Hoda Kotb was spotted out and about with a mystery man and on Wednesday, Laura Jarret got her to open up a bit more about him while working for the Today Show. Fans of the talk show seem keen on the story because they probably still recall her excitement about the engagement ring that she got from Joel Schiffman in 2019. That relationship ended in 2022, and those who love her want to see her with someone else.
Hoda Kotb & Her Mystery Man
When the news arrived about a new man in the talk show host’s life, it came as a surprise to her fans. For two years, she wasn’t dating, as she found some peace of mind without her long-term partner. Naturally, splitting hurts, but she seemed to strongly hint that they were still amicable, as she mentioned how nice people can go their separate ways.

Taylor Swift, Beyoncé and other music stars served as major sources of inspiration behind the Halloween costumes displayed on morning and daytime talk shows this year.
Three shows featured hosts dressing up as Swift, with Today‘s Savannah Guthrie, Live‘s Kelly Ripa and The Talk‘s Amanda Kloots all dressing as the superstar singer-songwriter, with the latter two also passing out friendship bracelets in an ode to Swift’s hit Eras tour.
Live With Kelly and Mark took the Swift inspiration one step further, dubbing their annual Halloween extravaganza The Eras Show as they looked back through different decades of pop culture and of Live‘s own onscreen Halloween celebrations. While Ripa and Consuelos kicked things off with their take on the Barbie movie, they doled out friendship bracelets in an homage to Swift and spoke about the Eras tour inspiration for their show.

Kristen Welker’s first broadcast of Meet the Press on Sunday will feature a pre-taped interview with former President Donald Trump.
The interview will take place on Thursday in Bedminster, NJ, and it will be Trump’s first broadcast network sitdown since leaving office.
The network has stressed that the interview is not a town hall and there is no live audience, and the same invite has been extended to President Joe Biden. The sitdown also will be accompanied by a fact check on NBCNews.com. When Peter Alexander opens Saturday’s broadcast of “Today,” he will find himself opposite a new host — and a potential sparring partner.
Laura Jarrett, a relatively new arrival to NBC News, is taking over as his co-anchor on the weekend edition of the long-running morning program now that Kristen Welker is moving to host “Meet The Press.” As Alexander discovered during a rehearsal session on Thursday, he will have to be prepared.
“She is smart as heck, which is not a surprise, but she is going to throw stuff back at me, as we found out at rehearsal,” Alexander quipped. “I have got to be ready.”
By pairing Jarrett, who was recently named to helm the justice beat at NBC News, with Alexander, its chief White House correspondent, NBC is no doubt keeping its corporate eye on a critical moment. The run-up to the 2024 election will demand familiarity not only with Washington,...

CNN keeps feeding the mouths that bite it.
As Warner Bros. Discovery has orchestrated massive changes and cuts to the popular news giant, a stream of producers, anchors and executives have left — some of their own volition, and many of them not. But no matter the case, a growing number of these now-former CNN die-hards are being scooped up by rivals including MSNBC, ABC News and CBS News.
CBS News on Wednesday announced it had lined up Lisa Ling as a contributor. The veteran journalist spent eight years at CNN leading viewers through interesting issues as host of the documentary series, This Is Life,” which was cancelled amid a cutback of original programming that uses outside partners.

Ana Cabrera, an up-and-coming daytime anchor at CNN, is expected to leave the network and join NBC News, according to three people familiar with the matter — the latest in a series of CNN personnel who have defected to the NBCUniversal news unit.
At present, Cabrera anchors the 1 p.m. hour on CNN, a move she made after working weekend anchor shifts and as a Denver correspondent for the Warner Bros. Discovery-backed outlet, which she joined in 2013. But she is expected to depart and, after waiting out months-long period during which she cannot compete with CNN, join NBC News in an as-yet-undisclosed capacity, these people indicated.
Spokespeople for both CNN and NBC News declined to comment.
There may be a natural roost for Cabrera. MSNBC has yet to install a permanent anchor in its 11 a.m. slot, a space that was previously inhabited by Craig Melvin.

CEO Chris Licht’s plan to take CNN back to its newsy roots has support from the Warner Bros. Discovery board, but the top-down approach has higher ups in the newsroom worried about their editorial independence.
Speaking with the Financial Times, Licht said he aims to bring journalism front-and-center, tamping down the amount of opinion talk that grew on the network during the Trump years. He has a vision to make the Og all-news cable station seem “more like a newspaper,” with less emphasis on politics and more on breaking news, lifestyle and sports content “in the hope it might keep viewers glued, even on slow days.”
The CEO, who took over for Jeff Zucker in May, believes that the network’s offerings needed to be toned down.

CNN Chief Doesn’t View Fox News, MSNBC as His Rivals: ‘My Competition Is Frankly … HGTV and Netflix’
During an appearance on “On With Kara Swisher,” CNN’s chairman and CEO Chris Licht opened about who he sees as competition for the cable news channel, and it isn’t Fox News.
“I’m not looking at it through trying to appeal to ‘lean into the left’ or ‘try to appeal to more people on the right.’ I think that that’s not a good business model because you’re fighting for a bigger slice of a shrinking pie,” said Licht on the newest episode of Swisher’s Vox Media-based podcast, which interviews influential names in politics, the entertainment Industry and more.
Licht, who upon taking the reins set a goal to shift to less-partisan news production at the network, said fellow channel news competitors aren’t on his radar.

MSNBC’s weekend viewers can bid farewell to many prime-time repeats of Rachel Maddow and Chris Hayes.
The NBCUniversal-owned cable-news outlet will on September 19 launch two new programs for weekend evenings, and add another anchor to its weekend afternoon coverage. Alicia Menendez, who joined the network in late 2019, will debut “American Voices” on Saturdays and Sundays between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. eastern, while Joshua Johnson who joined MSNBC earlier this year, will premiere “The Week” between 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. on weekend evenings. Kasie Hunt, whose “Kasie DC” offered viewers a Washington perspective on Sunday evenings, will re-launch “Way Too Early,” an MSNBC early-morning offering for weekdays that was originally started under Willie Geist in 2009.
