Jean-Claude Van Damme has kept a fairly low profile compared to many other 80s action heroes. And that includes such non-genre appearances as voice acting in kids films like Kung Fu Panda 2 and 3, Minions: The Rise of Gru as well as a cameo in the French comedy Haters. However, Darkness of Man sees him return to the Dtv action spotlight
As the film opens, Russel Hatch lies in a puddle of his own blood, bleeding out from several bullet wounds. He tells us in voice-over that, like every story, this began with a woman. And we go back to Miami two years prior when Hatch was an Interpol agent.

Nearly two years have gone by since we heard anything about Death Rider in the House of Vampires, the second feature directorial effort from musician Glenn Danzig (following the infamous 2019 horror anthology Verotika – watch it Here). At that time, the film was receiving a 200+ screen theatrical release in the United States… but after that theatrical run, the movie disappears. Now Screen Daily reports that Vmi Worldwide is presenting Death Rider in the House of Vampires to potential distributors at the Cannes Film Market – so if deals are secured there, more of us will have a chance to see the movie soon.
Scripted by Danzig, who also composed the score, Death Rider in the House of Vampires is a Spaghetti Western where every single character is a vampire. The story centers on the Death Rider, who travels to the desert Vampire Sanctuary ruled by Count Holliday. The price of admission… one untouched virgin.

Yes folks you read that title right…Nerdly has joined British Gothic Horror The Baby in the Basket, which stars Amber Doig-Thorne (Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey), teaming with Shepka Productions and Flickering Myth on the production.

The brand got off to an “interesting” start with Nerdly Presents’ first release, director James Cullen Bressack’s Hate Crime, getting banned by the BBFC! That was swiftly followed up with the VOD release of To Jennifer, another Bressack film, via the now-defunct UK-based TheHorrorShow.TV streaming service.

Uncork’d Entertainment has acquired director James Cullen Bressack’s well-received horror-comedy, “Murder, Anyone?” based on the play of the same name by Bressack’s father, Emmy-award winner Gordon Bressack.
The film will be released in early 2023.
“Murder, Anyone?” explores the concept of manifestation, and stars Kristos Andrews (“The Bay”), Galadriel Stineman (“The Middle”), Maurice Lamarche (“Pinky and the Brain”), Spencer Breslin, and Oscar nominee Sally Kirkland.
The story follows playwrights George and Charlie, tasked with the challenge of creating the next “avant-garde, surrealistic, mind-bending neo-noire thriller.” Unfortunately, as they write, the story comes to life in real time — but their own emotions and arguments also begin to manifest on film, creating sharp twists and turns and filling their life with hilarity — and chaos.

Of all the action heroes merrily kicking the asses of bad guys in the late ’80s and early ’90s, in terms of actual fighting prowess, few came close to Jean-Claude Van Damme, a karate and kickboxing champion who turned his phenomenal martial arts skills — including a particularly impressive spin-kick — into, for a while, back-to-back box office gold.
First propelled into the action arena thanks to Cannon Films’ 1988 low-budget smash Bloodsport, Van Damme quickly cemented his iconic status as the Muscles From Brussels thanks to 1989’s iconic Kickboxer, then starred as warring twins in 1991’s Double Impact, began a long-running onscreen feud with Dolph Lundgren in Roland Emmerich’s sci-fi 1992 hit Universal Soldier, led John Woo’s U.S. debut Hard Target in 1993 and donned Guile’s beret in 1994’s Street Fighter video game adaptation. Frost begins with a reunion between Grant and Abbey the daughter he hasn’t spoken to in five years. She’s about to become a mother and wants her child to be able to have a relationship with its grandfather. After a rather guarded start, they find common ground over memories of her late mother and start bonding.

Scripted by Robert Thompson from a story by James Cullen Bressack, Frost centers on
a young woman and her father who have to fight for survival after being stranded on a remote mountainside during a storm.
The synopsis doesn’t mention (but you can see in the trailer) that the situation is made even scarier and more desperate by the fact that the young woman in the story also happens to be pregnant. The film opens in the basement of a nightclub. A group of devil worshippers slice open a young woman and remove something that looks like a shark’s tooth-shaped cocoon from her body. In the next scene, the item is hidden in the corner of a fence. A bright blue butterfly of the species “CGIus Obvious” flutters around it and a young boy named Alex (Lucas Sequeira; In the Death Room) is playing on the other side of the fence.

Office equipment turns deadly after a bomb-maker targets a reformed hacker at work. Can Mel Gibson and a D-list cast save him from server-room peril?
Kevin Dillon heads a mostly D-, E- and F-list cast in this schlocky but not entirely unwatchable thriller; he plays Orlando Friar, a one-time hacker who’s gone straight and works for a computer helpline. One sunny day in southern California, Orlando makes excuses as to why he can’t stay at home and attend the birthday party of his teenage daughter Zoey (Anna Harr), citing work demands. His wife Kim (Lydia Hull) is so fed up with his perpetual absence, she hands him divorce papers. But off to work he goes nevertheless, where he is soon punished for his lack of paternal commitment when he discovers that an unseen bomb-maker, at first just a voice on the phone, has set a trap for him at work.

"Stay seated" Lionsgate has revealed an official trailer for the movie Hot Seat, a new trapped-by-a-bomb thriller from low rent action filmmaker James Cullen Bressack. He has been making forgettable action films for years with Bruce Willis, but now that he's retired they've switched over to worknig with Mel Gibson for his next mediocre movie. A reformed hacker turned cyber security technician finds himself in the "Hot Seat" when he realizes that he's just armed a bomb under his chair and he's forced to help a maniacal anonymous caller pull off an impossible cyber robbery. Kevin Dillon stars as the one in the chair, with Mel Gibson as a cop on the bomb squad, plus Shannen Doherty, Sam Asghari, Michael Welch, and Eddie Steeples. The funny thing is that this is pretty much the concept for Speed but transferred over into a "cyber thriller" movie. Even this "time is money...

Like a lot of creators, director James Cullen Bressack turned pandemic lemons into lemonade, as in the case of his upcoming movie “Sally Floss: Digital Detective,” which comes out sometime in Summer 2022.
Per the logline, “In response to the financial crisis set forth by Covid-19, a shy teenager starts an internet-based detective agency to save her family home. She solves mysteries through digital footprints, virtual interviews, a brilliant mind, and an inherited intuition she never knew she had.”
Appropriately, “Sally Floss” was directed during the height of the pandemic lockdown, and makes good use of the quarantine lifestyle and its related, restrictive Zoom-eye-view of the world, both in production and in-story. You can see how this plays out in the trailer, exclusive to TheWrap, above right now.
And honestly, with a title as charming as “Sally Floss: Digital Detective,” how can you say no?

"You have nothing to fear, after all, I'm dead - or am I?" Ten years later, a man lures her to a cabin in the woods, where he will test her sanity and force her to fight to survive. Everything at this secluded place - including the food - is booby-trapped. However, their own emotions and arguments also begin to manifest on film, creating sharp twists and turns and filling their life with hilarity — and chaos. And below, you can get a hint of what that’s like courtesy of some exclusive-to-TheWrap images.
The comedic play-within-a-play-within-a-movie, which per Bressack contemplates “the complexities of language, art, theater, film and more” is also especially personal for him. It’s based on the play written by his father, Emmy award-winning “Pinky and the Brain” writer Gordon Bressack, who died in 2019.
“I self financed and made the film in honor of my father’s memory so his words could live on,” Bressack said.

James Cullen Bressack (“Fortress”) is adapting the play “Murder, Anyone?” into a feature film, Variety can exclusively reveal.
“Muder, Anyone?” was originally written by Bressack’s father, Emmy Award-winning “Pinky and the Brain” writer Gordon Bressack. The play first premiered at the White Fire Theatre in Los Angeles in 2017.
Gordon Bressack, who worked on dozens of beloved animated shows including “Animaniacs” and “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles,” died in 2019.
Now his son will direct and produce a feature film adaptation, in part to “bring attention to his work,” Bressack tells Variety.
Spencer Breslin (“The Happening”) and Kristos Andrews (“The Bay”) are set to star in the film, a faithful adaptation of Bressack Sr.’s show about two playwrights tasked with creating a new “avant-garde, surrealistic, mind-bending neo-noire thriller” who find their story coming to life as they write.
Breslin and Andrews are joined by Galadriel Stineman (“The Is Us”), Maurice Lamarche (“Animaniacs”), Charles M.

If you’re a long-time reader of Nerdly you’ll know we’re huge fans of director James Cullen Bressack, so much so that back in 2015 we [unsuccessfully] tried to get his controversial film Hate Crime released on VOD in the UK – I say unsuccessfully as it was banned by the BBFC and we eventually ended up releasing his follow-up To Jennifer instead. Since then Bressack has ventured away from the horror genre, mixing things up with action movies starring actors like Steven Seagal and Bruce Willis.
Speaking of Willis, Fortress sees the actor back working with Bressack (after Survive the Game) as well as two of his co-stars from his previous movies, actors Chad Michael...
