I am truly saddened that JAG has come to an end. There was really no show like it. JAG presented the modern day military with both it's good parts and it's negatives. Many of the story lines were taken from the headlines. It allowed those of us who were not military to better understand the Navy and Marine Corps. My father, who was a Marine in WW2, enjoyed the early years of the show.

I predict that a show like JAG will be even more important in the coming years. The War On Terror shows little signs of being over. Our front line protecting us is the military and the various agencies such as the CIA and JAG presented a window into these organizations. I don't see why another ten years of shows could not have been presented.

I will also miss Harm and Mac as well as Bud, "The Admiral", Jennifer, Tiner!,Gunny, Harriet, Webb, and all the other interesting characters that we have gotten to know over the years.

The only thing I'm looking forward to is purchasing the DVD collections. I know I've missed an episode here and there so I will be waiting for all the seasons to come out on DVD.

My thanks to the actors, writers, producers, directors, and everyone associated with the show. You did a great job.

It ended, like real-life military events, as it began: with a posting

Looking back at this through the prism of 13 years of history and fanfiction, it is clear that the producers could not have satisfied all of the wishes of all of the members of the considerable fan-base which this series accumulated during its 10 years on the air. The cast had aged and their characters had matured, arrived, left or died. It was probably the right time to say "farewell".

This episode tried to be even-handed and it touched on the pressures which many married military families face when one member of the "team" is promoted or assigned.

As it stands, it is a fitting end to "JAG"; and we still have "JAG" to thank for the continuing, excellent "NCIS" which was spun off from "JAG" season Eight in 2003. Thank you, all involved in "JAG"

The Series

This was the one of the best shows on TV. I must say it was on the same level as Gunsmoke, Mash, and a few others. The actors seem to be made for the parts they played, and seeing them every week was like inviting an old friend into your home. You wondered out loud to yourself if and when Harm and Mac would ever get together. The parts of the show on the aircraft carriers were breathtaking with the Tomcats landing and taking off. The dogfights in the air, and the battle scenes gave you an idea just how good these F-14's would be in a real war. I have seen all the shows, either in the re-runs, or when they were first aired. I still watch them today whenever I get a chance to see them again. It's sad it had to end, but like all good things ....life goes on. Good luck to all the actors involved, and I hope they all connect with another great show.

Jag - final episode

I realize that there could not have been any alternative for either Mac or Harm to resign in order for the series to end. However I think that General Creswell would have been in a position to let Harm take up his Captains Billet in London and Mac could have become a military attaché at the American Embassy in Londo, or she could have done a temporary posting with either the Army or Airforce JAG folks in Europe thereby preserving her commission and keeping her out of her husband's chain of command.

I really do miss this series. I would have liked to have seen more of General Creswell, he was turning out to be more of a pussy-cat than he would have liked to admit.

I must ask though if the Naavy would have allowed Harm to keep his carrier Quals up to date if he wasn't flying regularly. But then he flew often enough to be a hero and get decorated.

As a season ender I should have rated it a 10, I rated it a 5 because there were other alternatives open to Gen. Creswell. Especially in this era of two military careers in one family.
