There are a few unwritten rules for weddings. One, don’t wear white unless you’re the bride. Two, don’t make a speech unless you are specifically told to do so. And three, this is not your day. By all accounts, Jeremy Renner followed all of these at the wedding of fellow Avenger Chris Evans, but many of his friends and MCU stars couldn’t help but put a spotlight on the actor, who has made one hell of a recovery following his January 1st, 2023 accident.
Speaking on Jeremy Renner’s recovery and just how far he has come in that time, Avengers co-star Robert Downey Jr. said, “If there’s one characteristic we’d all agree is paramount…it’s resilience. To see Renner embody that literally, and in the context of what was basically a Portuguese American wedding, was mind-blowing. Fully recovered and ready to celebrate. So,...

Hollywood stars Chris Hemsworth and Robert Downey Jr are celebrating their ‘Avenger’ co-star Jeremy Renner’s recovery after his 2023 fatal snow plow accident. Hemsworth and Downey Jr said in a new interview that the crew is still in contact with each other via a group text chain, which is how they initially found out about Renner’s accident.
“He sent us all a sort of a doped out, hospital, beat-up image and said, ‘All good, guys.’ And then I didn’t hear from him for a while as he was in the thick of it,” Hemsworth said in an interview with Vanity Fair, reports deadline.com.
Last year in September, Renner attended Chris Evans’ wedding, where they all praised him for his recovery.

These days, many fans know Mark Ruffalo for two major reasons. First is his portrayal of the mighty green Avenger, The Hulk, and second is hilariously giving away major plot points from whatever movie he stars in. However, his fanbase extends beyond the realm of gamma radiation and super strength.

The MCU itself is a global phenomenon, having raked in a staggering $30 billion at the global box office. However, Ruffalo, one of its most important cast members, does not believe that the MCU is his biggest claim to fame.

When it comes to protecting his IPs, Kevin Feige is no less than a clucking mother hen, and Captain America might just be the biggest egg in the basket. After Chris Evans’ swan song moment in Avengers: Endgame, the IP became as invaluable as first-edition art – treasured enough to be left as is but popular enough to be replicated.

Tom Hiddleston has something to say about his return as Loki in the MCU. When asked about coming back as Loki, the Marvel star kept things vague. Is he teasing a big comeback, or has Loki’s story really come to an end?
Tom Hiddleston as Loki in Marvel
In a big series finale moment, Loki gives up his life to save the multiverse. He destroys the Tva’s time machine (the Temporal Loom), which controls the main timeline, and takes on a new role.
Without the Loom, lots of new timelines appear. With his new power, Loki becomes the ‘God of Stories,’ connecting these timelines to keep the multiverse steady.
Suggested“I might not be allowed to tell you”: Tom Hiddleston Isn’t Even Allowed to Confirm if Loki Will Return in Upcoming Marvel Movie
This ending ties up Loki’s story nicely, but leaves his next steps a mystery.

Marvel is witnessing how big of a hole Robert Downey Jr. left in the MCU when his character heroically died in Avengers: Endgame. Most of the projects post-Endgame show a declining trend in audience interest in the films.
While this is a universal trend across Cbm films now, returning superheroes notably get a more positive reception. Fans have been suggesting that Marvel bring back Downey Jr. as Iron Man for the same reason.
Fans got back their hope after Robert Downey Jr.’s recent tease about Iron Man (credits: The Avengers)
While it was largely believed that the Oppenheimer actor wouldn’t return to the role, especially after his Oscar win, it appears that Downey Jr. would happily accept the Iron Man suit any day. His Avengers co-star has already laid out a plan for the same.

Avengers 5: Fans Are Worried That MCU is Moving on From Recasting Kang After Jonathan Majors’ Firing
The MCU found themselves in a curveball following Jonathan Majors’ conviction, jeoparding their plans for the multiversal story surrounding Kang. While Marvel’s initial plans regarding the multiversal saga involved building Kang the Conqueror as the next big thing since Thanos, it appears they’re finally abandoning the storyline.
Confirming a February report, Disney revealed that the next Avengers entry will not be titled Avengers: The Kang Dynasty in the company’s latest investors’ presentation. But fans are left conflicted about the change, as it appears the industry giant is moving on from Kang altogether.

The Toxic Avenger is returning to the world of comics.
Matt Bors, the Pulitzer Prize finalist who founded the daily online political comics publication The Nib, and artist and caricaturist Fred Harper, are collaborating on the what will be a five-issue comic book series.
The publisher behind the revival is Ahoy Comics, a Syracuse-based publisher dedicated to satirizing horror, space opera, social satire, sword & sorcery, and superhero stories. It is known for putting out Second Coming, a story of Jesus Christ and a Superman-like hero forced to become roommates. The company is eying a fall debut for the mini-series.
The comic takes its cues from the infamous 1984 low-budget cult classic movie made by Lloyd Kaufman and grade Z film production company Troma Entertainment. Toxic launched a B-movie franchise with sequels, a stage musical, cartoon. There was even a short-lived Marvel series that was published in the early 1990s. The title...

We all know the story of Captain James Tiberius Kirk, who for many is Star Trek’s greatest captain. From a humble upbringing in Iowa, he distinguished himself at Starfleet Academy, even winning the Kobayashi Maru. After serving on the USS Farragut, Kirk took command of the Enterprise, the ship to which he returned time and again, even after being promoted to Admiral. After his presumed death aboard the Enterprise-b, Kirk spent time in the idyllic Nexus before returning with his successor Captain Jean-Luc Picard, who convinced him to come to Veridian III and stop the rogue El-Aurian Dr. Soren.
Kirk and Picard defeated Soren at the cost of the former’s life. “Oh my…” said the dying legend as he got a glimpse of the great beyond awaiting him, where no man had gone before.

Marvel President Kevin Feige is typically cagey about giving Marvel Cinematic Universe secrets to the press. Still, while speaking with Entertainment Tonight’s Ash Crossan, he let a few tidbits fly about the MCU’s future. While speaking with Crossnan at the Las Vegas premiere of The Marvels, Feige dished about the possibility of Robert Downey Jr. and Scarlett Johansson returning to the land of capes and tights.
While Feige hesitates to say much about Downey Jr. suiting up as Iron Man for another MCU project, he assures Crossnan that Johansson’s mystery MCU project is still happening. Feige says he and Johansson have not discussed the chances of her Black Widow character returning to the MCU. However, he did tease that another project is in the works.

Kevin Bacon is someone who has had such a great career packed with roles that you can connect many actors to him in six degrees or less. And that’s even without any kind of lengthy franchises tied to his name. However, one film is forever synonymous with him and that’s 1984’s Footloose. The 80s icon has a number of interesting projects coming up, including appearing in the Toxic Avenger remake which stars Peter Dinklage, and Ti West’s sequel to X and Pearl, MaXXXine.
It seems, though, that no matter how many movies he’s in, he just can’t escape Footloose. The actor has playfully joked about the countless times Kenny Loggins’ theme song was played at a wedding or party he’s attending, complete with people looking to him for some dancing. Variety reports that Bacon initially rejected the recognition for his high school drama as an up-and-coming star.

It’s not unusual to see a musical based on a movie or TV show or even a comic. But “Rogers: The Musical” might be the first one created from a throwaway joke in a TV show spun-off from a film series based on comic books. Audiences can now check out the mini-musical, which runs about a tight half hour, at Disney California Adventure’s Hyperion Theater, through Aug. 31. I was lucky enough to witness the opening performance last week, followed by a panel discussion with some of the key creatives.
“Rogers” first came to life in the Disney+ show “Hawkeye,” in which Jeremy Renner’s titular Avenger finds himself taking in a Broadway show with his kids. The MCU is pretty dang low on Avengers right now, but one theory surrounding Marvel’s new Secret Invasion series is that it’s about to bring back a lost member of the Og team.
While it might seem pretty “out there”, the idea could solve a few of the MCU’s current issues, some of which arguably began when the 2019 blockbuster Avengers: Endgame brought the Infinity Saga to a box office-slaying climax and killed off big hitters like Tony Stark/Iron Man and Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow.
The mantle of Captain America was passed from Steve Rogers to Sam Wilson, Bruce Banner went off to have some family-related Hulk adventures, and a massive new MCU saga soon got underway. Sam became the focus of his own TV series, as did Avenger Hawkeye, while Thor went on to lead another big budget movie in Thor: Love and Thunder,...

After starting on a serious note by showcasing the complexities introduced by the infiltration of the shapeshifting alien Skrulls into human society, the second episode of Disney+’s latest release, Secret Invasion, dials it down a bit to showcase the implications of the invasion in its true sense. In the previous episode, we saw that as a result of consecutive terrorist attacks conducted by a rebel sect of Skrull led by the renegade Gravik, Nick Fury was forced to return to Earth from his aerospace defense mission in space.
Fury learned from his friend, former Skrull leader Talos, and agent Maria Hill that the rebels have created and are using the organization ‘A.A.R.’ (Americans Against Russia) as a front and are planning a bombing of Moscow, which could spark a vicious war between two nations. As with any MCU outing, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 was stuffed to bursting with Easter eggs and cameos. Alongside the welcome return of Sylvester Stallone’s Stakar Ogord and Seth Green’s Howard the Duck, there’s even a role for Gunn’s wife and Peacemaker star, Jennifer Holland. Still, there’s a sense that Marvel ultimately wasted one actor that really could’ve had major potential.

“Scream VI” collected $44.5 million in its opening weekend, a scary-good start for Paramount and Spyglass Media’s long-running slasher series.
Those ticket sales were enough to top domestic box office charts over two newcomers, Sony’s prehistoric sci-fi thriller “65” and the Focus Features heartwarming comedy “Champions,” as well as last weekend’s victor “Creed III.”
The initial haul for “Scream VI” is frighteningly strong for the sixth installment in a franchise. Not only did it greatly improve upon the start of last year’s hit reboot “Scream,” which scored with $30 million, but it crushed the series’ opening weekend record, previously set by 2000’s “Scream 3” with $34 million. “Scream VI” cost $35 million, so it’ll easily turn a profit in its theatrical run.
“It’s extraordinary to have this type of result after six films,” says Chris Aronson, Paramount’s president of domestic distribution. “We blew away the opening of the last ‘Scream.

Paul Rudd’s Ant-Man is taking on his scariest adversary yet: a 500-pound black bear on cocaine.
Universal’s gruesome action-comedy “Cocaine Bear” won’t come close to “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” in terms of weekend ticket sales, but the drugged-up animal adventure is expected to start strong at the domestic box office. “Cocaine Bear” hopes to take in $15 million to $17 million from 3,500 North American theaters, with a chance that positive buzz could propel initial returns to $20 million.
The wild R-rated movie was budgeted at roughly $35 million, which was mostly dedicated to the CGI used to bring to life the coked-out grizzly alongside the human cast of Keri Russell, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Alden Ehrenreich, Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Brooklynn Prince. Elizabeth Banks directed “Cocaine Bear,” which is one of today’s rare original theatrical comedies. Inspired by a stranger-than-fiction story about a drug runner’s plane crash, the film...

Disney’s “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” buzzed to 110 million at the domestic box office, beating expectations and scoring by far the biggest opening weekend in the pint-sized Marvel trilogy.
The superhero adventure, starring Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly as the titular Ant-Man and the Wasp, is expected to bring in 118 million or 120 million by President’s Day on Monday. The film added 121 million at the international box office, bringing its global tally to 225 million.
Though the threequel landed the worst reviews of the series (and some of the harshest in the entire MCU), “Quantumania” got a huge jump on its predecessors, 2015’s “Ant-Man” with 57 million and 2018’s sequel “Ant-Man and the Wasp” with 76 million. Critical sentiments rarely matter for opening weekends of Marvel movies, but word-of-mouth could have an impact on ticket sales in the coming weeks. In addition to its bleak 49 average on Rotten Tomatoes, audiences saddled the film with a “B” CinemaScore.

To date, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has included only three feature films that focus on a single female superhero: 2019’s “Captain Marvel,” 2021’s “Black Widow” and 2022’s “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.”
Evangeline Lilly is hoping Marvel is in the mood for a fourth.
“I’m going to make a pitch that I think it might be time for a Wasp standalone film,” the actor told Variety at the premiere of “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” on Monday. “Do we agree? Do we agree?”
Lilly has played Hope Van Dyne since 2015’s “Ant-Man,” and when the character became the Wasp for 2018’s “Ant-Man and the Wasp,” she shared title status with Paul Rudd’s shrinking Avenger. Other than a brief appearance in “Avengers: Endgame,” however, the character has remained largely unexplored in the MCU, and Lilly is hoping that can change.

We all have our favorite Avenger, but it’s hard for anyone to deny the impact of a certain sarcastic leading man. Yes, the highest-grossing franchise of all-time could’ve never risen to such impressive heights without the likes of the irreplaceable Robert Downey Jr. The Academy Award nominee helped put Marvel on the map when he anchored the original Iron Man movie way back in 2008 and since then, he’s been the face of the McU as it soared to record-shattering box office numbers.
Unfortunately, the beloved 55-year-old’s time in the series came to a close in Avengers: Endgame after his character sacrificed himself in order to save the universe. While we were all excited to see what he’d do next, even diehard supporters of the actor have to admit that his subsequent work has been less than impressive thus far. It wouldn’t be unfair to say that Thor probably wasn’t a lot of people’s favorite Avenger until the character was completely reinvented in Taika Waititi’s Ragnarok, with the God of Thunder’s first two solo adventures regarded by many as two of the weaker entries in the McU’s back catalogue.
Up until that point, Thor had always been depicted as a stoic and relatively one-dimensional hero, but not only did Chris Hemsworth use his impeccable comic timing to great effect, but he also had one of the most emotionally complex journeys throughout the remainder of Phase Three, with Ragnarok and the Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame double-header showing someone constantly haunted by guilt and tragedy.
Sure, some of it was played for laughs, but Hemsworth was able to wring out a lot of emotion and pathos from Thor’s loss of confidence and desire to atone for his past mistakes.

The culmination of the Infinity Saga seemed to make it pretty clear that Marvel Studios were reshuffling their deck in a major way, with the characters that had led the McU since Phase One slowly being replaced by a new batch of superheroes.
Iron Man, Black Widow and Captain America are already out of the picture, Disney Plus’ Hawkeye will see Clint Barton take a backseat to Kate Bishop and the Hulk is legally barred from starring in solo movies, which leaves Chris Hemsworth’s Thor as the last original Avenger with a major part to play.
That being said, with Love and Thunder set to establish Jane Foster as the new God of Thunder, there’s already been speculation that Hemsworth’s days could also be numbered. And we’ve now heard that the actor isn’t particularly happy about it.

Chris Pratt’s brother Cully has no time for nepotism, choosing two McU stars ahead of Guardians of the Galaxy’s Peter Quill as his picks for favorite Marvel superheroes.
Chris and fellow McU regular Tom Holland recently sat down with Extra Butter to discuss the upcoming Pixar movie Onward. During their exchange, interviewer Mark S. Allen surprised the Star-Lord actor with a video call from Cully, who trolled his brother by fawning over Holland.
As well as naming Spider-Man and Thor as his top two Avengers, Cully expressed disappointment that Holland isn’t working with Chris Hemsworth on Onward instead of the Infinity Saga’s other cosmic Chris. On a sincere note, however, Chris Pratt also praised the Pixar movie for its take on brotherly bonds, telling Cully that the film seems almost designed to make him cry:

Avengers: Endgame saw some big changes for the classic team. Iron Man and Black Widow died, Captain America ended up an old man and Hulk was seriously injured. The only pair that walked away from the film in good shape were Thor and Hawkeye, both of whom ended up with pretty happy endings. The God of Thunder finally got over his sense of failure for not stopping Thanos’ snap and relinquished the Asgardian crown to Valkryie, while Hawkeye got his family back.
Now, in an interview with Vanity Fair, Endgame writers Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely have revealed why these particular characters received happy endings.
“We could have had a bloodbath and all six of them gone down swinging, but that seemed even more depressing,” said McFeely.
Markus went on to explain why Thor deserved his, saying:
“Thor has sacrificed and sacrificed and lost and lost. It’s not a good ending to kill him.

I am Iron Man... for 10 minutes or so. After watching Robert Downey Jr. swoop around the big screen for over a decade, who wouldn't want to step into the iconic red and gold armor to take flight in Iron Man Vr? When the upcoming experience was being demoed on the show floor at Egx London 2019, I couldn't resist having a go.
The demo kicks off by establishing the game's most simple controls: in order to fly forwards, you need to hold the Psvr controllers downwards and point them out slightly behind you, while also pressing the triggers on the backs of the controllers. If you think of the way that Downey Jr. holds his arms when Tony Stark is in flight, you've got a decent picture in your...

Marvel’s Spider-Man solo movies have always made the most of taking place in the McU. Obviously, Robert Downey Jr’.s Iron Man played a key mentor role in Spider-Man: Homecoming, with Samuel L. So, it’s been theorized for a while now that another familiar face from the franchise will turn up in Spider-Man 3 as well.

Downey Jr. told Howard Stern Monday on the radio personality’s SiriusXM show that he acknowledges Scorsese’s nuanced take.

Stern probed Downey Jr., suggesting the actor was being “too nice” about Scorsese’s remark.

One of the upcoming Phase 4 Marvel films that I’m super excited about is Shang-Chi and The Legend of the Ten Rings. I’m just such a huge fan of martial arts films, and now Marvel is actually making one!

In the comics, Shang-Chi is the son of China-based globalist who raised and educated his progeny in his reclusive China compound, closed off to the outside world. The son trained in the martial arts and developed unsurpassed skills.
We also know that the main villain of the story will be The Mandarin. Destin Daniel Cretton is set to direct the film from a script written by Dave Callaham.

To put it lightly, today has been a ridiculous day for everyone’s favorite web-slinger. Spider-Man and his nascent rights drama came to a halt earlier when news broke that titans of industry Disney and Sony reached a fair deal over shared ownership of Peter Parker. Now, from henceforth, all news about the nation’s favorite Avenger (right?) will be good. And I’ll kick it off with this: Jon Watts is probably coming back for another Spidey sequel.
Watts’ name had never really left talks of future films, of course, as it’d been reported that he was being courted by Sony to do Spider-Man 3 for them. And while they’re still finalizing the deal, considering that Marvel and crew already have a gosh-darn release date set for this supposedly unplanned third entry – July 16th, 2021, by the way – it seems extremely likely the Far From Home director will be back.

Avengers: Endgame has been nearly universally praised since its release this past April. It successfully capped of the 23-film Infinity Saga as well as providing cathartic ends for most of the main cast. There are, however, a few exceptions to this and one of the most notable is the treatment of the Incredible Hulk.
The Green Goliath’s transformation into his “Professor Hulk” persona left many scratching their head. It didn’t seem to fit with the overall arc that the angriest Avenger had been traveling on. But, the creative team behind the decision stand by it, and are even doubling down on how integral Bruce Banner and his alter ego were to the proceedings in Endgame.

The battle over Spider-Man‘s cinematic future still doesn’t appear to be over. It may be a while before we see a resolution to all this, but writer David Koepp recently waded into the Disney V Sony debate regarding Spider-Man. The past month or so has been a pretty crazy ride for fans of Spider-Man, as Tom Holland’s version of the hero was booted from the Marvel Cinematic Universe due to Sony and Disney failing to reach a new agreement in regards to sharing the character. Basically, it all came down to money following the massive success that was Far From Home and though who you side with is up to you, both parties are to blame in some sense.
Nevertheless, we’ve been hearing that talks between the two studios aren’t completely dead just yet and there may still be hope for them to come to a new deal. Meaning we may see Spider-Man remain an Avenger and continue to swing around the McU. Obviously, this would be the best outcome but as of yet, we still can’t say for sure what’ll happen.

Nevertheless, we’ve been hearing that talks between the two studios aren’t completely dead just yet and there may still be hope for them to come to a new deal. Suffice it to say, the past few weeks have been a wild ride for fans of Spider-Man. In short, Tom Holland’s iteration of the web-head was booted from the Marvel Cinematic Universe much earlier than expected. Though all of the specifics haven’t been made public, the whole thing basically came down to money following the massive success that was Far From Home. Whether you side with Sony or Disney is up to you, but I think neither is without fault in this situation.
More recently, we’ve seen reports surface saying that talks between the two studios aren’t dead, as there may be hope for them to come to a new deal. If they were to shake hands, then we could see Spider-Man remain an Avenger and continue being allowed to make mention of his late mentor, Tony Stark. If not, he’s going to keep his trap shut while feeling nostalgic,...

There’ve been reports about a Hawkeye series happening for a while now, but it wasn’t made official until San Diego Comic-Con. As well as revealing their entire Phase Four line-up, Marvel also announced five new TV shows coming over the next 2-3 years, one of which will feature Jeremy Renner returning as the fan favorite Avenger.
Not only that, but Clint Barton will also be taking on an apprentice in the show as we know that Kate Bishop will make her debut in Hawkeye. Folks have been waiting a long time to see Kate appear in the McU, so it’s exciting to finally learn that she’s on the way. And better yet, we also now know who might be playing her: Bumblebee star Hailee Steinfeld. At least, that’s according to Variety, who say she’s been offered the role.
Casting details beyond that remain scarce...

Marvel’s Avengers developer Crystal Dynamics has flipped a switch, it seems. After what felt like an aeon of silence following the action-adventure title’s grand (but gameplay-lacking) reveal at this year’s E3, the studio has finally seen fit to ramp up reveals for its hugely anticipated superhero extravaganza. Dedicated fans, of course, have already sought out unsanctioned gameplay ‘reveals’ by way of leaked footage originating from behind-closed-doors events, but not until last month’s Gamescom in Cologne, Germany, were audiences treated to the real deal.
Captain America, Thor, Iron Man, Black Widow and Hulk are all confirmed to be playable on launch day, with each boasting their own unique suite of powers and abilities. Perhaps the biggest delight – and allaying major fears of each hero feeling too similar – to have emerged from footage provided so far, is just how masterfully Crystal has managed to achieve such distinctive playstyles...

Natasha Romanoff Aka Black Widow is one member of the Avengers whose past has remained shrouded in mystery, both in the comics and movies. It’s always been more intriguing to only give out hints as to her history as an enemy agent before defecting to the other side, but now that she’s finally getting her own origin film, Marvel Comics has decided to reveal more details about her backstory, including why her superhero name takes after one of the deadliest spiders in the world.
In the new comic The Web of Black Widow #1 by Jody Houser, we examine the life and times of Natasha before she became an Avenger. In it, readers are taken within the Red Room, a top-secret Russian institute dedicated to the training and education of female spies and assassins. The star pupil of the academy is a very young Natasha Romanoff, who’s introduced...
