At least one of the stars of Derry Girls would sign up for a reprise of the hit comedy.
Saoirse-Monica Jackson, who played lead Derry Girl Erin in the award-winning show based on the lives of four Northern Irish teenage girls (and an English male cousin), told The Belfast Telegraph she hopes she hasn’t said goodbye to her character for ever, following the show’s triumphant finale in 2022.
She said: “It felt bizarre when the show ended, because I was done with Erin, but Lisa is continuing her life.
“It would be interesting to revisit Erin down the line and see what she’s up to because your twenties are so chaotic. But that would really be down to Lisa. I’d love to work with her again.”
Derry Girls became one of Channel 4’s biggest ever comedies on its debut in 2018, and then a global hit on the Netflix platform.

She was top of the class in the worldwide hit Derry Girls, but Saoirse-Monica Jackson was terrified she’d never work again… How wrong she was. The show opened so many doors for her – from superhero movies to a 14th-century period drama
When the first season of the Channel 4 sitcom Derry Girls debuted in 2018, the show’s lead actor Saoirse-Monica Jackson had something of a flip out. Her performance as Erin Quinn, one of four Catholic schoolgirls (and an English fella) living in Derry on the Northern Ireland border in the final throes of the Troubles, was – she now realised – quite out there: full of adolescent facial contortions that dripped with awkwardness, disdain and indignation. Jackson had been inspired by the punk irascibility of her teenage cousin and the animated comic tics of Jim Carrey and Rowan Atkinson. But now she feared that she had blown her big break.

Siobhán McSweeney spoke candidly on the BAFTA TV Awards red carpet about how much she’d like to win a BAFTA. Later that night, the “Derry Girls” actress won a BAFTA (hurray!) — for Best Comedy Actress for the fourth and final season of the hit Northern Irish comedy.
In the Netflix show, she plays nun Sister Michael, who acts as a foible for the main group of Erin (Saoirse-Monica Jackson), Orla (Louisa Harland), Clare (Nicola Coughlan), Michelle (Jamie-Lee O’Donnell), and James (Dylan Llewellyn), who try to make it through school during the Troubles in 1990s Northern Ireland. As Sister Michael, she rules the school the girls (and James) attend with an iron fist. Being a nun isn’t some higher calling to her, it’s a job — with free accommodation. As Sister Michael, McSweeney is dry, deadpan, and constantly provides the show with some of its best laughs and most iconic lines.

Fans are divided over The Flash’s new trailer.
In the trailer which was released on Monday (13 February) during the Super Bowl, viewers can see Ezra Miller’s title character travelling through time to prevent the murder of his mother, but unwittingly causes changes that result in the creation of a multiverse.
While many people are “very excited” to see Michael Keaton’s Batman, others are skeptical about Miller’s involvement in the film due to the actor’s recent controversial behaviour and arrests.
“Excited to see Michael Keaton as Batman again,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
Another person added: “The Flash movie trailer just had my brain scrambled.”
One person wrote: “Intrigued. Felt more like the CW crossover events than the Flashpoint plot line from the comics. Lots of fan Easter eggs. We’ll see how it hangs together as a script.”

Following the controversy surrounding Ezra Miller, Warner Bros. Discovery hopes fans of The Flash put it aside to watch the new movie.
The official trailer dropped during Fox's Super Bowl telecast on Sunday night, and it looks like it will live up to the hype.
The movie is set to hit theaters on June 16, following countless delays.
Miller previously played the role of Barry Allen on Zack Snyder's Justice League.
The movie finds Barry crashing into the multiverse and running into another version of himself.
That's right, folks, we're getting two Barry Allens -- both played by Miller.
There are also two Batmans -- one played by Ben Affleck and the other by Michael Keaton.
Oh, and there's also Supergirl in the mix. Sasha Calle takes on the exciting role.

It’s 1994, and the people of Northern Ireland are nearly three decades into a violent conflict known as the Troubles. Civilians — thousands of which died during the fray — are generally divided between Protestant unionists, who want to keep the country under United Kingdom control, and Irish Catholics, who call for a united Ireland. Day-to-day life in Derry involve armed military checkpoints, customary bomb disposals, and the constant hum of danger. Family members are in prison. Others are dead. An end to the Troubles is in sight, but for the teenage girls attending Our Lady Immaculate College, this is the only life they’ve ever known. That it may come to an end right as they graduate only instills further anxiety over the responsibilities of adulthood.

Spoiler Alert: This story contains spoilers for Season 3 of “Derry Girls.”
Season 3 of “Derry Girls” opens with a dramatic montage set to the tune of uilleann pipes, depicting Erin Quinn (Saoirse-Monica Jackson), Orla McCool (Louisa Clare Harland), Clare Devlin (“Bridgerton” star Nicola Coughlan), James Maguire (Dylan Llewellyn) and Michelle Mallon (Jamie-Lee O’Donnell) leaning pensively against walls, playing soccer and doing cartwheels, interspersed with shots of burning cars and soldiers carrying guns. It’s the sort of montage that belongs in a period piece about growing up in Ireland during the ’90s — and, as it’s revealed, the kind that Erin, Orla, Clare, James and Michelle want to be remembered for, as they’ve created it themselves using James’ video camera. “They told us we were young,” Erin intones in a comically ponderous voiceover, “yet we understood the enormity of it. We understood what was at stake. Our fear was replaced with something altogether more terrifying…...

Alan Moore has hit out at “infantile” adults who are fans of superhero movies, warning that it can often lead to “fascism”.
The British author and creator of DC’s Watchmen comic book series has long been vocal about his disdain for superhero films, once labelling them as a “blight” to cinema.
Now, in a new interview with The Guardian, Moore has gone a step further to specifically criticise older fans of the genre.
“I said ’round about 2011 that I thought that it had serious and worrying implications for the future if millions of adults were queueing up to see Batman movies,” he recalled.
“Because that kind of infantilisation – that urge towards simpler times, simpler realities – that can very often be a precursor to fascism.”

Director David O Russell has been said to have regularly fought with Bale’s co-star Amy Adams during production.
In 2016, Adams claimed that Russell had made her cry “most” days while filming took place, saying: “I was really just devastated on set.”
“He was hard on me, that’s for sure,” she told GQ, revealing that she had no intention of working with the filmmaker again.
In a new interview with GQ, Bale opened up about his own role in the disputes.
“I did what I felt was appropriate, in very Irv style,” he explained, referencing his American Hustle character.

Saoirse-Monica Jackson has teased DC’s forthcoming movie, The Flash, claiming that audiences will be “blown away” by Ezra Miller’s performance in the titular role.
The 28-year-old Derry Girls star has been cast in an undisclosed role in the 2023 superhero film, which follows The Flash as he travels through time to prevent his mother’s murder.
Speaking to Vanity Fair about the film, Jackson said: “Honestly, it was so amazing for me to see that level of production and that level of creative freedom and scope.
“A lot of our scenes were improvised, and I think that it was a really supportive and creative environment.”
When asked what it was like working alongside Miller – who uses they/them pronouns – Jackson said: “What a remarkable talent, and I think what a brilliant Flash. It’s just the perfect casting for The Flash.
“When the world sees that performance, they’ll be completely blown away.

What better way to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day than with a first look at Derry Girls Season 3? The hit U.K. Channel 4 comedy — which rose to stateside popularity on Netflix — will come to an end with its upcoming third and final season. Based on creator Lisa McGee’s adolescent years in 1990s Northern Ireland, the series follows teens Erin (Saoirse-Monica Jackson), Orla (Louisa Harland), Clare (Bridgerton’s Nicola Coughlan), Michelle (Jamie-Lee O’Donnell), and James (Dylan Llewellyn) through their hilarious teen hijinks, all while living through the difficult political conflict known as The Troubles. “We lived on the edge back then. We were young, wild, fearless,” says James in the Season 3 trailer. While the teaser promises more hilarious misadventures — from school plays to attractive plumbers to losing Clare at a train station — the Lady Immaculate College schoolgirls (and boy) will also have to come to terms with their quickly-approaching adulthood.

A first look at the third and final season of “Derry Girls” is finally here — and just in time for St. Patrick’s Day.
U.K. broadcaster Channel 4 has unveiled the first Season 3 still and trailer for the show, which garnered global popularity via Netflix. The drama is created and written by Lisa McGee, who mined her own experiences growing up in Northern Ireland during the Troubles.
While Season 1 observed the gang navigating their teens in 1990s Derry against a backdrop of The Troubles, Season 2 charted the group navigating their parents, parties, love interests and school against the backdrop of a precarious peace process. In Season 3 — which still doesn’t have a launch date on Channel 4 — viewers will see that while Northern Ireland is growing up, “this gang of eejits certainly aren’t anytime soon.”

Don’t be fooled by the empowerment-sounding title of “Finding You”: The engine of writer-director Brian Baugh’s romantic comedy isn’t driven by the woman herself, but by the men who are continually placed in power positions that directly inform her arc. Where it would have been nice to see the heroine unlocking her own potential, the film instead focuses on her finding an intercontinental romance with a dashing young man, life coaching from an unlikely male ally and a mysterious message from her deceased older brother. This not-insignificant miscalculation aside, however, effervescent performances from an ebullient ensemble make “Finding You” a palatable and compelling female coming-of-age tale.
As if beckoned by the siren call of the bubbly pop song on the soundtrack, violinist Finley Sinclair (Rose Reid) emerges from the depths of the subway, a seemingly confident young woman negotiating New York City’s frenetic hustle and bustle.

Finley (Rose Reid) is an aspiring violinist who just botched her biggest audition ever. Beckett (Jedidiah Goodacre) is a Hollywood bad boy who is growing weary of fame. When fate (read: a winking flight attendant) seats them together on a cross-continental flight, sparks — quite predictably, mostly uncomfortably — fly. Such is the setup of Brian Baugh’s “Finding You,” , right down to its winking take on “Notting Hill.”
There’s nothing inherently wrong with using the cinematic grammar and usual expectations of a genre to attempt something new, but for every slightly inventive element in “Finding You,” Baugh piles on three times as many other bits of been-there, done-that plotting. For instance: Beckett’s prickly attitude toward his celebrity adds actual pathos to the film. He’s been famous for years, and his sniveling stage dad, played by Tom Everett Scott, has turned him into nothing more than a product to sell.

"Not really my type." Roadside Attractions has released an official trailer for a cute Irish romance film titled Finding You. Finley, a talented aspiring violinist, meets Beckett, a famous young movie star (more "Game of Thrones" though), on the way to her college semester abroad program in a small coastal village in Ireland. An unexpected romance emerges as heartthrob Beckett leads Finley on an adventurous reawakening, and she emboldens him to take charge of his future, until the pressures of his stardom get in the way. It was shot exclusively in Ireland, in and around Dublin, Claire, Offaly and Kildare. The film's "village set" location was in the beautiful town of Carlingford. This one stars Rose Reid and Jedidiah Goodacre, with Katherine McNamara, Patrick Bergin, Saoirse-Monica Jackson, and Judith Hoag, with Tom Everett Scott and Vanessa Redgrave. This looks charming and extremely cheesy, another classic super sweet romance. Here's the...
