Two men have been indicted for distributing the heroin and fentanyl that caused the February death of Pose star and transgender activist Cecilia Gentili.
The four-count indictment accuses Michael Kuilan, 44, of Brooklyn and Antonio Venti, 52, of West Babylon, New York, with supplying the drugs that killed Gentili on February 6. The indictments were announced today by New York federal prosecutors.
The announcement by law enforcement officials today was the first time Gentili’s cause of death was disclosed.
“Cecilia Gentili, a prominent activist and leader of the New York transgender community was tragically poisoned in her Brooklyn home from fentanyl-laced heroin,” said Breon Peace, United States Attorney for the Eastern District of New York, in the statement. “Today, the alleged perpetrators who sold the deadly dose of drugs to Gentili have been arrested. The National LGBTQ Task Force — a nonprofit that describes itself as “the progressive voice of the LGBTQ movement” — has set its sights on Miami as the host city for the 27th annual Task Force Gala on Oct. 14. The ceremony, presented by St. John’s on the Lake United Methodist Church, will honor Pose breakout Dominique Jackson with a national leadership award during a program that also features co-hosts Latrice Royale and Dyllón Burnside and performances by Anne Steele, Robbie Elias and Tango Libertad.
Taking place in a year that marks the Task Force’s 50th anniversary and in October which marks LGBTQ history month, the event is being presented with the theme “Forever Strong, Unapologetically Queer,” a sentiment that can be applied to the org’s choice to host such an event in Florida, a state that has emerged as a battleground in the fight between conservative lawmakers and LGBTQ citizens.

American Horror Stories, a streaming series spin-off from FX’s long-running horror anthology series American Horror Story, began with a seven episode first season in 2021, and an eight episode second season followed in 2022. For the upcoming third season, the episode count has been shortened to just four – and all four episodes of American Horror Stories season 3 are set to drop on the Hulu streaming service on October 26th! With that date just three weeks away, a teaser trailer has arrived online to give a quick preview of the Halloween (or “Huluween”) event. You can watch it in the embed above.

Pregnancy and its various complications have always been fertile ground when it comes to horror. From devil children to… well, it’s always devil children, isn’t it? Which is why the most recent season of American Horror Story: Delicate — which deals with the heartbreaking trials and errors of IVF — could have easily been a joyless slog. Haven’t we seen enough movies where a woman has the audacity to want a child, only to give birth to Damien? Thank God, then, for Kim Kardashian.

Lisa Rinna is best known for playing the characters of Billie Reed on Days of Our Lives and Taylor McBride on Melrose Place… or at least she was, until she was featured on eight seasons of the reality series The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. That may be what most viewers recognize her from these days. But Rinna recently left that Real Housewives show, and now Deadline reports that she has signed on to appear in an episode of the Hulu horror anthology series American Horror Stories.
The episode Rinna will be in is titled Tapeworm, and most of the filming of that episode was already completed before Deadline confirmed her involvement. That’s the only information that’s available at this time.

This year’s first-round Primetime Emmy nominations ballot includes a total of 51 Best Limited Series hopefuls. This is down from 2022’s unusually high total of 61, yet still much higher than 2021’s 37, 2020’s 41, and 2019’s 35.
All 20,000 plus voting members of the TV academy have until June 26 to cast their 2023 Emmy Awards nominations ballots for programs. Unlike the Oscars, voters for the Emmys do not rank their choices and nominees are determined by a simple tally. After six years of not having to limit their choices in any categories, members’ selections can now not be greater than the number of eventual nominations for a given award, which, in this case, will be five.
Unlike comedy and drama series, which simply appear on the ballot by name, the limited series submissions include plot descriptions and cast lists. Which of the shows listed below do you think will land in the final lineup on...

A year ago Monday, Dylan Mulvaney came out as a trans woman and began chronicling her journey on TikTok with her “Days of Girlhood” series.
To celebrate her one-year anniversary, Mulvaney hosted a cabaret show, “Dylan Mulvaney’s Day 365 Live!,” at the iconic Rainbow Room in New York. Before the show, she spoke with Variety on the red carpet about what she’s learned from her very public and unexpected journey.
“It was such an accident, but a very happy one,” Mulvaney told Variety on Monday night. “Going in, I had no idea just how vulnerable I would get and how much I had to learn about womanhood.”
The 80-minute variety show began with a pre-recorded clip of Rachel Brosnahan (“The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel”) comforting Mulvaney in her dressing room. From there, Mulvaney eagerly entered from the balcony at the back of the Rainbow Room and sang a series of Kate Bush covers.

"Emily in Paris" season three hit Netflix on Dec. 21, and fans of the show are being reminded of just how gorgeous and charming its star Lucien Laviscount is. Can you blame them for wondering if he's dating someone? Well, good news for anyone who's still holding out hope for a chance with the English actor: he doesn't appear to be dating anyone at the moment. He has dated quite a few stars in the past, though.
Laviscount was most recently linked to former Little Mix-er Jesy Nelson, but it turns out that Laviscount has been involved in more than a few rumored relationships that panned out to be nothing.
So who has the "Emily in Paris" star really romanced in recent years? Since his rise on "Grange Hill" in 2007, the actor has been said to have dated a number of his costars - Brooke Vincent, Dominique Jackson, Amy Childs, and...

‘American Horror Stories’ offers its unique take on a classic trope, but thin characters and predictable plotting result in a shattered episode.
“You light a candle in a room and then you say her name three times…”
There’s a natural shorthand that exists with creepy characters like Bloody Mary that have become omnipresent in pop culture. Not only are most American Horror Story audiences aware of Bloody Mary’s urban legend, but there’s been a demand to see her worked into the series for some time now. The twisted “monkey’s paw” logic that accompanies Bloody Mary and similar specters is ripe material for the horror genre to explore and low-rent Blumhouse material like Wish Upon or Truth or Dare (or Shudder’s Kandisha) do exactly that. American Horror Stories finally finds a suitable story to explore this staple, but “Bloody Mary” is arguably the weakest application of this premise.

Fans may know her as Elektra Abundance-Evangelista, the fierce house mom from beloved series "Pose" with all the confidence in the world and the Naomi Campbell-esque looks to go with it. But while she's just as iconic in real life, Dominique Jackson's wisdom goes far beyond her glamorous persona.
Her portrayal of a beautiful Black trans woman on a major TV show catapulted Jackson into the spotlight, and she quickly became a game changer for trans representation in media. For so many queer people, seeing themselves reflected in history books would have been life-affirming and saved them years of pain as children. The Book of Queer is here to deliver that affirmation. The Discovery+ comedic documentary series retells history through the Lgbtqia+ lens it always should have had, showing all who watch that we have always been here, and we’re not going away — loud homophobes be damned. With shows like this, kids nowadays are far from a loss of content teaching them the beauty of Lgbtqia+ history. Each of the five episodes focuses on different historical figures, as told by queer historians, actors, singers, and performers, with Dominique Jackson, Leslie Jordan, Alex Newell, Margaret Cho, and Ross Mathews narrating the installations. Speaking with TV Insider at Discovery+’s Celebrate Pride event during the Tribeca Film Festival on June 9, Newell and Book of Queer executive producer, Pulitzer Prize finalist Dr.

No, producers didn’t ask the actors about their sexuality.
“If you’re casting for a show called ‘Book of Queer,’ and you’re saying in the audition process, ‘Is there any particular reason you want to be on this show?,’ they’re going to tell us,” series creator Eric Cervini tells me. “Of course, we weren’t discriminating, but it was kind of self-selecting.’”

Oscar winner Halle Berry made a special appearance at Sunday’s Critics Choice Awards to accept the SeeHer award, a prize that recognizes a woman who pushes boundaries and defies stereotypes. Berry’s career — which spans more than 30 years as an actor, producer and now director — easily fits that bill.
Berry was presented the honor by “Insecure” creator and star Issa Rae, who Berry thanked for her inspiring work. “You have rearranged the way we see ourselves as women of color on television and in the world,” she said at the beginning of her rousing acceptance speech.
As she reflected on her time in entertainment, Berry spoke about her road to star in and direct “Bruised,” a film about a Black woman Mma fighter. Berry recalled the first time she read the script, “I realized that it wasn’t written for someone that looked like me. So I went to the producers and I said,...

It was a reunion for Angelica Ross, Indya Moore, Michaela Jaé Rodriguez, Dominique Jackson, and Hailie Sahar at Sunday's Critics' Choice Awards. The group, who starred in "Pose" together, had a glamorous night out at the Los Angeles ceremony. In addition to posing for photos together on the red carpet, the cast served as presenters.
Following Rodriguez's historic win at the Golden Globe Awards in January, "Pose" was nominated in three categories at this year's ceremony: Billy Porter was up for best actor in a drama series for his role as Pray Tell, Rodriguez was nominated for best actress in a drama series for her portrayal of Blanca Evangelista; and the FX show received a nod for best drama series. Sadly, "Pose" didn't end up taking home any trophies.
Even though "Pose" came to an end in 2021 after three glorious seasons, we're glad to see the cast is still close.

The Critics Choice Awards annually honor achievements in cinematic and television work. They often set the stage in terms of Oscar award winners as well. The Critics Choice Association is the largest critics organization in the United States and Canada, representing more than 525 media critics and entertainment journalists. It was established in 2019 with the formal merger of the Broadcast Film Critics Association and the Broadcast Television Journalists Association, recognizing the intersection between film, television and streaming content.

Gold Derby’s smart, adamant and sometimes brutally honest forum posters did not mince words when it came to their reactions to the 2022 Critics Choice Awards nominations for TV, which were announced on Monday, December 6. HBO’s “Succession” led the pack, nabbing an impressive eight citations, leaving our users totally bopping to “L to the Og.” Our readers were also ecstatic about all of the love for Paramount +’s “Evil.” But how did HBO’s summer hit “The White Lotus” miss out for Best Limited Series and “Ted Lasso” for season 2 scene-stealer Juno Temple? And Hulu’s “The Handmaid’s Tale” is completely shut Again?

Awards pundits think the third (and final) time will be the charm for “Pose” at this year’s Screen Actors Guild Awards. The heralded drama series went off the airwaves earlier this year, which means it’s the last chance for SAG Awards voters to honor the show with its first-ever nominations. For its first two seasons, lead actor Billy Porter and lead actress Mj Rodriguez were both snubbed, as was the show’s ensemble cast. But Gold Derby’s SAG Award nominations predictions think that egregious oversight is about to be corrected.
