a long and grueling year, complete with a global pandemic to mix things up, the 2020 election is finally here. Nov. 3 marks the beginning of the end of this presidential election cycle — how long that ending will go on is anybody’s guess — but this really is it. The main event. While there will certainly be no shortage of coverage options on Tuesday night, not many of them will be in Spanish. But Spanish-speaking folks will be able to stream live coverage of the election on Noticias Telemundo.
On the big day, Telemundo’s “Decision 2020” live special coverage starts with a special edition of Telemundo’s morning show, “Un Nuevo Dia,” anchored by Nicole Suarez. Telemundo viewers are about to see a familiar face in a new role.
Vanessa Hauc, a veteran correspondent at the NBCUniversal-owned Spanish-language network, will take over as weekend anchor for Telemundo Weekend News, starting Saturday. She takes over from Julio Vaqueiro, who was recently named anchor of a new late-night newscast that is being launched as part of a broader initiative to cover the coronavirus outbreak.
The move illustrates how quickly some news organizations are working to reorient themselves as they face the tough task of covering a fast-changing news cycle where accurate information is of paramount importance to consumers. Telemundo has also announced extended news segments centered on coronavirus news for its daytime schedule.
“Our community is relying on us to keep them provided with information,” says Hauc, who served as a moderator during NBCUniversal’s recent broadcast of the February 19 Democratic debate from Las Vegas, in an interview.

Per NBC News, last night’s debate was also the highest-rated Democratic debate ever in the key 25-54 demographic with 5.3 million. In terms of the 18-49 demographic, the debate scored 4.3 million viewers.
The five other candidates who took to the stage alongside Bloomberg were former U.S. Vice President Joe Biden, and Senators Elizabeth Warren,...

Democratic presidential contender Mike Bloomberg will take the stage alongside his rivals at a primary debate for the first time on Wednesday night after a poll released today allowed him to qualify for the event.
Bloomberg commanded 19% support in the poll conducted by NPR, PBS NewsHour and Marist, second only to Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt) with 31%. The billionaire media mogul and former New York City mayor entered the Democratic presidential contest in late November and has spent hundreds of millions of dollars on television ads since then.
But Bloomberg had yet to qualify for any of the Democratic primary debates, which weigh the viability of candidates on the basis of support in polls and campaign contributions. Bloomberg to date has self-funded his campaign efforts. The high ranking for Bloomberg in the NPR/PBS NewsHour/Marist poll indicates that his blitz of television advertising is having an impact.
