King a movie Dog among Chimp, Parrot and Wildcat!!!!
elo-equipamentos14 October 2019
A full action episode, when Chipper was almost killed by giant dog, Barry took the dying friend to young giant vet, however he actually is just a Doctor's assistant, but he promises making something to help, until he faces with the evil Doctor's son, a lemon guy and worst a true troublemaker, in this dangerous situation, the injured Chipper and all little people are on jeopardy by the cruel boy, apart the action, the storyline is weak and silly, proving one more time the lack of good plots, instead of first season on dark planet, mostly acting by night due by safe of the shadows, now too much friendly to some good giants, changing the early concept!!!

Features a Horrible Misguided Youth
StuOz2 March 2015
Warning: Spoilers
Barry's dog is injured so Barry puts himself in a dangerous position by going to a giant Vet.

Generally speaking, I like Giants season one more than Giants season two. Season two is fine but it contained too many of these adventures where the "little people" feel the need to reveal themselves to the giants. When you get too much of this it ends up making the giants seem like less of a menace. And the giants being a menace is what season one was all about.

But having said all that, Every Dog Needs a Dog is fine, mainly because it features one of the most horrible giant characters and one of the best giant characters to appear in the whole 51 episodes of the series: and he is just a long haired boy.

Adding to this, the hour does a nice job of presenting the day in the life of a Vet's shop, and the trouble making kid gets what he deserves in the end. If this story were made today it probably would have ended with the kid walking the streets making trouble somewhere else. But this story ends on a nice positive note.

Nardini or Blago? -- And Inspector Henderson?
richard.fuller120 March 2010
Warning: Spoilers
Tom Nardini was the golden globe nominee from Cat Ballou for 'Most Promising Newcomer' as a native American character. Can't say I recall him in the movie, been so long since I've seen it, but by chance I caught Nardini's appearance on Bewitched, again as a native American, and sporting one remarkably obvious paint job to darken his skin.

Having the episodes of Land of the Giants on DVD, I looked up Nardini and decided to see where his career took him.

This episode centers on Chipper being injured by a trained movie dog worth $100,000 (we're given the amount) when the dog barks or sneezes (descriptions differ as to what happened) There are two young men working in the veterinarian's office. One is the responsible Ben and the other is slacker Nardini.

After a while, Nardini began to bear an incredible resemblance to disgraced Chicago governero Rod Blagoyevich (Blagojevich?) or Blago. Not just the head full of black hair on Nardini's head, but his features, even in closeup as well as sounding like him.

This then made moments when Nardini terrorized Valerie with a Great Dane on a leash and then was outsmarted by a chimpanzee more enjoyable.

Also worth noting is Robert Shayne as the next door store clerk. Shayne of course is best known as Inspector Henderson from the old Superman show in the fifties.

My guess with Nardini is he felt he was promoting an offensive stereotype of blackface by becoming best known for portraying a native American when he wasn't anything of the kind and with the societal discord of the late sixties as well, this caused him to veer into a more pleasurable lifestyle of drugs.

Acting wise, he wasn't impressive, but there was no way he could imagine a Blago resemblance forty years later.
