It cost $70,000 to fit out a New York cinema to play the movie I'm Your Man. How did letting an audience choose what happens in a film go?
Sometimes, history consigns relatively revolutionary projects to the back of everyone's minds, never to be heard from again. That might just be the case for the movie I'm Your Man.
The film was released in December 1992, and was supposedly set to showcase new interactive cinema technology that had been developed by Loews Theatres in the Us. As such, the movie premiered at a specially-equipped Loews cinema in New York City, where audiences were charged $3 a seat for the 20 minute movie.
The gimmick, though, was that they could choose how the story panned out. Written and directed by Bob Bejan (who also voiced Michaelangelo on a pair of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles albums), I'm Your Man offered audiences 68 moments in...

Walter and Ralph being partners is everything I've ever wanted.
On Scorpion Season 3 Episode 7, it's bring your son to work day! I'm sorry, I'm still not over that moment. In all seriousness, Walter and Ralph were great partners.
Walter being benched was a fun way to mix things up, and it was even better that the focus wasn't on how the team was doing without him. Instead, it was all about Walter desperately trying to be a part of the mission.
Sure, Walter claimed it was because his team needed him, but it also seemed like Walter just hated being left out. Team Scorpion was doing just fine without Walter, but Walter was going crazy without them.
Now, I'm usually commenting on how I wish that Ralph would get more scenes with (insert Team Scorpion member here). I love seeing Ralph's relationship with everyone. It's usually delightful, and Ralph always makes an episode more entertaining.

That's it! We had our final episode of X Factor auditions tonight, but there was enough time to fit in 16 acts who all wanted to impress the judges. As always, though, some were better than others, so here they all are, ranked from worst to best:
16. Tori V Musekiwa
"That didn't go well, if I'm being honest with you."
15. Unit X
'Pretty Hurts'. So did this.
14. D-Tour
Get points for the most bizarre stage invasion ever, but in general a shame they didn't take a D-Tour round Wembley.
13. Chase Mystery
Is that a name or an instruction? Either way, we'd rather not, thanks.
12. Ollie Marland
The thing is we're not entirely sure we wouldn't rather listen to Shane Richie's 'I'm Your Man' and that can't be a good sign.
11. Andy Taylor
Proof that ice cream makes everything better.
10. Louel
"Have you kissed?" "... Yeah." We need to know more.

Dum-de-dum-de-dum-dum-de-dum-de-dum. The Apprentice 2014 is nearly over, but don't start despairing just yet. We have one mammoth clash of the titans remaining as Mark Wright and Bianca Miller go head-to-head for Lord Sugar's £250k investment.
Only one of them can win the grand prize and they still haven't been told who it is. We caught up with the duo to talk about rivalries, frisbees and gameplaying.
An easy first question - who has the best business plan?
Mark: I don't think my business plan is better, I think I'm more suited to my business plan because of my experience.
Bianca: I think our two business plans are very strong for different reasons. It's apples and pears. Mark knows his business, he's done it before and it's an industry that he knows. I'm doing something new, but it's innovative. They're two very different niches.

Lionsgate is in the process of developing their feature film adaptation of Power Rangers. Roberto Orci (Star Trek Into Darkness) is an executive producer on the project, and Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz (X-Men: First Class, Thor) are currently writing the script.
IGN had an opportunity to speak with Orci about the film, and he talked about how it will connect to the original series:
"One of the first things we did was learn and read... They have 600 pages of research that they have on their stuff. We read through the synopsis of everything they did and we are actually taking into account quite a bit of the canon in a real way. We're not just a leave it behind reboot. [Haim] Saban cares very much about that. This is something that he created. I had to go to his house, personally, to tell him, 'Listen, I'm your man. Miller and Stenz,...

It was recently announce that there will be a new big screen adaptation of The Power Rangers coming in 2016. Roberto Orci (Star Trek Into Darkness) will be executive producing, with Ashley Miller & Zack Stentz (X-Men: First Class, Thor) writing the script.
IGN sat down with Orci and discussed what connections, if any, the new film will have with the old series.
IGN: Presumably it's not tied to the 21-year of history of the show. Are you going to use the same characters from the original series?
Orci: One of the first things we did was learn and read... They have 600 pages of research that they have on their stuff. A quick Power Rangers movie reboot update, as Roberto Orci talks about getting Saban's blessing to press ahead with the film...

The upcoming reboot of the "Power Rangers" franchise at Lionsgate is picking up steam with last week's hiring of "X-Men: First Class" scribes Ashley Miller and Zack Stenz, while "Star Trek" and "Transformers" scribe Roberto Orci has come onboard as executive producer.
Now, Orci has spoken about the project, which is still in very early days yet, and surprisingly reveals that it's Not a reboot but rather a refresh (ala "Doctor Who") as it will exist in continuity with the world of the TV series but serve as a good launching point for newcomers. He tells IGN:

The Muppets are back.
Three years after the characters were successfully re-launched with the Jason Segel-starring "The Muppets," Jim Henson's iconic creations return in an all-new adventure, "Muppets Most Wanted," that has the gang traveling across Europe, unwittingly infiltrated by Constantine (Henson performer Matt Vogel), a world-class criminal who bears a startling resemblance to Kermit. And we've got a hilarious exclusive scene that showcases the type of dynamic Constantine brings to the table.
In the clip, Constantine is hanging out with his No. 2 man, Dominic Badguy (Ricky Gervais), who is posing as the Muppets' international tour manager. They are scheming when Miss Piggy (Muppeteer Eric Jacobsen) interrupts them. "Am I wearing a sign that says 'Bother Me?'" Constantine snaps, in a hardly identifiable European accent. Badguy tells him that they should be "keeping up appearances," which leads Constantine to go after Piggy (and how!) "You're my lady and I'm your man,...

The final 12 on this year's X Factor performed live for the first time last night, with some acts faring better than others. Sam Bailey gave 'The Power of Love' plenty of oomph, while Sam Callahan had to make do with compliments about being so gosh-darn handsome after an awkward 'Summer of '69' cover.
But it was Shelley Smith who had the worst night as she fell victim to the first 'Flash Vote' of the series. Will Sharon Osbourne's mission to finally win the show be off to a rocky start, or will her Overs remain intact after lines close and the judges vote?

Four judges, two presenters, 12 performances, one Flash Vote twist, and just one or two ad breaks, The X Factor live shows got to quite a start with 1980s week.
Below we round up our top five performances from the live shows, and invite you to vote for your own favourite in our poll.
Tamera Foster - 'Ain't Nobody'
We're not quite sure what Sharon thinks is so "exotic" about Tamera, but she's assured, sexy and - helped out by the best song of the evening - was the most professional. Less poe-tential, but the most ready-made talent on week one.
Rough Copy - 'In The Air Tonight'
Nicole was convinced that these guys are the best band she's ever seen on The X Factor. At this early stage, we'd pitch them above Bad Lashes and below Miss Frank, but we very much enjoyed their arrangement of a Phil Collins classic,...

We've already explained just why we love the live shows here, and we're hoping the return of an unedited Shazza will take things to the next level. Can Gary keep up his meanie persona? What words will Nicole make up this year? Will Louis kill off another Motown legend?
Join Digital Spy when The X Factor returns to ITV at 8pm to find out, and let us know your thoughts on the show in the comments box below and via our Twitter feed.
22:19We also have everything crossed for a return of The Group Performance, but either way, we'll be back tomorrow at 8pm, and we hope you can join us. Thanks for reading, and we'll see you then.

21:53Nicole thinks they might be "the best band I've ever seen on this show". "International stars". Well, we might have to rewind this on the Sky+ box and listen again.
21:52Imagine that song with a needless bit of an X Factor key changery.

Tattooed thugs in vests using lasers that look like kids' water guns … Why can't sci-fi films get to grips with what the future might actually be like?
• Elysium: interviews with Matt Damon and director Neill Blomkamp, plus Peter Bradshaw gives his verdict
Immediately after executing yet another monstrous act of unspeakable violence, Sharlto Copley, who plays the villain in the new sci-fi thriller Elysium, says: "That's what I'm talking about." It is the year 2154, yet the sadistic mercenary makes use of an expression that first appeared in a Depression era Fats Waller ditty, and enjoyed a certain vogue in the United States at the dawn of the present millennium, but is now, in 2013, no longer heard that often.
Is this a deliberately "ironic" use of a retro, anachronistic Americanism by a snarky South African scumbag, tantamount to some wiseacre in 2013 reaching back more than a century and exhuming the expression,...

Craig Robinson is a busy guy. The former "Office" star is so busy, in fact, that when he sat down with Moviefone he had to ask which movie we were talking about. That's the new comedy "Peeples," for the record. After he found his footing, Robinson explained why his role as Kerry Washington's boyfriend was important -- and not just because he's playing the love interest of one of Hollywood's hottest (and most in demand) actresses. You were so funny in "Hot Tub Time Machine," and there are a lot of great comedic actors in "Peeples." Did your agent say this is a great movie for people who've done standup? [Director] Tina [Gordon Chism] was pitching it to me, and she talked about David Alan Grier being Virgil Peeples and going head-to-head with him, so in the initial meeting that was really appealing. And then she said something about kissing Kerry Washington and I said,...

Wham! are to reunite for a one-off gig, it has been reported. George Michael and Andrew Ridgeley, who announced their decision to split in 1986, are planning a "pop extravaganza" to celebrate the 30th anniversary of their debut hit, according to The Mirror. An insider told the paper: "They probably won't do a long tour or release new material like Take That but they do want to commemorate the event with a big gig... and an even bigger party afterwards! "Things are still in the early stages but everybody is getting really excited about it." I've been a fan of singer-songwriter (and poet) Leonard Cohen ever since Jennifer Warnes introduced me to his music with her classic album Famous Blue Raincoat. Then came one of his most popular albums, I'm Your Man -- witty, urbane, sexy and moving -- and I was hooked for good. That meant going back to his earlier albums like Songs Of Leonard Cohen, waiting impatiently for new ones (what? he's in a monastery? do they have a recording studio?) and winning over friends to his work, one by one, like a disciple. Strangely, I've never seen him in concert, but thanks to three new DVDs, I have a chance to experience him live and through the perspective of his fellow artists. Bird On A Wire (15 pounds; Tmc) -- At the moment, this DVD is available via director Tony Palmer's...

I'm not a miracle. And neither are the Chilean miners. We are all alive today for perfectly rational reasons. Yet there is a common compulsion to describe unlikely outcomes as miraculous -- if they are happy, of course. If sad, they are simply reported on, or among the believing described as "the will of God." Some disasters are so horrible they don't qualify as the will of God, but as the work of Satan playing for the other team.
The 9/11 tragedy, for example, was described by very few as the will of God, although many blamed it on Satan, and Pat Robertson briefly believed it was God's way of punishing us for our sins. Within Al Qaeda circles, of course, it was seen as the Will of Allah, and, given the competence of the first-time jet pilots, perhaps qualified as miraculous.
Like so many of us, I watched with joy...

Ever since Phish announced that they would be hosting their own three-day festival, which will be taking place on October 30 & 31 and November 1 in Indio, California at the same site as the annual Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, speculation launched immediately about what the band would do for their "musical costume." One of the group's many traditions is to cover a classic album in its entirety on Halloween (past costumes include the Velvet Underground's Loaded and the Who's Quadrophenia), and this year will be no different.
As a way to build anticipation for the Halloween show (and the weekend itself, which is simply being called Festival 8), the band's official Web site currently contains a massive gallery of album covers. Each of these covers will be eliminated one-by-one (via a scary animated axe, complete with horror movie blood) until the last record standing gets crowned the victor. (It should be noted...
