I would love to know how this was done simply because I would like to do it. On a scale of being better than the original it’s not quite up there obviously since the Eurythmics were just awesome when they first came out, but for a computer hardware orchestra this is pretty good. Still, I do want to know just how it was accomplished and what kind of programming is necessary to make this work. Sometimes things like this seem so uniquely awesome that it’s easy to get hyped and want to reproduce them in some way, but the chances

The Eurythmics were a band that didn’t do much initially, but as time has gone forward Annie Lennox has made certain to let one of their most popular tracks, Sweet Dreams, to never be forgotten. It’s been remade and redone several times by a handful of artists but her voice was the first that gave rise to this awesome and somehow haunting song that is still a favorite of many. The Eurythmics had a one-off reunion in 2014 but haven’t gotten back together since. Lennox however is still going as a solo act and still has one of the most

Charlize Theron kicks ass in Atomic Blonde. The film runs out of gas, though...
“Shall we begin…?”
When the trailer for Atomic Blonde first came out several months ago it became one of the highlights in many a cinephile's calendar. It promised a tale of spies and subterfuge, set during the eve of the collapse of the Berlin Wall, with another kick-ass lead role for Charlize Theron forming imagery that had all the makings to be iconic. Consider the fact it was superbly soundtracked to Sweet Dreams by the Eurythmics, almost to the extent of looking like it had be choreographed and tailor-made for that particularly haunting slice of New Wave, it looked like it would be on track to be a surprise summer hit.
There are many things Atomic Blonde does well, very well indeed. First, there’s the overall look of the film – everything about it screams style.

Lennox, 62, blacked out the name of the radio station, but included the full letter on her Facebook page on Thursday.

Note: There are copious spoilers below. Proceed no further if you haven't seen Captain America: Civil War or X-Men: Apocalypse. I'll be the first to admit that I'm not a big superhero movie fan. In fact -- psst! -- I actually think there are far too many of them being churned out these days. Judge me all you want for this, but my relative indifference gives me something of a unique perspective in today's geek-driven movie culture, which has a tendency to focus more on the deeply-interwoven drama between the films' costumed characters and/or adherence to comic-book lore than the directorial eye at work behind the lens. (You can thank -- blame? -- Marvel's serialized approach to their sprawling, prolific McU for that.) And from this more removed vantage point, I can say with an utterly straight face that X-Men: Apocalypse is a better film than Captain America: Civil War...

He says he won't say what order the new films will come out in yet, but they are going to "come out and the way we want to make them" he is proud to say:
"Because we have Deadpool, Gambit, and The New Mutants, which are all equally important to us. After three initial X-Men films (2 Bryan Singer/1 Brett Ratner), some Wolverine origin stories, a rebooted X-Men: First Class, and a continuity-obliterating X-Men: Days Of Future Past, X-Men: Apocalypse represents a “fresh” restarting point for Fox’s iconic franchise. The mistakes of old have been erased (*cough* Brett Ratner *cough*) and Charles Xavier’s team has been redefined (Mystique is good? Angel is bad?), yet, while necessary, all the re-reveals and re-introductions have lost their initial allure. Once again we’re shown an X-Men story where Magneto embraces darkness and it’s up to his mutant friends to talk him off the proverbial ledge (sounds awful familiar). Singer is undoubtably working towards a better cinematic X-Men universe (one decade at a time) here, but you’ll end up feeling like we’ve seen this all before – because, to a certain degree, we have.

Never one to keep her opinion to herself, Annie Lennox has weighed in on the modern feminism movement and it sounds like she’s not all that impressed.
Following her September remarks in which she classified Beyoncé Knowles as “feminist lite,” the “Sweet Dreams” singer clarified what she meant in a new interview.
Annie stated, "I didn't specifically criticize Beyoncé. I was being asked about Beyoncé in the context of feminism, and I was thinking at the time about very impactful feminists that have dedicated their lives to the movement of liberating women and supporting women at the grass roots, and I was saying, 'Well that's one end of the spectrum, and then you have the other end of the spectrum.'"

Johnny Depp is ready to rock. The recently single actor took to the stage with Aerosmith Monday night to shred the guitar with Steven Tyler, Joe Perry and the rest of the legendary crew.

Johnny Depp took to the stage at the MTV Movie Awards on Sunday night, performing two songs with The Black Keys.
After being introduced by Steven Tyler and Joe Perry of Aerosmith and accepting the MTV Generation Award, Depp strummed away on his guitar. He looked every bit the able rocker on the small stage in the middle of the excited crowd. The actor and band performed "Gold on the Ceiling" and "Lonely Boy," off The Black Keys' El Camino.
It's not the first time Depp has shared the stage with famous musicians. He joined good friend Marilyn Manson at the Revolver Golden Gods Awards in April of this year, riffing his way through "Beautiful People" and "Sweet Dreams."
Watch the performances below, followed by a gallery of photos from this year's MTV Movie Awards broadcast. The show was hosted by Russell Brand and included other performances and exclusive footage from "Dark Knight Rises.

Universal City, California — The Black Keys brought Johnny Depp's inner rock star front and center on the stage at Sunday's (June 3) MTV Movie Awards, trading licks with the guitar-wielding (and increasingly tattooed) actor through a steady, polished and rollicking performance of "Gold on the Ceiling."
Depp called the band "up-and-coming legends" as he accepted the Generation Award before joining the band again for "Lonely Boy."
The Black Keys joked that their collaboration with Johnny Depp was forced on them by MTV, but the Generation Award honoree had already impressed the duo with his guitar-slinging skills during rehearsals for their surprise jam session at the Gibson Amphitheatre.

Johnny Depp jammed with Marilyn Manson at the Golden Gods Awards: "Johnny Depp's life took a pretty different turn after he moved to L.A. with his band The Kids to try his hand at rock stardom. But he never quite lost the itch to jam, and last night at the Revolver Golden Gods Awards -- a metal and hard-rock-centric tweak on the Grammys -- he took the stage with an artist who shares his taste in both rock and the macabre: Marilyn Manson. Depp, dressed incognito in a black cowboy hat and boots, joined Manson on stage at the Club Nokia show for Manson's cover of the Eurythmics' 'Sweet Dreams' and his own single 'The Beautiful People.'" It's not movie news, but I found it interesting to see Johnny Depp on guitar for Marilyn Manson during a performance of "Beautiful People" at the 2012 Revolver Golden Gods Awards at the Club Nokia. So, yes, if you were wondering, that is Depp on guitar just above and Manson on his knees in front of him. Depp performed with Manson for "Sweet Dreams" and "Beautiful People", the latter performance you can watch directly below. I don't know... I thought it was pretty cool.

Johnny Depp has performed live on stage with Marilyn Manson in Los Angeles. The Pirates of the Caribbean actor joined the singer's metal band on guitar for the tracks 'The Beautiful People' and 'Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)'. The band were performing at Revolver's Golden Gods 2012 Awards at Club Nokia in La last night (April 11). Many audience members were not aware of Depp's presence on stage, until Manson said: "If you don't recognize my personal friend... my personal saviour, my personal guitar (more)...

Fans of Marilyn Manson were treated to quite the surprise performance at the goth rocker's Los Angeles concert on Wednesday night. The man playing guitar on stage at Club Nokia was none other than actor Johnny Depp.
Depp was on hand for "Sweet Dreams" and "Beautiful People," but didn't try to attract any attention to himself. He wore a big heat and fit in nicely with the rest of Manson's band.
It's unclear if fans at the Revolver Golden Gods Awards immediately noticed, but eventually Manson announced that the actor was in the building. "If you don't recognize my personal friend," the 43-year-old singer said. "My personal savior, my personal guitar hero ... Johnny Depp!"
It's no secret that the duo are good friends. Manson and Depp collaborated on a cover of Carly Simon's 1972 hit "You're So Vain" for Manson's upcoming album, Born Villain.

Sweet dreams are made of Johnny Depp—and Marilyn Manson? The Pirates of the Caribbean star joined Manson onstage during the 2012 Revolver Golden Gods Awards in L.A. Wednesday night. Depp, 48, played electric guitar while Manson, 43, sang "Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)" and "The Beautiful People." Despite being onstage, the actor kept a low profile, wearing all black except for a white feather tucked into his cowboy hat. Manson, however, didn't want his pal to go unnoticed. After they performed the first song together, he announced the actor's presence to the crowd. "If you don't recognize my personal friend… my personal savior, my personal guitar...

Johnny Depp is one of the world's great movie stars. But he can play the role of rock star pretty convincingly, too. The actor, 48, grabbed his guitar and joined Marilyn Manson on stage Wednesday night for a rollicking performance at Revolver magazine's Golden Gods Awards concert at Club Nokia in Los Angeles. But in true Depp style, he played it cool - keeping his head low, almost to the point of being incognito. And indeed, it took a while for the crowd to realize that a Hollywood superstar was in their midst. Related: Justin Bieber, Johnny Depp Pledge Support to...

Tonight the Top 12 girls take the American Idol stage for their first taste at live performance.
And speaking of that stage- again - I had a thought today: Isn't this stage only used, typically, during the semifinalist rounds, which usually last much longer than this year's? Are we going to be seeing this stage again? Or did producers sink a ton of money into renovating this stage for one week of performances? Why do I even care?
These are the things I ponder while driving, y'all. Anyway, let's get to it. The girls have Contestant Cams and we've got songs to hear.
Chelsea Sorrell's up first. I'm from the south, but Chelsea? Chelsea's Southern. So Southern I can barely understand her. She tackles Carrie Underwood's "Cowboy Casanova." When you do a song by an Idol, the same rule applies regarding performing a current hit: you best do it better than the original.

Trailers are an under-appreciated art form insofar that many times they’re seen as vehicles for showing footage, explaining films away, or showing their hand about what moviegoers can expect. Foreign, domestic, independent, big budget: I celebrate all levels of trailers and hopefully this column will satisfactorily give you a baseline of what beta wave I’m operating on, because what better way to hone your skills as a thoughtful moviegoer than by deconstructing these little pieces of advertising? Some of the best authors will tell you that writing a short story is a lot harder than writing a long one, that you have to weigh every sentence. What better medium to see how this theory plays itself out beyond that than with movie trailers? [Rec]³ Génesis Trailer This is the kind of trailer that gets me all jolly. Director/writer Paco Plaza has found a niche that works, and has worked for a few films.

Sam Worthington leaps back into action - with a longer hairdo rather than his Clash crewcut - in the first trailer for Warner Bros sequel Wrath of the Titans.
The trailer is embedded below, and some new posters for the movie are also featured here.
This time, Jonathan Liebesman (Battle: Los Angeles) is in the director's chair and there's a fresh menagerie of mythical beasts roaring and thrashing to the sound of Marilyn Manson's Sweet Dreams.
The monsters include a club-wielding cyclops and - according to one of the posters - the Minotaur, Chimera, Makhai and Titans' leader Kronos.
The good thing is that we may well be seeing some Titans this time. Perhaps not so good is that, like the first film, it's been given a 3D conversion rather than being shot in that format from the start.
The dialogue isn't up to much and the assault of...

From the sublime The Dark Knight Rises trailer comes the ridiculous with Warner Bros. unleashing the Wrath of the Titans trailer to us unexpectedly last night. There was no fanfare for this one, no teaser for a trailer or a viral campaign… just the releasing of the loud and thunderous trailer that gives us a certain deja vu feeling with the original film.
Certainly if you were a fan of the 2009 film, you will be in for a treat here. Just like the first trailer for the utterly horrific Clash of the Titans remake, the unwanted sequel is all crash, bang, wallop with plenty of CGI monsters and hammy dialogue and pre-school level plot specifics that don’t do any justice at all to the real intrigue and depth of these legendary stories. Nor does it live up to the fun of the Ray Harryhausen induced 80′s adaptation.

In a bit of odd timing (considering The Dark Knight Rises trailer was released today), Warner Bros has let loose a second sequel trailer on the same day. This time it’s the first look at Wrath of the Titans, the follow-up to the studio’s much-derided mythology epic remake, 2010’s Clash of the Titans. The faux-3D original was problematic, to say the least, and the admitted blame for its shortcomings was passed from the director (Louis Leterrier) to the producers at Legendary to the actors (namely Sam Worthington).
Yet, Clash of the Titans had a fantastic trailer, one that pumped you up knowing Titans. Will. Clash. to the thumping beats of The Used’s “The Bird and the Worm.” This time, Marilyn Manson’s “Sweet Dreams” cover is the metal accompaniment, for a more moody look at giant monsters and angry gods. The first Titans, plus Immortals and Percy Jackson recently,...

Warner Bros, not content to merely satisfy fanboys with the awesome new "Dark Knight Rises" trailer, has also unleashed a new tease for a sequel that almost no one demanded: "Wrath of the Titans," the follow-up to 2010's abysmal 3D "Clash of the Titans" remake. And while we're not necessarily excited about this new one (how could we be?), it does look marginally more interesting, certainly more expensive, and generally just more than the first film. But, honestly, we're still using Marilyn Manson's cover of "Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)" to make a trailer seem edgier than it actually is? The trailer is pretty much all smash, bang, gooey monster, repeat, although it does eek out some plot specifics: apparently the monstrous titans are unleashed and threatening to overthrow the gods, so Zeus (Liam Neeson, again) talks his son Perseus (Sam Worthington) into helping save the day (we're...

Does Warner Bros. not care if anyone watches the trailer for Wrath of the Titans? Less than an hour after the trailer debut [1] for The Dark Knight Rises -- the most anticipated trailer release in many months -- and at the same time as Fox's first look [2] at Prometheus, the studio has also dropped the first footage of the sequel to Clash of the Titans. Wrath of the Titans looks like it has gone all-out to include as much stuff as possible, but that may just be how the trailer is cut. Check it out below. This sequel is directed by Jonathan Liebesman (Battle: Los Angeles) and seems intent on cramming as many angry, fightin' CGI monsters as possible. A couple of the classic Clash of the Titans elements are in here, like Pegasus and a shaggier, less-militant looking Perseus. Some of the battles do look like fun, even if...

Without skipping a beat from debuting the second Dark Knight Rises trailer, Warner Bros. drops another trailer right on top of us. This time in the form of an action-packed teaser for Wrath of the Titans.
I'm probably one of the biggest detractors for the Clash of the Titans remake. I had high hopes for it, and being that one of my favorite childhood films was the original, I was excited. Then the movie released, and it was a cluttered mess, with zero character development and a plot that'd been cut at too many times.
That didn't stop them from proceeding with a sequel however, and I've been following the production on Wrath of the Titans with skepticism. Now the trailer is out and it's the first look we get on what this film is going to try and deliver:
Honestly...The footage doesn't look too bad. The CGI isn't the best,...
