Gavin Volure with Steve Martin was another very funny episode of "30 Rock"
tavm16 December 2008
Warning: Spoilers
In this one, Liz and Jack are invited to a party at Gavin Volure's (Steve Martin) mansion where among the guests is John McEnroe who's an art lover who yells! Volure is interested in Liz who agrees to spend some time with him despite his agoraphobia. Actually, that's a cover since he's under house arrest for embezzling and racketeering! Meanwhile, Tracy fears for his kids after watching a Melendez brothers special on TV. Good thing he has a Japanese sex doll doppelganger in tow...After the partly underwhelming Jennifer Anniston/"Night Court" reunion episode, we're back in shape with this very funny Steve Martin installment of "30 Rock". And that Tracy Jordan sex doll was the funniest thing in the show this year. Especially loved "The More You Know" public service ad done by both Jordan and the doll. Thanks to Hulu for providing me the eps I couldn't watch because of house renovation that resulted from the tree that fell on us during Hurricane Gustav. At least I can watch the last two that aired on the disc I taped them when our house was coming back to normal. So until next time...

Gavin Volure (#3.4)

Warning: Spoilers
Jack takes Liz to a party where she meets Gavin Volure. It ends up that he is not an agoraphobe as he claimed but a criminal on house arrest always trying to escape. And Tracy is afraid that his sons want to kill him.

The show seems to have guest stars in every episode now. This is not surprising, it is a wonderful show and everyone must want to have a part on it. This week it is Steve Martin. And he is great playing the part of Gavin Volure. Also we see John McEnroe for a short bit as one of the dinner guests.

Th story about Tracy's kids is funny but I ended up mainly feeling bad for the boys.

We Meet Gavin Volure!

This is the fourth episode of the third season of 30 Rock and it's a funny episode and an improvement over the last episode. We seem to be getting high-profile guest stars with each episode and it's turning to be a good thing. This week, we get funnyman Steve Martin who absolutely rocked his character. The subplots are hilarious so this happened to be a fun episode.

In this episode, "Gavin Volure," Liz thinks she found her soulmate when Jack introduces her to a former CEO who happens to be agoraphobic. But there is more to him than meets the eye. Also, Tracy believes his kids are trying to kill him when they spend more time with him which raises Tracy's suspicions.

Overall, this is a great episode thanks to the appearance of Steve Martin. As good as his subplot was, I really believe Tracy's subplot was the best. His paranoia was just too fun to pass up. A very good episode. I rate this episode 9/10.

What i like about this show is whilst each episode is different there is a slowly everchanging continous storyline that binds it all together. This episode is amazing by todays standards(2021) and came out in 2008.

Tracy's doll

Warning: Spoilers
It's a shame Jenna wasn't in this episode, and the funniest part was the subplot of Tracy thinking his kids are out to kill him through a series of misunderstandings which had me laughing big time. Tracy gets his lifelike doll to help sort things out!

Wonderful to Steve Martin, but especially a cameo by John McEnroe! Yes, the legendary tennis champion makes a cameo apperance.
