Aleisha Allen charmed her way into many hearts with her multipotentiality as a child performer. An early bloomer, Allen was barely out of diapers when she began modeling and appearing in television ads. She later picked interest in acting as a six-year-old, voicing a character in the popular 1990s’ Blue’s Clues children’s television series. Aside from her role in Blue’s Clues which is notably her biggest offering as an actress, Aleisha Allen also starred in other notable projects such as Out of the Box, School of Rock, Are We There Yet? and Are We Done Yet? Additionally, the former child...

Midland chronicle the misadventures of “Mr. Lonely,” played to the comedic hilt by Dennis Quaid, in their riotous new video. The track is the first single from the trio’s upcoming album.
Embracing the titular character’s greasy charm and penchant for philandering, Quaid leaves one stranger’s bed in search of the next. He saunters into a bar — Midland members Mark Wystrach, Cameron Duddy and Jess Carson are there setting up their gear as “Drinkin’ Problem” pours from the jukebox — with the collar popped on his denim jacket, scanning the room.

Dennis Quaid’s career is bustin’ out all over. The actor-turned-rocker demonstrated his range Saturday night, taking the stage at Los Angeles music club the Mint with his band The Sharks. The group delivered a raucous set that had the audience of more than 200 on its feet as Quaid danced through the crowd, belted like a Delta bluesman and briefly abandoned his acoustic guitar to tackle the keyboard with flying fingers, his denim-clad derriere, his chest and the heels of his cowboy boots. The over-the-the top physical display – a nod to Jerry Lee Lewis, who Quaid portrayed in 1989’s “Great Balls of Fire!” – was an apt metaphor for a guy whose debut album is “Out of the Box.”
Quaid’s unboxed activities include narrating iHeart Media’s new “Bear and a Banjo” podcast, announced Sunday, March 10, at SXSW. “I’m really excited about it, because podcasting is a new medium...

A veteran music supervisor for television and movies, Jennifer Pyken landed her first Emmy nomination for her work on NBC’s “This Is Us.” This native New Yorker-turned-Valley Girl started out as an Island Records intern and continues to showcase her diverse musical range with the Netflix teen comedy, “The Package,” which bowed Aug. 10.
This is only the second year that music supervisors have even been eligible for Emmys. Why do you think it took so long to receive recognition?
People sometimes think of music as an afterthought — but it’s so important. Our guild is fairly new: It’s six years old. So we had to go and explain to them what we do and how much we put into the show and what the process is. And by doing that, they were able to get that as a new category. It took a little bit of work.

Many of us grew up with TV shows on Disney Channel, planning our Friday nights around the premiere of every single new Disney Channel Original Movie. We laughed, we cried and we prayed that our secret twin sibling would show up out of nowhere, while simultaneously finding out that our mother was born a leprechaun.
The last few years have given all Disney Channel kids hope with the return of That’s So Raven and Boy Meets World via their respective spinoffs, Raven’s Home and Girl Meets World. (Adult Shawn Hunter, anyone?) If you love baby Sarah Jessica Parker and the Sanderson sisters as much as the rest of the world, you probably jumped for joy when a Hocus Pocus remake was announced. Oh, and who can forget the huge news that the Wildcats will return to East High in High School Musical 4?

“I don’t know people who are just the right balance of quirky, I only know people who are too much,” John Early tells Et.
It’s easily a sentiment that applies to the indelible characters Early has already created in his relatively short yet rising career -- most notably the shameless narcissist-turned-murder accomplice Elliott Goss on the TBS black comedy Search Party. The series, which returned for an even darker and more hilarious second season in November, sees Elliott unraveling in spectacular fashion -- making 2017 another standout year for the actor.
“I was really touched when I read all the scripts for this season,” Early tells Et of returning to Search Party, which also stars Alia Shawkat, Meredith Hagner, John Reynolds and Brandon Micheal Hall. “I just felt like [co-creators Charles Rogers and Sarah-Violet Bliss] knew that I would have so much fun sh*tting in my pants, having a rash and watching my hair fall out.”

When Molly Bernard -- a newcomer at the time, with a few TV credits to her name -- was first cast on Younger, it was only to be in a handful of scenes. In fact, her audition -- just six lines -- involved a discussion about Liza’s (Sutton Foster) lower body landscaping. But the locker room scene served as an early indication of what Darren Star’s creation would excel best at: multigenerational female bonding and a frank depiction of sexuality. Eventually, the TV Land series would feature moments like tram sex, with Hilary Duff’s character, Kelsey, in an outrageous encounter over Roosevelt Island, and more of Bernard as the scene-stealing Lauren, a pansexual, sex-positive millennial publicist and friend to Liza and Kelsey.
Over the course of the series, Lauren would introduce her friends to the “bad pancake” dating theory, host her own bat mitzvah, convince Liza to sell her used panties and often run away with...

Long before Sony’s PlayStation 4 landed on the front lines of the next-gen console war earlier this month, it was decided it would be a gamer-focused platform, while Microsoft’s Xbox One would be an all-in-one entertainment device. Due in no small part to the latter’s early — but later-reversed — unpopular policies regarding used games and an always-online connection, as well as Microsoft’s own marketing, this was, for better or worse, the defining distinction made between the two boxes.
It’s ironic, then, that I’ve had more fun with the Xbox One’s first-party launch lineup than I...

If you know of stage play more perfectly realized than Out of the Box Theatre's polished realization of Terence Rattigan's Separate Tables, let me know and I will rush to see it. However, that is unlikely, as co-directors Lin Snider and Justin Bennett have created a profound rarity indeed: a flawless production. Everything about this rendering of Rattigan's play, which opened in London in 1954 and on Broadway in 1956, is sheer perfection: every performance, the set, the costumes, the invisible effortless direction, the brief musical interludes -- all make for one of the most exhilarating evenings of theater I have ever experienced. It is unfortunate that such a fine production was limited to only six performances: a production of this outstanding caliber deserved a much longer run,...

J.R. Ewing may have been laid to rest on Monday night's "Dallas," but don't expect the legendary character, who was played by the late Larry Hagman, to become less important on the show.
"It's not like the character is going to disappear," Patrick Duffy, who plays Bobby Ewing, told Access Hollywood over the weekend at the Paley Center, as he showed off the J.R. "It's not like the character is going to disappear," Patrick Duffy, who plays Bobby Ewing, told Access Hollywood over the weekend at the Paley Center, as he showed off the J.R. O2 and Htc have said that in the first ever trial of 'charger-free' sales of mobile phones, 82% of consumers took "the greener option" of a new phone without a charger included. The Telefonica-owned mobile network and Taiwanese handset maker have been jointly running a pilot scheme called "Charger Out Of The Box", involving the Htc One X+ phone being sold at O2 stores without a Usb charger in the box. They said today that 82% of those who bought a charger-free One X+ through O2 did not take up the option of buying a separate charger, exceeding O2's initial target of 70%. O2 said that the positive response to the scheme "paves the way" for it to take all chargers out of the box by 2015. The initiative was launched by O2 in September last year after research suggested that there are up to 100 million unused chargers across the UK. Many (more...

Farah Khan has recently been busy promoting her upcoming home production, the Akshay Kumar-Sonakshi Sinha starrer Joker. She was seen with three “aliens” at the unveiling of the Icc World T20 Trophy event along with cricketer Irfan Pathan.
Joker, which is written and directed by Farah Khan’s husband Shirish Kunder, promises to be an out-of-the-box film experience. It is about a neglected village called Paglapur which cannot be found anywhere on the Indian map. In order to draw the government’s attention towards the village, Akshay Kumar creates some drama (and no doubt, some comedy) involving aliens.
In keeping with the film’s “alien” nature, the makers have opted for an out-of-the-box promotional strategy.
“We along with Utv Motion Pictures and Akshay Kumar have decided that we will do out-of-the-box promotions for this film. We don’t want to promote the film in a regular way like going on city tours,...

Not Suitable for Children, the debut feature from Academy Award-nominated director, Peter Templeman, has an uncredited star: Sydney itself. The city.s Inner West features heavily in the film about a young party boy, Ryan Kwanten, who sets out to have a child before he becomes infertile.
.I really wanted to try to convey Newtown and Erskineville and the West in the most authentic way possible. That.s a main character in the film for sure,. Templeman said. .It.s such a vibrant, diverse area. There.s the urban, bustling thing but it.s also green and leafy as well. It.s got great energy. Once we knew that we.d be shooting in Sydney there was no other choice. It had to be Newtown and Erskineville.. For almost twenty years, Sony has been a dominant force in the gaming industry. Starting with the first Playstation released in 1994, the tech giant focused on core gamers with technology that focused on pushing the boundaries of cinematics in gaming. Today, Sony continues to demonstrate its dedication to gaming with the PS3 and Sony Ps Vita.
In the tablet market, Sony would seem to be the ideal candidate to steal market share from the competition. Drawing on the first Playstation’s content roster as well as the company’s tech savvy when it comes to display screens, the Sony Table S is designed with gamers in mind, especially those that already on a PS3. Ergonomically constructed and now shipping with Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0), the Sony S Andoid tablet breaks into its own space in the tablet market. The following contains spoilers from Thursday night’s Big Bang Theory season finale.
When all was said and done, The Big Bang Theory‘s Season 5 finale was, quite literally, out of this world, as Howard “Froot Loops” Wolowitz blasted off into space – but not before tying the knot with Bernadette in an impromptu, makeshift (and quite sweet) rooftop wedding. And the final scene, as TVLine first told you, probably had more than one viewer out there letting slip with a big, “Awww.”
But what happens next for the Big Bang gang? For how long will Howie be a space case?...

Because The Big Bang Theory knows how to send its own show out with a big “bang,” for its 5th season finale it invited Nasa astronaut Mike Massimino to make a special guest appearance. The timing was perfect. In the upcoming episode entitled “The Countdown Reflection,” Howard Wolowitz (played by Simon Helberg) is given the chance of a lifetime — to go into space. Assisting, coaching and a times heckling Howard, Mike Massimino plays himself and clearly has a ball in the process. Being one of the few men privileged enough to travel into space, Mike knows that no man – even one on the verge of getting married – can resist the temptation of outer space. The finale wrestles with the conflict of Howard as he is torn between the call to venture beyond Earth’s borders, and his own personal happiness with his intended bride Bernadette (Melissa Rauch). The tug-of-war of...

Eddie McClintock photographed by Clinton Gaughran for AfterElton
It's no secret that we're big fans of Eddie McClintock around here. The sexy star of Warehouse 13 has not one, not two, but three photo galleries on our Facebook page, and had us tuning in to the show long before they ever introduced a gay character last year. The former wrestler from Ohio is loudly pro-equality, with a wicked sense of humor that comes from a genuine place in his heart. He recently spoke with me about the show, playing gay on Felicity, growing up in the Midwest, his family, and the created family he now has on Warehouse 13. He even invited us into his home for a revealing photo shoot. This is obviously the beginning of my campaign to have him in our Hot 100 this year.

Should The Vampire Diaries be renewed for Season 4, and there’s no point pretending it’s not a sure thing at this point, what would be in store for Elena, Stefan, Damon, and the rest of the cast? Will there be a new villain to tangle with? Will romance be blooming? What about the characters themselves? Will we see interesting developments in their individual storylines, the likes of which will leave us talking and speculating for days? The answer, thankfully, is yes to all of these things. Season 4 is already looking to be a continuation of the epic, fast-paced story telling The Vampire Diaries has come to be known for.
Executive producer Julie Plec spoke at Warner Bros. TV’s Television: Out of the Box exhibit, saying the writers’ room was already abuzz with new ideas and potential directions the show could go in the fourth season. Despite lack of any official word regarding renewal,...

Though the future of "Fringe" still hangs in the balance over at Fox, the writers, like the fans, aren't quite ready to give up the hope of a Season 5. Zap2it spoke with series star Lance Reddick at Warner Bros.' Television Out of the Box exhibit at the Paley Center in Beverly Hills this week, and he filled us in on a little secret: There are two potential endings.
As Joshua Jackson and John Noble told us, the Season 4 finale will answer fans' major questions, giving some closure to the story that we've seen thus far. We'll be satisfied by where a lot of the key relationships wind up -- particularly for Peter, Olivia, and Walter.
There is still a chance that Fox will greenlight a Season 5, and it's looking likely that "Fringe" may get a 13-episode final season to give fans a chance to say goodbye. If this is the case,...

Zap2it recently gave "Vampire Diaries" fans a sneak peek at the upcoming decade dance episode, but one photo had us particularly worried. In this shot, Elena (Nina Dobrev) looks beautiful in her 1920s garb -- but she's clearly not having a good night as she breaks down crying in the arms of her date, Stefan (Paul Wesley).
She's got an injury, unless that's someone else's blood on the cloth in her hand, but we know Elena isn't the type to cry over her own bloodshed. We caught up with executive producer Julie Plec at Warner Bros' Television Out of the Box opening at the Paley Center in Beverly Hills on Thursday night to find out why Elena will be so horribly distraught.
Is it a my-love-life-is-a-disaster cry? A someone-i-love-just-died-in-the-gym cry?
"It's an 'a lot has happened in our lives, a lot has torn us apart' cry," Plec says. "A...

"Vampire Diaries" may be on hiatus until April 19, but Zap2it is still on the hunt for spoilers! We caught up with executive producer Julie Plec at the big opening night party for Warner Bros.' Television Out of the Box exhibit at the Paley Center in Beverly Hills. And yes, we made sure to get some details on what's to come for Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Elena (Nina Dobrev).
There's no denying that Damon and Elena haven't been on the best of terms over the last few weeks. He put some walls up after she rejected his big "I love you" at the ball, and she's not pleased with some of his decisions -- particularly his keeping company with Rebekah and the thing where he turned her best friend's mom into a vampire.

The CW hasn't announced a pickup for Season 4 of "The Vampire Diaries" yet, but fans can rest easy -- there is zero chance that the network would cancel its best-rated drama. Though the show is sure to be back, we also know that not every cast member will return for Season 4.
With Jeremy in Denver, Steven R. McQueen has been largely missing in action from Season 3. He makes his triumphant return on April 19, when Elena and Damon visit him -- and yes, he is returning to Mystic Falls with his sister.
Still since he missed out on so much of Season 3, we had our doubts about whether he'd rejoin the cast full-time next year.
