Prominent Republicans are speculating that Jared Kushner would be the top choice for secretary of state in Donald Trump’s potential second presidential term.
“According to two sources, prominent Republicans are speculating that Kushner is in the running to take charge at Foggy Bottom if Trump wins in November,” author Gabriel Sherman wrote recently.

Update: Jury selection has ended for the day in Donald Trump’s hush money trial, with 11 people so far having gone through an extensive questionnaire. A total of 32 potential jurors were left in the courtroom.
After the prospective jurors left the courtroom, Trump’s attorney Todd Blanche requested that his client be excused from the proceedings on April 25. That’s the day that the Supreme Court will hear oral arguments in Trump’s claims of immunity from prosecution.
But Merchan rejected the request. “Arguing before the Supreme Court is a big deal, and I can certainly appreciate why your client would want to be there. But a trial in New York Supreme Court … is also a big deal,” he said, per a pool report. “I will see him here next week.”

The top executive of Spanish-language media giant TelevisaUnivision defended the company’s recent decision to interview former President Donald Trump in a non-confrontational manner and suggested the media conglomerate was shifting some of its long-held political attitudes.

The political commentator and co-host of The View took to social media to air her comments on the situation and she’s taking it so seriously that she shared a video with no glam and no filters.
Navarro started off the video by giving background to Univision and gave them accolades for “being a good player for the Latino community” over the years in keeping them informed on politics. However, she raised concerns over an interview with Trump the network aired from his Mar-a-Lago residency that was conducted by Enrique Acevedo, the most-watched news anchor on broadcast television in México via TelevisaUnivision’s Las Estrellas network.

Univision anchor Leon Krauze is leaving the network after it aired a controversial interview with Donald Trump last week.

New York Attorney General Letitia James (D) filed the lawsuit against Donald Trump, his children and the Trump Organization in 2022.
An appeals court dismissed Ivanka from the case in June, but James’ office is still seeking her testimony and has issued subpoenas to multiple corporate entities associated with her.
In a filing on Thursday, attorneys for the former president’s daughter urged the court to throw out the subpoenas, arguing that the state courts have no jurisdiction since she is not a resident of New York anymore.

Not many people know this, but during the Capitol riots, Hasan Minhaj saved Nancy Pelosi’s life. Whoopi Goldberg is coming to the defense of Hasan Minhaj, who has received some criticism after acknowledging that he has embellished stories that were basically based in fact in his stand-up routines.
“That’s what we do” (as comedians), Goldberg said during Monday’s The View. “That’s what we do, we tell stories and we embellish them.”
