Once upon a time on the West Coast, two bands were plotting a revolution.

Aside from its regular “Fox Animation Domination” block on Sunday nights, Fox’s fall schedule is taking a more alternative approach this year as the WGA strike continues to remain an issue for Hollywood.
In similar fashion to other broadcast networks, Fox’s fall schedule was notably missing mention of its scripted series premiere dates. Those programming blocks have instead been filled with unscripted shows like “Celebrity Name that Tune” and “Kitchen Nightmares” and animated series like newcomer”Krapopolis” (which recently got a long overdue premiere date) and mainstays like “The Simpsons,” “Bob’s Burgers” and “Family Guy.”
Hosted by Jane Krakowski and band leader Randy Jackson, “Celebrity Name That Tune” is an all-celebrity edition with games that will test the musical knowledge of athletes, musicians, actors, TV personalities, comedians and Olympians as they play for their favorite charities with a chance to win over $150,000. The show is produced by Fox Alternative Entertainment,...

Fox is betting big on its upcoming animated series Krapopolis.
The network and its Emmy-winning animation studio Bento Box Entertainment triple-down on the upcoming animated comedy Krapopolis with a third season renewal, well ahead of the show's planned series premiere.

From Emmy Award winner, creator, and executive producer Dan Harmon and produced by Fox's Bento Box Entertainment, Krapopolis will make its series premiere during the 2023-24 Season.
The series has been delayed in the past, but it sounds like the network wants to give it the best launch pad.

When it comes to changes in the television landscape, 2022 has been rough. Almost every streaming service or major cable network seemed to have some kind of major loss or merger. The result was a whole lot of cost-cutting, which unfortunately meant that some beloved shows got the axe, many before their time. The CW ended many of its superhero shows as the network goes through a total re-brand, Warner Bros. Discovery's merger led them to cut hundreds of millions of dollars worth of content, and Netflix lost 50 billion in value overnight back in January, leading to a year of heavy cancellations. It seemed like every time we turned around, something else was getting cut, and it's been devastating for fans.
Some of the shows we lost only had a single, audacious season before getting cut short, while others have been around for years. Some, like the divisive and ridiculously expensive "Westworld,...

Fox is doubling down on Krapopolis.
The broadcaster has renewed Rick and Morty co-creator Dan Harmon’s upcoming animated series ahead of its 2023 series premiere.
“As you can imagine, anything Dan Harmon does is unflinchingly irreverent and filled with his signature, bold characters; and these early episodes of Krapopolis far surpass even our highest expectations,” said Fox entertainment president Michael Thorn. “While we continue to evolve Fox’s animation brand, it’s a true delight watching Dan and his team work their magic on Krapopolis. But it’s an even bigger thrill to be so confident in this special project to be able to reward it with an early renewal.”
Krapopolis is “set in mythical ancient Greece and tells the story of a dysfunctional family of humans, gods and monsters that try their hand at running the world’s first cities — without trying to kill each other.

Moon will launch his own label, Moonlight, with the aim of creating projects beyond the family fare Illumination is known for. He will assume the title president of Moonlight, and will serve as senior creative advisor to Illumination, which has a distribution deal with Universal Pictures.
Moon, who left Netflix in July, shepherded overall deals with talent such as Big Mouth and Human Resources team Brutus Pink and worked on projects including Inside Job from Shion Takeuchi and the upcoming Entergalactic, from Kenya Barris and Kid Cudi.
“We have an exceptionally talented group of artists, filmmakers and producers at Illumination and believe that there is no better compliment to this team than Mike and the new company we are partnering to build,” said Illumination CEO and founder Chris Meledandri.

We’ve entered the part of the awards calendar that sees the entertainment industry’s guild organizations announcing nominations honoring the best craftspeople in their respective fields, for awards ceremonies to be held next month.
Much of the chatter around these nominations comes part and parcel with Oscar season, with analysis interpreting precisely what each new batch of nominees means for the Academy Award nominations, due to be announced on March 15.
For television, the Emmy Awards non-adherence to a January-December eligibility calendar means that all guild awards are consequently a mishmash between episodes and series already recognized by the Emmys last year and competitors whose Emmy eligibility is still outstanding.
Still, it’s always worthwhile to track what the people who know their specialized field best — the respective guilds — are holding in highest esteem, as forewarned is always forearmed when it comes to keeping an eye on the Emmy race to come.
