Following the success of their feature debut, the horror film Talk to Me, the directing duo of Danny and Michael Philippou signed on to make a new film adaptation of the Street Fighter video game franchise, started developing a Talk to Me sequel titled Talk 2 Me, and let it be known that they had already shot some sort of Talk to Me prequel (but it’s not clear if or when we’ll get to see that footage), had an action drama project they’d like to make, and also had a horror script called Bring Her Back that they wanted to get into production. Now Deadline has confirmed that Bring Her Back is heading into production and will be made before Talk 2 Me or Street Fighter, with two-time Oscar nominee Sally Hawkins of The Shape of Water and Blue Jasmine signed on to star in the film.

Spoilers for "Gen V" follow.
As we've learned through three seasons of "The Boys," if you live in a universe filled with superheroes you should never, ever, have sex with them. They'll accidentally crush your skull during cunnilingus, or worse. It's not that they're bad people exactly; it's that they're not always as in control of their powers as you'd think. And if they spend most of their time among other Supes who can handle the occasional sex-related mishap, they can often forget how fragile a regular human body is.
But even when it comes to Supe-on-Supe sexual relationships, the power imbalance still causes plenty of trouble. When Homelander engaged in a sexual relationship with Doppelganger, a shapeshifter who could transform into his former lover Madeleine Stillwell at will, all it took was one wrong move for Homelander to end up snapping Doppelganger's neck. Even when the Supe isn't accidentally harming you,...

A few days ago, we shared a snippet of a Hollywood Reporter interview with Danny and Michael Philippou, the directors of the Australian horror film Talk to Me (read our review at This Link, watch our interview with the directors in the embed above), in which they said they wouldn’t be able to resist making a sequel if they are given the opportunity. Now The Hollywood Reporter has revealed an even more exciting bit of news: the Philippou brothers have already filmed a prequel to Talk to Me!
Talk to Me features a character named Duckett, played by Sunny Johnson – and when The Hollywood Reporter directly asked the Philippous if they have been talked about making a Duckett prequel, Danny answered, “We actually shot an entire Duckett prequel already. It’s told entirely through the perspective of mobile phones and social media, so maybe down the line we can release that.

I’m so proud to bring you our annual Pride Issue, which highlights the joys and struggles of trans youth. Our charismatic cover subject, 20-year-old Jazz Jennings, made headlines in 2007 at age 6 when she gave a nationally televised interview to Barbara Walters about identifying as a girl. That led to Jennings’ popularity as a TV personality and YouTube sensation and her becoming a vital role model for so many in the trans community.
“It’s not hyperbolic to say that Jazz has actually saved lives,” says GLAAD president Sarah Kate Ellis. “She’s shown trans youth that you can be happy, healthy and accepted. And in the trans community, representation matters greatly. So many trans youth are at risk and have contemplated or attempted suicide, so seeing someone like Jazz is a bright light for them.”
Jennings and GLAAD have crossed paths many times over the years: Her reality show...

For the second year in a row, “Schitt’s Creek” won for outstanding comedy series at the 32nd Annual GLAAD Media Awards. Writer-star-executive producer Dan Levy accepted the prize on behalf of the series.
“When we set out to make ‘Schitt’s Creek,’ we simply wanted to tell funny and hopefully meaningful stories about personal growth, love, empowerment and bebe crows,” Levy said in his acceptance speech. “We had no idea how that town would become such a safe space for our viewers as well. But in reality, there is still so much work that needs to be done, and I cannot thank GLAAD enough for their relentless pursuit of trying to ensure that we can one day live in a world where our community feels that same kind of support.”
Niecy Nash hosted the virtual ceremony, which aired on GLAAD’s YouTube channel. The event will also stream on Hulu beginning at 10 p.

The ABC today launched diversity and inclusion commissioning guidelines for screen content, to better reflect and represent more diverse faces, voices, cultures and stories. Michael Carrington, ABC director entertainment and specialist, explains why.
The global discussion about diversity and inclusion has called out some glaring anachronisms on screen, more suited to the era of Downton Abbey than the 21st century. From #OscarsSoWhite to overlooking the outstanding work of female creatives, there’s much work to be done.
I’m not a huge fan of reality TV but Australian screens could do with a dose of real life. This is not about tallying up the number of faces that are white, black, brown or in between. It’s about recognising that there’s more diversity on an average suburban street than on our screens. And why that’s a problem.
Being exposed to different people and cultures stimulates curiosity, creativity and innovation.

Australia’s leading children’s TV producers today called on the Federal Government to review its planned media reforms, warning that abolishing the free-to-air broadcasters’ children content quotas will result in thousands of job losses.
The coalition is seeking an urgent meeting with the government to work on changing policies to sustain children’s production and enable producers to continue to access the Producer Offset.
“Unless these amendments are urgently implemented we fear many thousands of jobs will be lost and highly successful and profitable production companies will be forced to close,” the group said.
“The government’s decision to effectively shut down the production of local children’s content will have a detrimental impact on the Australian community and especially its children.”
By abolishing the quotas for children’s content and with no requirements on the streamers or other adjustments, the government has left the sector stranded, it says.

While the pandemic may have brought a temporary halt to programming pipelines, children’s broadcasters are using the opportunity to scope out the acquisitions market as well as applying strategies to entice tweens and teens back to their streaming platforms.
During Tuesday morning’s Mipcom Warm Up briefing on kids programming, BBC Children’s head of independent animation and acquisitions, Sarah Muller, admitted she was in the “unusual position” of being able to go on an international buying spree.
“I was able to go out and source content that we might not have bought in the normal course of events, because our schedule is normally so full,” she said.
Speaking to the session’s moderator, former Channel 4 commissioner-turned-consultant Sarah Baynes, Muller said that series acquisitions have included Australian broadcaster ABC’s four-part drama “First Day” which tells the story of a young transgender girl starting her first day at a new school.
