The first day of the SAG-AFTRA strike kicked off with plenty of commotion and loads of signage.
SAG-AFTRA and WGA members across the United States rallied outside the offices of the studio giants to let everyone know the labor force would not be going to work today, or for any foreseeable future date, until a fair and equitable contract agreement had been met. SAG President Fran Drescher met her colleagues outside Netflix Studios, and had some words for Bob Iger.
In fact, lots of picketers had feelings about the Disney CEO’s recent statements, and that was reflected in a plethora of Iger-centric signs.
Despite the heat in Los Angeles, showrunner Mike Schur and actors Sean Astin and Ike Barinholtz marched outside of the Paramount lot. Actors Mandy Moore and Ben Schwartz were seen outside of Disney. Rosario Dawson was seen outside of Fox Studios and Matt Dallas, Chloe Fineman,...

Most gay characters in movies and TV shows are portrayed by straight actors. This can be unfortunate if you happen to be queer and seek out queer characters only to find their counterpart is straight in reality.
At the end of the day TV and movies are all acting, and being able to convincingly portray a lovey-dovey relationship or a character as different from you as possible is a part of a job well done.

Movies about the devil and demonic possession are certainly nothing new. Ever since classics like Rosemary’s Baby and The Exorcist, there have been countless movies made dealing with demons, exorcisms, or the paranormal in general. Some more recent favorites include Insidious, Sinister, and The Conjuring. But then, there are movies like Jason DeVan’s Along Came The Devil, which tries to go toe-to-toe with many other demon possession movies that have come before. Unfortunately, not only does this film take elements from other and much better movies, but it doesn’t offer anything new or use those old ideas in a unique way.
The plot is pretty straightforward, but it can also be somewhat confusing, and I’ll explain why. The movie follows a teen girl named Ashley, played by Sydney Sweeney, whose mother disappeared when she was young and was abused by her father.

The budget may be low, but the level of scares and imagination are lower still in “Along Came the Devil,” a feeble indie horror film that sometimes seems like a straight retread and other times feels like a movie aimed specifically at Christian audiences. Either way, it creaks more than it creeps, to the extent that various scenes appear to be missing from director Jason DeVan’s disjointed debut. Uninspired and increasingly silly, the Atlanta-shot movie will strike most genre fans as overly derivative, while the moderate amount of cursing and gore (however unconvincing) will nevertheless be more than faith-based-entertainment seekers typically find palatable. Gravitas Ventures is giving the picture a limited theatrical launch Aug. 10, simultaneous with on-demand/digital HD release.
Warning bells go off immediately as the film starts with far too much explanatory text, a ham-fisted childhood flashback and the de rigueur claim: “Based on true events”.

It's probably in a person's best interest not play with the devil if they don't want any horrible terrifying things to happen to them. We've all seen what happens in horror movies that are based on true stories about people messing around with Satan!

"Mom, are you here?!" Gravitas Ventures has debuted the first official trailer for a horror film titled Along Came the Devil, another new exorcism horror feature to go along with the 1,000 others we've seen in the last few years (including even William Friedkin's The Devil and Father Amorth). Inspired by true events, Along Came the Devil stars Sydney Sweeney as a woman who is sent to live with her estranged Aunt Tanya. While there, she starts to contact the spirit world after having visions of her dead mother and she unleashes a great evil. The full cast includes Jessica Barth, Matt Dallas, Madison Lintz, Heather DeVan, and Bruce Davison. The trailer sells this hard as an "exorcism movie for a new generation", but there's nothing in here that makes me seem like it has anything new to offer. Maybe it's just me. Take a look. Tagline: "Even Demons Believe in God." Tell Me Your Name is an upcoming horror film from director Jason DeVan. The film involves demonic possession and an exorcism. This time, the exorcist cannot identify the demon, while time runs out for the possessed's soul. Tell Me Your Name stars: Jessica Barth (The Waterhole, 2009), Matt Dallas (Ghost of Goodnight Lane), Madison Lintz and Bruce Davison. This indie horror title recently had its World Premiere at Cinequest (Silicon Valley), earlier this month. And, fans of horror can find more on Tell Me Your Name here. The trailer is more revealing than the synopsis. In the clip, a demon haunts Ashley (Sydney Sweeney). When she attempts to make contact with the dead, she invites demonic possession. When the demon makes its appearance, it might already be infernal damnation for Ashley. Tell Me Your Name has recently completed. So, a release date is quite a ways away.

I’m an indie filmmaker who’s made two low-budget features in the last four years: “Life Tracker” starring Matt Dallas in 2013 an the upcoming “The Drama Club.” Along the way, I’ve learned some things that I wish I could go back and tell my younger self. Here are some of the biggest lessons: 1. Crowdfunding can hurt you. This isn’t a cow that keeps giving milk. You basically have one shot, so make sure you choose wisely, if you choose to do it at all. Unless you have an above-the-line attachment capable of generating press and who can point strangers back to your.

The world of reality television obviously makes for some strange combinations, but admitting to being a horrible cook, and being a celebrity, makes for one of the more interesting ones to watch.
Anne Burrell and Rachael Ray are taking a shot at teaching some celebrities to avoid poisoning people, and it’s all for charity.
The Worst Cooks format is strange enough, as the franchise has thus far managed some bizarre concoctions, and with questionable overall results, but when you throw in a group of celebrities, it’s actually a lot more interesting than the standard version of the show. The former Kyle Xy star and his other half announced the exciting news in a YouTube video on Tuesday. Along with the sweet video that leads up to the big reveal, they wrote, "Ahh, the most wonderful time of the year. Indeed it is! This Christmas our wishes were granted beyond our wildest dreams." Of course, there was surrogacy, you can have your own [biological] kid, [or] private adoption . . . we spent nights, as we were going to bed, on our iPads, reading on different ways you can adopt. After spending some time researching it,...

Ansel Elgort would be happy to walk the streets in his underwear, Angel Haze and Ireland Baldwin are not best friends, where are the Lgbt cartoon characters?
We’ve now reached the point that tabloid outlets like RadarOnline are making up stuff about gay power couples just like they do straight couples. Their latest is that David Burtka is only allowing Neil Patrick Harris to do Hedwig for six months to keep the men from flirting with him. “At least in L.A. Forget everything you thought you knew about Lucy Hale – well, for one night, anyway. The Pretty Little Liars star is paying a visit to ABC Family’s hit comedy Baby Daddy tonight, and Jean-Luc Bilodeau tells HollywoodLife.com to expect some truly outrageous moments.

2013 has been a fabulous year for movies, TV, and celebrities leaving the closet (in new, kooky, Jodie Foster-esque ways). Before we move on to 2014, let’s look back on this decadent year with a calendar countdown: 12 queer men in entertainment who made each month of 2013 great by coming out, wowing us with talent, or just by being notably excellent celebrities.
Mr. January: Matt Dallas
The Kyle Xy hunk intended to make 2013 a decadent year right from the start, as he proved with this tweet about his upcoming marriage to singer/songwriter Blue Hamilton. “Starting off the year with a new fiance, @BlueHamilton. A great way to kick off 2013!”
Mr. February: Frank Ocean
The queer singer/songwriter gifted us with a most unusual performance at the 2013 Grammys in February with “Forrest Gump,” a longing ode with that recurring bleat of “Running on my mind, boy.” The 26-year-old R&B wunderkind...

From the moment he appeared as the strange, naked, navel-free alien title character on ABC Family’s Kyle X/Y, we fell in love with Matt Dallas, and we’ve continued that love affair. And it has as much to do with his charm and exuberance as his piercing eyes and … creative facial hair.
We were delighted when he announced his engagement to musician Blue Hamilton earlier this year, and we wish the happy couple all the best.
Today is his 31st birthday, so enjoy this gallery … and remember, there’s nothing wrong with a little navel gazing.
