Update: President Joe Biden, speaking to attendees at tonight’s Los Angeles fundraiser, said that Donald Trump “is dragging us back to the past and not leading us to the future.”
“We stand with the truth and we are going to defeat him and his lies,” Biden said at the event, according to a pool report. The event was at the home of Haim Saban, but he was not there after testing positive for Covid, nor was the other main co-host, Casey Wasserman, who also tested positive.
In his remarks, which lasted about 15 minutes, Biden presented a contrast between himself and Trump, as donors have been calling for the campaign to sharpen its attacks on the president’s likely rival.
Biden also talked of the death of Alexei Navalny, blaming it on Vladimir Putin. He called it “outrageous” that Trump has not condemned the Russian leader.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is putting the unconfirmed reports about her love life to rest. While speaking to Insider, the New York politician confirmed that she and her longtime partner, Riley Roberts, are engaged.
“Yep! It’s true,” Ocasio-Cortez told the outlet. She later shared on Twitter, “It’s true! Thank you all for the well wishes ☺️.”
The now-engaged couple met in 2011 while they both attended Boston University, and the now-congresswoman led student townhalls. Roberts, who works in marketing, has rarely stepped out publicly with Aoc but made an appearance in her 2018 Knock Down the House documentary.

StubHub, a ticket marketplace featuring 10 million live sports, music and theatre events in more than 40 countries, has been sold by eBay to ticketing giant Viagogo for $4.05 billion in cash.
The deal is expected to close by the end of the first quarter of 2020, subject to regulatory approval and customary closing conditions.
“We believe this transaction is a great outcome and maximizes long-term value for eBay shareholders,” interim eBay CEO Scott Schenkel said. “Over the past several months, eBay ‘s leadership team and Board of Directors have been engaged in a thorough review of our current strategies and portfolio, and we concluded that this was the best path forward for both eBay and StubHub. We firmly believe in the StubHub business and we are excited about its future growth potential with Viagogo as its owner.”

This story first appeared in the Feb. 15 issue of The Hollywood Reporter magazine. Looking to rekindle some romance by scoring tickets to that sold-out Fleetwood Mac show? If you haven’t tried to get tickets to a sold-out show since Christine McVie was touring in the band, then it’s time for a primer. The days of street scalping are long past. Come to think of it, so is the term, which has been replaced by the tonier “secondary ticketing,” coined by Eric Baker, who launched StubHub out of a Stanford Business School classroom with Jeff Fluhr back in 2000.
