ABC announced their summer offering schedule, though the big kick is coming as early May 14th with The Bachelorette. New and returning shows are likely to get a fair amount of marketing love, as summer programming, especially with the influx of cable hotlist shows, has taken off over the last few years.

For nine seasons, Top Chef fans have known Gail Simmons to be a thoughtful and incisive judge, a dessert enthusiast (she does host Top Chef: Just Desserts, after all) and a friendly, familiar face. But for Simmons, being a TV personality was never in the cards. In fact, after graduating from college in Montreal, neither was a career in food - initially. In her new book, Talking with My Mouth Full: My Life as a Professional Eater, Simmons shares "the story of my life - so far - and the mentors and the adventures I've had along the way," as...

Bravo officially announced Top Chef Texas today, and for the show's ninth season, it is adding two new judges in addition to Tom Colicchio and Gail Simmons: Emeril Lagasse and Hugh Acheson, who was on the most-recent season of Top Chef Masters. Bravo notes that the season will move between Austin, Dallas, and San Antonio. Word that the show is filming in Texas already leaked, thanks to a confrontation between the judges and a tweeter.

I would have loved to see Anthony Bourdain go full time on Top Chef. Or that bald guy from MasterChef who likes to stare at people really, really hard. Instead, the Bravo reality competition show has hired Emeril Lagasse as its new judge, along with another lesser-known chef, Hugh Acheson (who previously competed on Top Chef Masters).
Padma Lakshmi, Gail Simmons and head judge Tom Colicchio will remain on the judging panel for the upcoming ninth season along with Lagasse and Acheson. Instead of focusing on one city, the show is going to three cities in Texas (Austin, San Antonio...

We watched the whole season of The Biggest Loser routing for the sisters Olivia Ward and Hannah Curlee because we could relate to their strong bond. As so when the pair ended up in the final three together we were so happy for them. But in the back of our heads, knowing what just a tinge of sibling rivalry feels like, we couldn’t help but wonder if they were at all competitive with each other. In a recent conference call interview Olivia, who won the title and the $250,000 cash prize, answered our questions about going head-to-head against her sister and best friend.
She admitted there was a healthy competition going on, "It was always one of those things that we came in together but at the same time it was like, 'She’s never just going to let me win anything, and I’m...

In quite possibly the most unique season of "The Biggest Loser" ever, 35-year-old opera singer, Olivia Ward, took the title and this season's $250,000 prize.
The New York City resident lost 129 pounds from her starting weight of 261 to knock out both her sister, Hannah Curlee, and the third place finalist, Irene Alvarado, for the win. She was a force to be reckoned with from the very beginning of the competition. And her desire to elevate her career from being typecast in the opera world drove her.
Her sister, 32-year-old human resources rep, Hannah, came in second place with a total weight loss of 120 pounds from her starting weight of 248 pounds. The Nashville gal had once been an athlete on her way to a pro career when a devastating car accident ended her sports career with a serious back injury.
We're not surprised that the two sisters placed first and second as...

During a pretty intense weigh-in on last week's Biggest Loser the nail biting went on until the very last seconds. Would sisters Hannah and Olivia fall below the yellow line together causing one of them to leave the other behind on the ranch? Instead frontrunner Austin Andrews lost only one pound and was sent packing. We spoke with him about the fear of splitting up the girls, the moment he became a man and what he's doing to try to take the at-home prize.
On the Fear of Breaking Up the Sisters
"That night was so intense just because you’re looking at all of this around you. I, of course, would have been grateful that I would have been able to stay in the final four but at the same time I loved Olivia and Hannah and I love Irene and Jay. So we...
