I can narrow down the two Simpsons episodes which I quote the most in daily life; A Star Is Burns and 22 Short Films about Springfield. Half of my favourite Simpsons' quotes come from these two episodes alone.

This episode has not only my all time favourite Simpsons' moment but also possibly my favourite moment in TV history; I am indeed talking about the greatness that is the Skinner and Superintendent skit. I can recall several instances in which myself and people I've known have recited this scene in its entirety from memory. As a kid I didn't get the humour of the scene, but can recall my parents and older brother laughing hysterically at it. Now that I'm older I constantly watch this scene over and over again. But do you know what's the funniest thing (well aside from the aforementioned scene) it's the little differences. Such as the episode's parody of Pulp Fiction's "Muthaf**ka" scene, with Chief Wiggum stating "Hey I know you!"; the complete opposite of what is said in the scene from Pulp Fiction. Like the greatest of Simpsons' gags it works on so many levels. Why did they never make another episode like this? I guess this one was as close to perfection as it gets that they could never top it.

Oh, what a hilarious episode this was!!!
TOMNEL16 September 2006
with: The Regulars (Dan, Julie, Nancy, Yeardley, Hank and Harry) Also with: Maggie Roswell, Phil Hartman, Tress MacNeille, Russi Taylor and Pamela Hayden.

This has to be one of the funniest episodes of the show! As the name says this is just several short stories about various Springfielders. The stories include Apu going to a party, Lisa getting gum in her hair, Dr. Nick's incompitence, Bumblebee Man's day at work, Several Pulp Fiction spoofs with Wiggum, Snake and Herman and many more. This is the best of the several stories per episode genre of the show and in my top ten episode of the show. Hilarious, so go watch it!! My rating: A plus. TV PG V. 23 mins.

Warning: Spoilers
Warning do not read unless seen episode.

This is another episode of the show I really like, it's basically The Simpsons doing "Pulp Fiction" as we see multiple stories some of them intersect or interconnect with each other.

There really isn't much to say as this is one big anthology episode, whichever one's you like and love are a matter of preference. I really like the one with Lisa and the gum on her hair which is one that just gets more and more funny as it goes on. But of course my favorite one were the ones with both Chief Wigum and Snake.

The conversation scene at the Krusty Burger was obviously a parody on the hamburger conversation from "Pulp Fiction" but what makes this conversation funny is the fact their mentioning McDonalds which is funny because it's ironic parody meeting reality. And then of course there is the situation with Snake which is funny as we see both Wigum and Snake get into a scuffle and then see both in a sticky situation at the pawn shop.

The last story is really funny as we see Nelson finally crosses the line as he insulting laughs at the wrong guy. Really like the really tall guy whom had a voice that sounded like Goliath from those Davey and Goliath Claymation shorts. In the end of course it's everyone in Springfield that gets the last laugh.

A lot can happen to a lot of people in one town and all in one day.

Brilliant

I'm not much for watching things a second time. This was so full of good lines and hilarious situations, and it got nearly every character into the act. I especially loved the Seymour cooking bit. When I first saw the title, I assumed it was some throwaway thing using scenes from previous episodes. Don't miss this one.

Simpsons short stories

Warning: Spoilers
For me the first 10 seasons of The Simpsons represent the golden years really. 22 Short Films About Springfield is proudly one of the episodes of the golden years, and it's worth savoring and watching over and over again. Sort of like Short Cuts. A very innovative episode that's bold and entertaining and of course funny.

Aurora borealis

We see a part of the day for lots of different Springfield residents.

This is a solid parody with good character moments.

The plot is quite experimental with lots of spoofing of situation comedy and movies like 'Pulp Fiction'. I like some scenes more than others, but it is all very smoothly edited with strong transitions between each character's appearance.

How funny is it? I found good. My favourite character moments involve Dr Nick, Principal Skinner, Superintendent Chalmers, Chief Wiggam, Snake, and Herman. I generally don't like film-spoofing for the sake of it, but the Pulp Fiction tribute is very good.

My most favourite Simpsons episode of all time. Forget the modern era of The Simpsons, it's also one of the best classic Simpsons episodes of all time.

Warning: Spoilers
I've watched this classic Simpsons episode loads of times. It's great, entertaining and funny. It's my most favourite Simpsons episode of all time. It never gets old and it will always be a timeless classic. It's just a brilliant episode.

The Skinner and Superintendent segment also known as "Steamed Hams" is my favourite part of this episode. It's definitely the best part of this episode ever seen. It has become a very popular internet meme since 2016. Superintendent yells, "SEYMOUR!" always cracks me up!

Another best part of this episode where an extremely tall bloke humiliates Nelson to teach him a lesson as a part of his revenge and it is also my favourite part of this episode.

This is the far best Simpsons episode I have ever watched.

An unforgettable luncheon
Jake2310985 May 2024
*Superintendent Chalmers rings the doorbell at Principal Skinner's house, to which Skinner opens the door*

Chalmers: Well Seymour, I made it. Despite your directions.

Skinner: Ah, Superintendent Chalmers, welcome! I hope you're prepared for an unforgettable luncheon!

Chalmers: *sarcastically* Yeah...

*He enters the dining room, sits down and places a wine bottle in an ice bucket. Meanwhile, Skinner goes into the kitchen, only to find out his roast is burnt as he gasps in horror*

Skinner: Oh, YE GODS!! My roast is RUINED!!

*Skinner then looks outside the window to the nearby Krusty Burger restaurant as he begins to plot a scheme*

Skinner: But, what if... I were to purchase fast food and disguise it as my own cooking? *chuckles* Delightfully devilish, Seymour!

*Skinner tries to escape through the window, until the Superintendent walks in and catches him in the act*

Chalmers: Uh?!

*cue the 'Skinner and the Superintendent' theme song, as a montage of their scenes from previous episodes is shown*

"Skinner with his crazy explanations, The superintendent's gonna need his medication, When he hears Skinner's lame exaggerations, There'll be trouble in town tonight!"

Chalmers: SEEEYMOOUURRR!!!

*Cuts back to Skinner's kitchen*

Skinner: Superintendent! I was just... Uh... Jus- just stretching my calves on the windowsill! Isometric exercise! Care to join me?

Chalmers: Why is there smoke coming out of your oven, Seymour?

Skinner: Um... oh! That isn't smoke, it's steam! Steam from the Steamed clams we're having! *rubs his belly* Mmmm... Steamed clams!

*A suspicious Superintendent leaves the kitchen. Skinner breathes a sigh of relief, before exiting the window and running across the road to Krusty Burger, where he buys hamburgers and French fries to make up for his burnt roast*

*Scene cuts to Skinner returning to the dining room, with the fast food presented on a silver tray*

Skinner: Superintendent, I hope you're ready for mouth-watering hamburgers!

Chalmers: I thought we were having Steamed clams.

Skinner: D'oh, no! I said steamed hams! That's what I call hamburgers.

Chalmers: You call hamburgers steamed hams?

Skinner: Yes! It's a regional dialect.

Chalmers: Uh-huh. Uh, what region?

Skinner: Um... upstate New York?

Chalmers: Really? Well, I'm from Utica and I've never heard anyone use the phrase 'steamed hams'.

Skinner: Oh, not in Utica, no! It's an Albany expression.

Chalmers: I see.

*The superintendent takes a bite of one of the hamburgers while Skinner sips his drink*

Chalmers: You know, these hamburgers are quite similar to the ones they have at Krusty Burger.

Skinner: Ohohohohoho, no! Patented Skinner burgers! Old family recipe!

Chalmers: For steamed hams?

Skinner: Yes.

Chalmers: Yes, and you call them 'steamed hams' despite the fact they are obviously grilled?

*With his secret exposed, Skinner must come up with a distraction*

Skinner: Y.... Ye-... You know the-.... One thing I should-... Excuse me for one second.

Chalmers: Of course.

*Skinner steps back into the flaming kitchen and immediately back out, seeing as it is now on fire*

Skinner: *pretends to yawn* Well, that was wonderful! A good time was had by all, I'm pooped.

Chalmers: Yes, I should be- *notices the light coming from the burning kitchen* GOOD LORD! WHAT IS HAPPENING IN THERE?!

Skinner: Aurora Borealis?

Chalmers: Ah-... Aurora Borealis?! At this time of year, at this time of day, in this part of the country, localised entirely within your kitchen?!

Skinner: Yes!

Chalmers: ....May I see it?

Skinner: .... No.

*Both of them exit the house as the fire continues to spread. Skinner's mom is heard yelling to him off-camera*

Agnes (voice): SEYMOUR! THE HOUSE IS ON FIRE!!

Skinner (looking up): No, mother! It's just the Northern lights!

Chalmers: Well Seymour, you are an odd fellow. But I must say... you steam a good ham.

*As the Superintendent begins heading home, Agnes starts screaming for help, causing a concerned Chalmers to look back at the house. Skinner gives him a thumbs up accompanied with a fake smile, causing him to walk away. With Chalmers now out of sight, Skinner rushes back inside to deal with the fire*

Agnes (voice): HEEELP!! HEEEELP!!!
