The next chapter of Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan’s Monster anthology series has gained some significant star power as Javier Bardem and Chloë Sevigny join the cast as the parents of the Menéndez Brothers, José and Mary Louise “Kitty” Menéndez. The upcoming season, officially titled Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menéndez Story, focuses on the Menéndez brothers, who were convicted of the murders of their parents in 1996.
According to authorities, the brothers murdered their parents to inherit their father’s fortune. However, the brothers say they killed their parents after years of mental and physical abuse. Nicholas Alexander Chavez (General Hospital) and Copper Koch (They/Them) play Lyle Menendez and Erik Menéndez, respectively.

The true crime mini-series Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story is one of the biggest hits the Netflix streaming service has ever had, so a lot of subscribers have spent a good amount of time watching Evan Peters inhabit the role of serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer. Peters sat in on a panel with co-stars Niecy Nash and Richard Jenkins and Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story co-creator Ryan Murphy last Saturday, and during the panel it was revealed that Peters stayed in character for months while making the show.
Four months of prep and six months of shooting were required to bring Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story to the screen, and during that time Peters wore weights on his arms and lifts in his shoes to match the real Dahmer’s physicality and did extensive research to get his dialect right. Variety reports that Peters said,...

While Evan Peters is getting praised by critics and viewers (and deservedly so) for playing serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer on Netflix’s “Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story,” I wanted to shine an awards spotlight on another cast member who gives the best performance of her career: Niecy Nash. The actress plays the true hero of the story, Glenda Cleveland, who is frequently ignored by the authorities when she alerts them about the frightening happenings in her neighbor’s apartment.
“Glenda was one of his victims, too, and her story has been told the least of these,” Nash declares in a Netflix interview (watch below). Glenda repeatedly complains about the foul odors coming from Dahmer’s apartment, and dials 9-1-1 multiple times after hearing screaming and drilling coming through the vent. Sadly, if the cops had listened to her from the get-go, many of Dahmer’s future victims would likely still be alive today.

Our own Alex Maidy wasn’t very impressed with Netflix’s new limited series Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, which he gave a 6/10 review. A relative of one of Dahmer’s victims described the show as “cruel“. But Netflix subscribers certainly were curious to check it out. Netflix has announced that Dahmer debuted at #1 on the English TV list with 196.2 million hours viewed, making it the most viewed title on the streaming service this week. The series also broke into the Top 10 in 92 countries around the world. According to Deadline, Dahmer’s “hours viewed” number makes it one of the biggest hits on Netflix – at least since the streamer started reporting those numbers in June of 2021. The only shows that have had more hours viewed when they premiered were Squid Game, All of Us Are Dead, Stranger Things season 4, and Bridgerton season 2. Personally, I think it’s a...

The Netflix streaming service is aiming to bring us a lot of information about serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer in the near future. Not only will they be releasing the documentary Conversations with a Killer: The Jeffrey Dahmer Tapes on October 7th, they have also teamed up with American Horror Story co-creator Ryan Murphy for a series called Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story – or, judging by the title on display in the newly released trailer that you can watch in the embed above, the title is actually Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story. Primarily told from the perspective of Dahmer’s victims, the series will reportedly take place from the 1960s to early 1990s. “Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story” will also explore the incompetence of the Wisconsin police during the murder investigations, allowing Dahmer to continue his killing spree.

The HBO comedy “Barry” is having a great day. First it reaped three Golden Globe nominations and then it earned another three bids at the Writers Guild of America Awards. At the WGA, it competes for Best Comedy Series writing as well as for an individual episode and for the catch-all Best New Series award.
For the comedy series award, “Barry” faces off against reigning Emmy champ “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” as well as “Atlanta,” “Glow” and “The Good Place.” “Barry” is the only comedy up for the new series award alongside the dramas “The Haunting of Hill House,” “Homecoming,” “Pose” and “Succession.”
Of those four, only “Succession” made it into Best Drama Series where it competes against the final season of “The Americans,” season 4 of “Better Call Saul” and the sophomore editions of “The Crown” and “The Handmaid’s Tale.”
The WGA Awards winners will be revealed on Feb.

The WGA on Thursday unveiled its nominations for in TV, new media, news, radio/audio and promotional writing for 2018, with writers for Hulu’s The Handmaid’s Tale and NBC’s Saturday Night Live among last year’s winners to make the cut.
Last year, Handmaid’s Tale won the Drama Series category and the New Series category. HBO’s Succession has that same chance this year in drama, nominated in both categories. Another HBO series, its Bill Hader comedy Barry, was triple-nommed today including in the episodic race.
SNL returns to the Comedy/Variety sketch series category it won last season, this time facing the likes of the final season for IFC’s Portlandia and Sarah Silverman’s Hulu docuseries I Love You, America. Another returning champ, Comedy/Variety Talk Series’ Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, also landed a nom.

The Writers Guild of America has just announced the nominations for their annual awards for Best Screenplays (by writers who are guild signatories). That’s right, before you get nervous thinking that your favorite may have been left off the list, you must remember that the WGA is the group that is not all-inclusive and leaves out several of the top contenders each year due to them not being part of the guild or not following their very specific rules. For this reason, you won’t see Inside Out, The Hateful Eight, and Ex Machina in the Original Screenplay category or Room, Brooklyn, or Anomalisa in the Adapted screenplay category.
Taking a look at what’s left over for the nominations, we find many that were expected to make a showing, including Spotlight and Bridge of Spies for Original Screenplay, though they apparently had to sink to really low depths...

Steeped in the hipster glow of Slamdance recognition (the ultimate in truly indie street cred), The Four-Faced Liar is a romantic comedy/drama for the gen Y crowd. Writer Marja Lewis Ryan adapted her own play for the screen, co-produced, and stars in the film, which features a lesbian romance at the center of its examination of 20-something relationships.
