Harry Potter fans will definitely recognize two familiar faces who met the Queen this week. Actresses Julie Walters, who played Molly Weasley, and Helen McCrory (Narcissa Malfoy) both visited Buckingham Palace on Tuesday to take part in their investiture ceremony. Julie Walters was made a dame (leading us all to question why it took until 2017 for such a national treasure to get the honor) while McCrory was awarded an OBE for her services to drama. Prince’s death in 2016 left his sister Tyka Nelson heartbroken but not exactly surprised. In a new interview on the U.K. chat show Lorraine, the superstar’s sibling claims that she predicted Prince’s death more than three years before the prescription opioid overdose that took his life.
While speaking to the show’s host, Nelson recalled a conversation that left her shaken for years to come. “I was at McDonald’s and I got a phone call from an unknown number,” she says. To her surprise, she heard her famous brother on the other end of the line.

I’ve said many times no one was more Milestone than Dwayne McDuffie. Denys Cowan’s larger than life idea created the company. Dwayne showed up with the details for that idea.
Milestone has made an impact on the comics world to be sure. Most would say comics have had an impact on the world and I would agree.
Just as no one was more Milestone than Dwayne, there was no one more ‘comics’ than Len Wein. That may be my opinion, but I defy anyone who knew Len to prove me wrong. Comics at their best induce moments where you’re living within the world you’re reading about. As an adult, if you’re lucky that feeling will last a few minutes if you achieve it at all.
As a child, those moments lasted hours maybe even longer depending on your level of interest and in my case your level of pain.

“Hostiles,” a sturdy and characteristically brutal new Western from “Black Mass” director Scott Cooper, begins with somebody shooting a baby — that’s not a spoiler, just a warning. The year is 1892, and a settler named Rosalee Quaid (Rosamund Pike) is teaching her young daughters about the magical power of adverbs. Suddenly, their New Mexico homestead is raided by a band of Comanche renegades. They murder her husband, they shoot her two girls, and they fire a bullet directly into her infant son; Rosalee carries the lifeless bundle in her arms for days, because it’s that kind of movie — the only kind that Cooper knows how to make.
A few clicks south, Cavalry Captain Joseph Blocker (Christian Bale, broiling with his usual rage) is treating his Cheyenne prisoners with a similar degree of savagery. The point couldn’t be clearer, even though “Hostiles” spends the next 130 minutes underlining it with...

“Kingdom,” Byron Balasco’s excellent drama series on Audience Network, came to a stunning close Wednesday night. After confirming a painful loss alluded to the week prior and ending on the bruised and battered body of Alvey Kulina (Frank Grillo), post-fight, fans may be struggling to cope with a devastating ending that encouraged introspection more than it provided easy answers.
“The conclusion of the show is about having done the work,” Jonathan Tucker said in an interview with IndieWire. “We have bled, we have cried, we have laughed, and now it’s about allowing the work to find itself; the magic to find itself; the authenticity to find itself.”

Since its inception a few years back, The Flash has continually gripped fans by delivering a well-rounded viewing experience that capably blends superhero storytelling with crazy sci-fi action, riveting drama and a dash of comedy. Plus, it doesn’t shy away from its comic book roots in the slightest, effectively making the dreams of those who adore the source material come true on a weekly basis.
With its third season, the producers delved deeper into the books for inspiration, incorporating Flashpoint as a way of simultaneously changing the landscape and to show Barry Allen that there are consequences for his actions. Throughout it all, Cisco Ramon and Caitlin Snow finally embraced their destinies as Vibe and Killer Frost, respectively, while a new threat emerged in the form of Savitar, the self-proclaimed God of Speed.

Otherwise, Thursday’s penultimate Season 13 episode of Grey’s Anatomy was a pretty tense affair, one that put Grey Sloan into lockdown, landed Stephanie not just in harm’s way but in its grasp, sent Jackson on a massive guilt trip, reduced Owen to tears and had Alex staring down a demon. How did it all shake out? Make yourself comfy on the edge of your seat and read on!

In the final moments of last weeks episode "I Know Who You Are" it was finally revealed of who Savitar was. The end of the episode left a little of a cliffhanger for fans wondering why future Barry Allen would put himself through this much pain. "Cause and Effect" did not waste anytime letting us in on Future Barry's reasoning. In an attempt to destroy Savitar, Barry will create multiple time remnants of himself to combat Savitar. In the battle all but one time remnant will be killed with the lone survivor being sent to the speed force and be stuck there creating Savitar. The rest of the story is so confusing that I had to watch the explanation twice. The creation goes all the way back to Flashpoint like everything this season where Barry has manipulated the timeline so much that the rules of time no longer apply to Barry.

How much you enjoyed the latest episode of The Flash was probably dependent on how frustrated you were that, after last week's big Savitar reveal, it was mostly a filler ep. Personally, I got a huge kick out of watching Barry — excuse me, Bart — Allen try to make his way through the world without knowledge of his identity or his speedster abilities.
For me, this episode proved that The Flash is far more skilled at lighter, standalone episodes than it is with the heavier, serialised plot stuff that it tried to engage at the beginning of the ep. Tell me: Did you have more fun watching Team Flash try...

For a show about the fastest man alive, The Flash doesn't have much momentum anymore. The first of the Arrow spin-offs is still very enjoyable but it is also in a rut. Since the incredibly strong season 1, The Flash has essentially followed the same formula each and every year. The Flash has become so predictable that the "shocking" reveal of Savitar's identity in "I Know Who You Are" verged dangerously close to self-parody. In season 4 The Flash needs to have something of a soft reboot and change things up drastically. Here are four ways the show has grown stale and needs to be fixed in the future.

Last night brought fans of The Flash the moment they’d been waiting an entire season to see: The unmasking of Savitar. And despite cast and crew saying we’d all be surprised when the big reveal came, it turned out that Barry Allen, pretty much everybody’s prime suspect, had been underneath that armor the entire time.
Well, it wasn’t exactly the Barry Allen that we know and love, but rather, a version of him from the future that has snapped for some reason. In the closing minutes of “I Know Who You Are,” the Scarlet Speedster finally put two and two together, recalling choice statements made by the self-proclaimed God of Speed, such as those having to do with saying he created himself. Another doozy was what many probably interpreted as “I’m the future, Flash,” when he was, in fact, saying, “I’m the Future Flash.

This season has been about a lot of things at different points, which has definitely pushed The Flash into some places with episodes that have felt like they possess a different tone. It’s been unusual; yet, it seems like the show is finally bringing things full circle from it’s starting point. A lot of the ebb and flow in The Flash this season has revolved around the love and

There are three episodes left. There is now pretty much a zero chance that The Flash screws this up. I'm not even going to talk about that bonkers final shot yet. Why? Because while it's certainly the biggest moment of I Know Who You Are, it isn't the most important. And this was an episode that was positively packed with important moments, many of which affect the series as a whole, not just this season.
For starters, this is basically a Killer Frost episode. And if you've been reading me since season one, I have consistently preached patience with Killer Frost.

The only problem? Killer Frost, who is already teamed up with Savitar by the time "I Know Who You Are" begins, is also after her. And while one member of Team Flash may have trouble going up against her, she has no problem fighting her former teammates. Oh, and all of this happens in 16 hours.

After being cruelly tantalized a month ago, it seemed like we’d finally learn the truth during last night’s episode of The Flash. But, partway through, it became apparent that the producers were going to dangle that carrot for slightly longer. In fact, I fully admit that I was ready to shout a string of obscenities at my TV screen when the God of Speed removed his armor at the very end and we saw him only from behind.
Fortunately, the promo to follow swiftly curbed my rage as it promised that Savitar will be unmasked in next week’s installment, the appropriately titled “I Know Who You Are.” As a matter of fact, we’re going to do you a solid right now and treat you to an extended version of said trailer,...

After a three week break The Flash returned last night with Barry traveling to the year 2024 to try and gain any advantage he could over Savitar. What Barry wasn't expecting is how bad things would get in the future after the death of Iris. Barry had become so obsessed with finding out how to save Iris that when he does fail it will fracture the team in the future. This season Barry has forgotten about what he has learned about himself since becoming the Flash the he is doing more harm than good for the team. Being obsessed with saving Iris has made him forget to be the superhero that he is and sacrifice his feelings for the good of others. Grant Gustin and Carlos Valdez did an amazing job of transforming to their future selves and showing the hurt and anguish Iris's death brought to the team.

There will be a battle within Team Flash in episode 20 of The Flash season 3, titled "I Know Who You Are," as Vibe and Killer Frost go head to head. Can he stop her and save a scientist who might help them stop Savitar?
The official episode description says, "Vibe faces off against Killer Frost: Barry and the team meet Tracy Brand, a scientist, who may be the key to stopping Savitar. Unfortunately, Killer Frost is also after Tracy, so Team Flash must battle their old friend, which proves to be particularly difficult for Cisco. Joe and Cecile's relationship takes a big turn."...

The Flash‘s Killer Frost is ready to go full villain, doffing the wispy lounge wear in which she escaped S.T.A.R. Labs to slip on fishnets, thigh-high boots and one very cool cape.

In under two weeks, some of our favorite DC TV shows will return to airwaves with new episodes. So, as we continue the sprint toward their respective season finales, it’s only natural that official synopses for each surface well in advance. Given that, we’re able to peer into the future and discuss what’s to come in the first week of May for Supergirl, The Flash and Arrow.
Obviously, we’ll begin with Supergirl, since it’s the first to air. When examining the description, one can’t help but compare Alex being kidnapped by an unknown party to Kara having a price put on her head not long ago. And although Rhea is in this episode, I’m not so sure she’s responsible because this kind of has Cadmus’ stench on it. But, I guess we’ll have to wait and see.

Gene Roddenberry was the genius behind Star Trek, but for the franchise to thrive he had to step away. There are tons of stories out there about how he was difficult to work with, how he butted heads with other creatives, and it got so bad that he was forced out of Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan. Based on the stories I've heard, I would love to see a Gene Roddenberry biopic get made one day.
There's a new book out now called The Fifty-Year Mission: The Complete Uncensored, Unauthorized Oral History of Star Trek – The First 25 Years. In that book, it's revealed one of Roddenberry's early scripts for Star Trek: The Motion Picture had a scene where Captain Kirk fights Jesus Christ.

We're a few weeks ahead of the release of "Star Trek Beyond," and a few months out from the Bryan Fuller-produced new "Star Trek" TV series. Between those events though comes the franchise's 50th anniversary with numerous related works tying into it including a new book from Edward Gross and Mark A. Altman which overs the first twenty-five years of the franchise - namely the original series, the six original cast films, and the launch of "Star Trek: The Next Generation".
An excerpt has just been released by THR covering one of the more interesting times in the franchise - the mid-1970s when it was effectively dead. At the time, Paramount decided to have a go at bringing the franchise to the big screen and asked creator Gene Rodenberry to come up with the movie treatment. The result was an infamous brief dubbed 'The God Thing', one in...

We chatted to the Impractical Jokers about the TV and live shows, pranking and Jason Statham. Fair warning, things got foul-mouthed...
This one got away from me.
The cast of the television show Impractical Jokers (Sal Volcano, Joe Gatto, Brian ‘Q’ Quinn and James ‘Murr’ Murray) were in London for their first ever live UK performances and Den of Geek had managed to grab a little time with them ahead of the shows. In our excitement over what we expected would be a fun interview we had failed to consider the possible difficulties.
It turns out that interviewing four comedians at the same time is hard work. Typing up my recording afterwards was like trying to transcribe a riot. If a regular interview is like fishing (it’s not) then interviewing the Impractical Jokers was like attempting to lasso four octopuses with the same piece of rope.

So what better way to celebrate than to read through our weekly list of callbacks, allusions, shared themes and generally interesting (if tenuous) nonsense? As ever, feel free to leave your own contributions in the comments below!
The Old-Who Invasion
This is the third appearance of the Zygons in Doctor Who; they first menaced the fourth Doctor in 1975’s Terror Of The Zygons, a story which revealed the Loch Ness Monster to be one of the Skarasen, a race from the Zygon homeworld. Unit also featured in that tale, with Kate’s father Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart revealing his Scots heritage in a fetching kilt.
