Hollywood often pushes actors into unusual situations, and Amy Smart also had a similar experience while working on the 2003 film The Battle of Shaker Heights. Starring Smart, alongside Shia Labeouf and Elden Henson, the film follows two teenage friends who devise historical battle tactics to confront school bullies, however, complications arise when one of them develops feelings for his friend’s older sister.

Smart portrayed the older sister Tabby, and the 15-year-old Labeouf played Kelly, who becomes infatuated with Tabby and shares a kiss with her in one of the scenes. Recollecting the experience, the Just Friends star admitted feeling uncomfortable kissing a teenager for the film.

The set up for the show version? Glover and Erskine are two strangers who both get jobs at a shady spy agency and are asked to get married so that they can pretend to be a couple undercover, but things get more complicated when they start falling in love for real. Uh oh!

The two-minute spot sees the actors seemingly reprise their roles of Chris Brander and Jamie Palamino from the 2005 rom-com about a man who makes it out of the friendzone 10 years after confessing his love for his best friend.
“Oh, hey, honey, I was just looking at the tree. Nothing like the smell of real pine,” Reynolds tells his onscreen wife at the start of the commercial. “Oh, I love our pine tree,” she replies. “How was work?” he asks her. “Mm, I’ve had better days. From “House Bunny” and “Hot Chick,” to “Just Friends” and the “Scary Movie” franchise, it seems that just about every project Anna Faris touches becomes a cult classic. And she’s very thankful for it – but it wasn’t always that way.
Speaking to “UnWrapped” hosts Emily Vogel and Andi Ortiz, Faris admitted that, while she always recognized how lucky she was to have landed the “Scary Movie” franchise on her first audition, there was some resentment of what it did for her career after the fact.

And I felt resentful to — like, after a while, it felt like, ‘Why can’t I get that audition?’ You know, ‘Why can’t I at least audition for whatever...

Remember “Fat Monica”? Every now and again, in Friends, there’d be a flashback scene. Encased in a fat suit and holding a doughnut, Courteney Cox would dance, while the laugh track whooped and shrieked. That laughter confirmed that the flashback character was created for one purpose only: to be a big joke. As the ultimate embodiment of the “before” to older Monica’s stick-thin “after”, “Fat Monica” imprinted onto the minds of millennials everywhere the idea that attractiveness relied on extreme weight loss. But Cox was far from the only one donning a fat suit in the Noughties. There was Gwyneth Paltrow in Shallow Hal, Mike Myers in Austin Powers, Ryan Reynolds in Just Friends, and both Elizabeth Moss and January Jones in Mad Men. And don’t forget the cross-dressing fat suit “comedies”. Eddie Murphy as foul-mouthed bully Rasputia in Norbit; John Travolta as agoraphobic Edna Turnblad in...

For fans of "Spirited," the Christmas movie musical starring Will Ferrell and Ryan Reynolds, Santa is delivering an early gift this year. As was announced via Deadline, Apple Original Films will be showing a special theatrical release of "Spirited," complete with a sing-along track for optimal audience participation. "Spirited" was previously given a limited theatrical release the week prior to its streaming availability on Apple TV+ back in November, but this new release will include stylized lyrics on screen, just like what you'd see on a karaoke screen, with each word highlighted in time to allow audience members to sing along.

Ryan Reynolds must sure love Christmas. Not only did he co-star in the holiday rom-com Just Friends, but he also has the A Christmas Carol spin Spirited in theaters and on Apple TV+ (read our review here). Oh, and he wrote a Deadpool Christmas movie, which Santa really needs to pull through on!
As he revealed in a new interview, Ryan Reynolds has indeed co-scripted a Deadpool holiday movie. “Four years ago [Deadpool co-writers] Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick and I wrote a Christmas movie starring Deadpool. But it got lost in the shuffle of Disney acquiring Fox and it never got made.” That Reynolds pulled this out of his sack during the holiday season makes this a tantalizing tease for fans of the Merc with a Mouth.

Before streaming, cable television never let us down on delivering seasonally themed content. Back when we'd watch an episode a week for a season spanning several months, it was common for sitcoms or other shows to shift gears in the latter part of the calendar year to a string of holiday specials. Under the binge model that dominated early streaming, however, it felt to me like we lost this tradition for a while, as showrunners could not as easily plan for the holidays if the audience was watching entire seasons in a weekend.
When I was growing up, the Walt Disney Company was a strong contributor to the holiday spirit in my home through original movies and special episodes on Disney Channel or through ABC Family's (now Freeform's) "25 Days of Christmas" and "13 Nights of Halloween" extended movie marathons. Another summer of content has come and gone in the streaming world. And to celebrate the arrival of fall, Netflix is filling its list of new releases for September 2022 with, what else? More content!
Netflix is never shy about loading up its servers each month but September 2022 is a particularly packed time for the streamer, particularly when it comes to movies. The list of prominent Netflix original movies includes: road trip thriller End of the Road (Sept. 9), Maya Hawke and Camila Mendes-starring dark comedy Do Revenge (Sept. 16), and the Marilyn Monroe epic biopic Blonde (Sept. 28).
That’s not even to mention the usual arrival of new library titles, which are particularly juicy this fall. September 1 sees the arrival of A Clockwork Orange, Clueless, Scarface, and more. Meanwhile This is the End is set to roll on Sept. 16.

Aaron Raitiere excels at writing the kind of country songs that blend a biting sense of humor with a little something extra, like the righteous indignation of Caylee Hammack’s spiky “Just Friends” or the winking desire of Maren Morris’ “Tall Guys.” The Kentucky singer-songwriter brings all of this to the fore on his new solo album Single Wide Dreamer, shuffling through a group of songs that convey empathy and humor alike, in the tradition of John Prine or wordplay master Roger Miller.

The Walking Dead is embracing the Commonwealth of late as we approach the end of the AMC hit.
One of the most vital aspects of the Commonwealth arc is Josh Hamilton's Lance Hornsby.
If you watch The Walking Dead online, you know Lance has been vocal about wanting to reel in the other communities.
TV Fanatic got the chance to speak to Hamilton about his character.
"The most enjoyable thing is just his complications," Hamilton says of playing such a multi-layered character, adding that he likes the question surrounding his actions.
"Is he a good guy? Is he a bad guy? I mean, maybe that's not so tricky to figure out, but I think his motivations are complicated even to himself."
The actor added that Lance is ambitious, but cautions that his motivations are more complicated than what we see on the surface.

Often dismissed for their old-fashioned ways, classic films should be applauded for those very qualities. For better—and sometimes for a lot worse—movies operate as de facto documentaries of their generation, and none more so than the string of depression-era comedies produced under the most un-comical circumstances. Those two-reelers featured bankable stars at center stage but lingering on the sidelines were the dime a dozen extras who came to California looking for work and found it in, of all places, Hollywood. Brutalized by their circumstances, these migrants would not have been out of place in a Walker Evans photograph—instead those careworn faces would be documented by the likes of Mack Sennett and Hal Roach. The Critic's Choice Awards have been postponed, "John Wick: Chapter 4" has been delayed until 2023, the Omicron variant of Covid-19 is spreading faster than a click-bait headline about a Marvel movie, and "Titane" was snubbed from the Oscars shortlist. I already dipped into my usual holiday feel-good films like "The Muppets Christmas Carol" and goofy rom-coms like "Just Friends," but with each day bringing its own fresh...

The Walking Dead may be coming to an end with an expanded final season, but it may not mean the end of Negan.
Jeffrey Dean Morgan teased to TV Line that a spinoff featuring the former leader of the Saviors could be made.
“There’ve been things discussed with me and network people,” he explained to the outlet.
“We’ll see. I mean, Negan could still find his way six feet under [before Season 11 concludes], so that could be a problem unless it’s a prequel."
“But there are still stories to be told with Negan,” he adds.
“I kind of know how the season has worked itself so far, and we’re cracking open windows here and there that would lend themselves to more Negan story.”
The star revealed that he would definitely be open to the idea of spinning the character off into his own project.
“I do love Negan,” he says.

It took Ryan Reynolds a long time to ascend to the top of the Hollywood A-list, where he’s now firmly entrenched as one of the biggest and most popular stars in the industry. To get there, though, he followed the path taken by many actors before him by catching his big break in a TV sitcom ahead of making the jump to the big screen.
Following that, he scored his first major leading role in Van Wilder: Party Liaison, and mixed it up in genre flicks Blade: Trinity and the Amityville Horror remake before solidifying his comic chops in Waiting… and Just Friends, both of which did solid business at the box office relative to their respective budgets.
Somewhat surprisingly, 2009’s X-Men Origins: Wolverine remained the biggest commercial hit of his career until Deadpool finally arrived seven years later, but the same year he played Wade Wilson for the...

Next month, Netflix is rolling out a ton of great new Halloween-themed content, including a bunch of must-see originals like The Haunting of Bly Manor, A Babysitter’s Guide to Monster Hunting and Rebecca. Unfortunately, though, it’s also losing a lot of horror films in October that would’ve made for perfect seasonal viewing.
On October 2nd, both Cult of Chucky – the last Chucky flick before the reboot – and Truth or Dare – that’s the 2017 TV movie, not the 2018 Blumhouse production – are being removed from Netflix’s library. The bulk of the horror titles leaving in October are, ironically, being removed on October 31st, though. So, if you’re hoping to do an Underworld marathon this Halloween or rewatch classics like Tim Burton’s Sleepy Hollow or The Silence of the Lambs, make sure you don’t leave it until the day itself.

Early in Caylee Hammack’s career as a staff songwriter with Universal, she was on a writers’ retreat in Florida when she got the news that her house in Nashville had burned down. She lost nearly everything.
Fortunately, the 26-year-old Ellaville, Georgia, native had already learned a few things about resilience. She regrouped and came back stronger, wiser. With Thomas Finchum and Andy Skibb, she wrote the song “Forged in the Fire” about the experience and all the questions she had afterward. “When does a phoenix learn how to fly?...

Two underrated Ryan Reynolds movies, Buried and Definitely, Maybe, are now streaming on Prime/Hulu and Netflix, respectively.
About two decades ago, Reynolds’ only claim to fame was a little sitcom titled Two Guys and a Girl. An uninspired show which tried to imitate iconic comedies of the time, it hardly predicted the future that was in store for one of the two male leads. In the years that followed, Reynolds would star in numerous roles, some good, some bad.
Honing his comedic timing through films like Just Friends, The Proposal and The Change-Up, the actor eventually landed the part of Deadpool. Rectifying the mistakes made during the atrocious X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Reynolds delivered a film that honored the zany comic strips on which it was based, and gave Fox a franchise that could rival even Marvel’s.
If that isn’t enough of a testament to his skill as an actor,...
