Frank Skinner has said that Fantasy Football League is "no longer required" nowadays.
The stand-up comic - who co-hosted the comedy football series with David Baddiel in the 1990s - said that there are currently plenty of other outlets for their style of show.
"I like that people [still] like Fantasy Football," he told Digital Spy. "You don't need it any more.
"Match of the Day 2 is quite comic, and there's Soccer Am and League of Their Own. Saint and Greavesey were the two pioneers of football comedy, but we continued the tradition.
He continued: "There's almost no serious stuff. Even on Sky they feel they have to do gags in the punditry bits. I think it's no longer required.
"When we were showing funny football clips, there was no internet. But now – just go on YouTube."

A sequel to 2001's Mike Bassett: England Manager will begin shooting later this year.
Titled Mike Bassett: Interim Manager, the comedy will see Ricky Tomlinson reprise his role as the fictional football coach as he's brought back into the national team setup to assist German coach Jorgen Mannstein.
Steve Barron, who directed the first film, will return to oversee the sequel alongside screenwriters Rob Sprackling and John R Smith.
"Bassett was the last England manager to take the national team to Brazil. We reached the semis then, who knows what we could achieve this time?" Barron said.
Footballer and actor Andy Ansah, who starred in Dream Team and coined Soccer Am's "unbelievable tekkers" segment, is so far the only other cast member confirmed to return from the previous film.
"As the years have gone by, Bassett seems to have dug deeper into football folklore," Barron added of the hapless fictional coach.

As the transfer window inches shut and we welcome back actual football, the battle lines on the airwaves and TV screens have been drawn.
BT and Sky are battling it out on the telly, while Absolute, talkSPORT and the Beeb scuffle over radio. Max Rushden has a foot in a couple of camps, presenting a show on talkSPORT and heading up Soccer Am with Helen Chamberlain.

Life on the road has taken its toll on Meat Loaf, who's now on his second new knee. But will this coming tour really be his last? He talks about high Cs, being signed for $6 and outwellying Wagner
A decade ago, Meat Loaf was invited on to Sky Sports' Saturday morning show Soccer Am. He didn't know anything about football, but being an actor by background, he did what actors do – he prepared. First, he knew he needed a club to support. "I thought, I don't want to go on and say I'm a Manchester United fan or a Liverpool fan – I'm gonna go down to the third level. And so I picked Hartlepool. I read about them and I found that the people of Hartlepool had hanged a monkey thinking he was a Frenchman, and I loved that story. I read everything I could about every game they played.

Chris Ramsey was kicked off Soccer Am yesterday (November 17) after using offensive language. The comedian used the word "bumming" twice on air during a guest appearance on the Saturday morning football show and as a result was ejected from the studio. In terms of film, 1978's 'Superman' has been the be-all end-all when it comes to canon. The last theatrical film with the character, director Bryan Singer's 'Superman Returns' played into the already established universe. With director Zack Snyder's upcoming 'Man of Steel,' the universe is new again, and its fixtures are to be rearranged. In the older films, actor Terence Stamp's General Zod was caught up in a Kryptonian prison called "The Phantom Zone." The new Zod, Michael Shannon was recently interviewed on the Soccer Am television show. Questioned about the Phantom Zone, he replied: "Yeah, that whole set-up is going to be a little different, too. It's all going to be a little different." He obviously didn't get too in depth, but his answer at least suggests that the Phantom Zone plays a part in Snyder's film. It's no surprise...

Michael Shannon, who is currently shooting scenes as General Zod in the upcoming "Superman" reboot, called "Man of Steel," sat down with UK's Soccer Am to talk about playing the villainous character. The interview was very light, with jokes flying around about whether Zod will have laser eyes in the film. Shannon doesn't really answer, just keeps expressing admiration for Terence Stamp, who previously played the character. But when Shannon was asked if The Phantom Zone, a crystal rectangle that trapped Zod in "Superman 2," will make appearance in "Man of Steel," the actor replied: "That whole set up is going to be different." Watch the video below to see the actor seemingly confirm The Phantom Zone. Click here to read more about "Man of Steel."...

Cinema's worst movement ever has hit rock bottom with a film so grim even the strong-stomached Pete Cashmore couldn't make it up … though he has a go with this handy horror Spot The Fake
Given the sheer, ruptured-sewage-pipe deluge of gore, mutilation and general unpleasantness that has come to comprise the peculiar sub-genre of horror known as "torture porn", it seems hard to believe that it is barely half a decade old. But if we take its birthdate as the Us cinematic release of Saw (and not, if we were being pedantic, the 1997 release date of the vastly-superior-in-every-way Canadian mathematical gore-thriller Cube, way too good a film to be credited with any kind of indirect responsibility for the existence of cretinous bilge like Hostel 2), then torture porn will turn six in October.
