Bruce Lee was ahead of the curve by about four decades when he predicted back in the early 1970s that combat sports would one day take the world by storm.
Hong Kong’s favorite son had encouraged his own students to mix up the styles of martial arts they were being trained in — to combine kung fu with judo and just about everything else available — just as he did on screen in such international box office hits as “Enter the Dragon” (1973).
Now, “mixed martial arts” is the fastest growing sport in the world and as well as giving its millions of fans a new style of competition to watch, Mma has altered the broadcasting landscape in terms of how its content is produced and distributed.
Along with traditional live event broadcasts, Mma promotions were among the first to offer content partners — and the public — behind-the-scenes documentaries, training videos, highlight packages...

G.O.A.T. vs. G.O.A.T?!?!? It's possible ... with Mma legend Demetrious Johnson telling TMZ Sports he's down for a 3-round boxing match with Floyd Mayweather. "I think T.J. Dillashaw is dehydrated ... he ain't thinking straight," Cejudo tells TMZ Sports. "I'm gonna behead that snake." Welcome to this week’s Major League Wrestling: Fusion review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and we have a couple of big title matches to get to, so let’s do so before Dana White trades Demetrious Johnson to One Championship… wait, he already did that.
Match #1: Myron Reed defeated Marko Stunt The following is courtesy of Mlw.com:
Just one week after being on the losing end of a six-man tag team bout on Mlw Fusion vs. the Hart Foundation, Marko Stunt was back for more this week. Mr. Fun Size faced another youthful up-and-comer in “Hot Fire” Myron Reed. Reed used his size advantage to control the early action. Stunt scored a near fall after a nasty knee strike, but he was enamored with attempting to suplex Reed. Three different attempts failed, with the final one leading to the end. Reed reversed it into a cutter,...

The Battle Bus is heading to Los Angeles. “Fortnite” developer Epic Games announced some of its E3 plans on Wednesday, and they include a 100-player Pro-Am tournament.
Fifty professional gamers and 50 celebrities will pair up and compete for $3 million in prize money they’ll donate to their charity of choice. The winning duo will receive $1 million in charity money to split. But Epic noted this cash is not part of the $100 million prize pool it’s planning for “Fortnite” esports leagues.
The Pro-Am lineup includes Twitch streamer Tyler “Ninja” Blevins, who recently broke the concurrent viewer record on the service for the second time. Popular streamers Markiplier and Myth will participate as well, along with comedian and actor Joel McHale and Mma fighter Demetrious Johnson. Epic will announce more duo pairs over the next couple of weeks.
The competition will be streamed live on Twitch, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, and Mixer starting at 3:30 p.

In what is rapidly transforming from frustrating trend to infuriating plague on the sport, yet another massive Ufc main event is being scrapped at the last minute due to injury.
The highly-anticipated light heavyweight championship fight between current title-holder Daniel Cormier and the returning former champ Jon Jones is now off the card thanks to a reported leg-related injury suffered by Cormier.
The headliner of April 23rd’s Ufc 197 was a rematch of their previous title clash at Ufc 182, which “Bones” won by unanimous decision in what would be his final fight before being stripped of his championship due to multiple legal issues. Cormier then went on to defeat Anthony “Rumble” Johnson by submission for the held-up belt at Ufc 187 and defended it successfully against Alexander Gustafsson while Jones served his suspension.

Cm Punk has just undergone a sizable downgrade – in a video game, anyway. Following considerable outcry from fans over the fact that Punk, a fighter with zero amateur or professional fights who has yet to compete in the Ufc, was reportedly gifted an 85 rating in EA Sports’ upcoming Ufc 2 game – the company has gone into damage control mode, and announced that instead, the fighter will be at the absolute bottom of the talent pool.
Fighters in Ufc 2 are ranked out of 100, and the 85 score put Punk well above the level many feel he is at as a mixed martial artist.
On a Twitch livestream with Ufc flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson earlier this week, the creative director of Ufc 2, EA Sports’ Brian Hayes, stated that the version with the 85 rating – which put Punk above veteran fighters like Tim Means, and fighters from the version game in the series like Pat Berry – was a beta,...
