How is this a filler?
dannylee-780821 November 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Rebecca-Sam plot is so cute! Really curious.

Nate is becoming a real dickhead perhaps from his own insecurity. I don't really enjoy the fact that the writers have chosen to develop him in this way because he was a rather likable character in the beginning.

The most consistent show on tv right now FACT!!

Best thing about this season is that we get 12 episodes.

Different kind of episode but in a great way as always. Won't get into spoilers.

If you aren't watching Ted Lasso you are simply missing out on life!

"filler" doesn't mean bad, you guys just aren't paying attention

I hate this site. This episode is not a 10, but i'm giving it top marks anyway to compensate some absurdly low reviews i've seen. I swear binge watching has ruined your brains, I can't believe y'all are complaining that it was just "filler" and "didn't further the plot" when there were so many important character moments like what's going on with nate, and ted slowly easing into therapy. They're also clearly planting seeds and i bet there's foreshadowing in this ep too. Like the sam/rebecca interaction, everything re: nate, beard's reaction to ted's "stew on the stove" comment and ted lying to the press. For a show that's about reserving judgement a lot of y'all keep jumping to conclusions lmao.

Things are heating up!

Warning: Spoilers
This episode is all about change . Nate's egoistic change , ted being mean to the therapist , roy changing himself for keeley. No one can stay sweet all the time , this episode showcases that in a perfect way. Ted throwing away the tissue box has various meanings to it. He still thinks low of therapist's job. Nate keeping the jersey crushed on the table has meaning to it. Its fantastic that writers have managed to do this in a comedy series . Its heartwarming . Excited for episode 8 ,9 , 10.

Decent episode
dbpgraphichub4 September 2021
Probably the weakest episode of the season so far, but still better than most other shows out there.

The one thing that's really getting on my nerves though is Nate - he is turning into a self-absorbed a-hole. Make up your mind on who you want to be - one moment he is a wuss and the next he's being a bully.

Different but still amazing!
jayde1983-13 September 2021
Great episode yet again from the most consistently brilliant programme on TV. Tinged with a bit of sadness and a sense of a few things at breaking point this week - no spoilers but it gave episode a different feel from usual 'feel good' factor. Sarah Niles is absolutely brilliant yet again, Jason Sudekis is a class act and shows a different side to Ted. Brett Goldstein and Juno Temple are great as always and Nick Mohammed is unbelievable.

Ted Lasso Fridays - bloody love them.

Nate is ruining this show..
joshbernardy138 September 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Honestly, I've never been very high on his character. He's too bland. His jokes aren't funny. And he literally adds no value to this show whatsoever. You have Roy on the squad now, so where is the room for Nate? The answer: there isn't. And I'm hoping that Nate's character arc, which is slowly becoming more arrogant and less likable (as if that were possible) is a sign of things to come. I.e. Relieving him of his coaching duties, and thus getting rid of him for good.

Another episode of Ted Lasso possibly losing its luster.

They are focusing far too much on sub-plots and emotions and distracting from the original purpose of the program.

Please don't

Warning: Spoilers
We all like this series because it's does not prolongs its stories, don't do like prison break where two night plan take 8 episodes. The epiosde doesn't move the story forward, Roy problem was solved by a Rose bath ? How do this solves their problem seeing each other.

And Ted porblem is what? Why he didn't speak about it on camera? Too many scenes that could be cut, and Rebecca hit abisania while they were texting each other ?please don't underestimate fans mind now. It's time for them to meet and just sack nathan, he starts to annoy me and that's good.

Warning: Spoilers
It's not Roy who should be apologising, Nate as I have thought for a long while now has let power corrupt him, he's becoming far less likeable than he was in the early days of season one. Ted has suddenly gone from being a likeable, funny, and happy man to someone whose almost every scene is the writers trying to portray that he has some problem that is in series need of addressing, which he clearly does, but we get that stop cramming it down the audiences throat, get to the point already, there's only so much therapist-Lasso back and forth that can remain interesting. I don't think the therapist has been portrayed as someone particularly positive, Ted has had a bad experience with them and the therapist is so far on screan doing nothing to help herself, she isn't exactly rude just totally emotionless and it makes it nigh on impossible to empathise with her character. The texting continues between Rebecca and Sam but literally goes nowhere yet, this episode and I do like it when people say it, but it felt a little like "filler" on reflection. Nate starts one way, learns his lesson and is back to his old ways in the - he hasn't changed. Ted is able to sit in the therapist's chair without storming off so that's progress. Keeley decides that she sees too much of her own boyfriend and in the end it's somehow his fault and he leaves her alone for three hours - OK. And some people text with no reply.

The episode was fine, all the issues will be ressolved in future episode, there is no doubt about it, but the only issues ressolved in this episode were ones the episode created, all the issues they had unresolved from previous episodes remained unressolved (with no progress) by the end despite being given plenty of screentime each.

Getting worse
hmnz-0933 September 2021
The show is nothing like season one. I think the show would've been better if they had some goal to achieve as a team instead of random bits and pieces of growth or political agendas in the episodes.

Should've just made the goal to get back to the premiership and actually have the team to grow with ted and get ted's coaching style to improve and then see the appreciation from the outside fans and press.

And Nathans character is just annoying now.

Hmmm... a bit iffy but still fun
rsodeyi3 March 2022
I'm not liking this flirting with Nathan's dark side but still enjoying the show.

Seems they are looking to occasionally dip into darker themes but hoping they keep it light It's great escapism in this sometimes crazy world.

Also enjoying all the cameos and guest stars ...and I'm not even a football fan really ...well outside world cup.

A little boring maybe?
askeland894 September 2021
This is the first episode so far that actually bored me.

A few chuckles here and there but I didn't actually laugh a single time. Granted it had some interesting dialogue, especially the therapy sessions. Other than that I'm not impressed.

Filler but ....
alimohamadaljameel-532326 September 2021
This ep might be the weakest of both seasons it's filler yes but this is not my complain .

I think ted lasso season one was better because of the theme " ted try to Adapt with his new team and enviorment " this allows for to many funny jokes and big moments

But Season 2 until now has no theme it's like crime tv show with every ep had a mystery to solve and it ends with it.

sad

Feels like every week the new episode gets longer and thiner, the only plot with something was Roy's, and even that had just the same ending.

Some bolder acting would've helped this episode be more memorable
truthbrarian5 September 2021
I thought the plot about Keeley and Roy was the best part, it was at times very romantic and taught a good lesson, don't let your frustrations bottle up until you have a big outburst of anger.

Ted's story progressed somewhat but I don't enjoy his banter with his therapist, and this goes to what I think would make this season better. If the actors were allowed to have more energy and emotion. If we let Ted pull back his façade somewhat and have more of a nasty tone to his voice, the therapist could have raised her voice some as well and really let Ted have it.

Also I have to criticize Nick Mohammad, I think he needs to really go mental and let the viewer enjoy a difference in character, if he is going to play a Jekyll & Hyde, his Jekyll side if you will is going to need to be louder and bolder in its arrogance and narcissism. When he goes up to someone to be cruel to them, Nick should be standing up straighter, with more of a intense glare and use the insults the writers are giving him to drive home that something deeply disturbing is brewing up in him. Take an actor like Alan Rickman for example, he just raises his venomous voice as Snape 10 decibels and its like the entire world is shaking.

Imagine if during the ending, Nick put himself into that menacing level and the kid at the end, his face was ashen pale with fright, then the viewer felt sad for him and suspenseful about where this plot was going, then I think the episode would have been yet another 10/10 for Ted Lasso.

Dramedy?
rosco5516 September 2021
The spirit they established in the first series is there, but like a second album from a band that had a good amount of time to write the songs for the first album, but too much touring and less time to write for the second album, that lack of time and thought is showing especially in this episode. Mellow drama, when it appears in a very smart, funny, comedy like this, has a fast food feel to it, little prep and no nutrition. If the psychological exposure of the characters was funny, maybe it would feel better, but to me it feels forced and unnecessary. I'll perceiver because when this show works, it's as good as it gets.

Rebba puts Le bout in again.
xmasdaybaby196613 June 2023
We are over half way through the series now but the show still seems to be struggling to reach the heights of the first series.

This episode was only 35 minutes long but seemed to go on forever with not a great deal happening.

The characters didn't seem to be working to their strengths and again there was only the occasional funny line.

It was good to see that Christian Louboutin are still sponsoring the shoes for Hannah Waddingham because while nothing was happening in the show, it reminded me of the C L. Thigh boots I bought for ScotsDee which she regularly shows off on her twitter page while wearing little else.

The stories get longer in length from now on so I hope good use is made of thd extra time.

High Expectations
Hitchcoc1 March 2024
This is not by any means an awful episode. Such a high bar has been set. The issues at work here seem somewhat trivial. I like Nathan but his arrogance because of a risky move going viral destructive to him. He has gone from the guy hiding in the bushes to one with a big head. We get to his issues in the next episode. Meanwhile, the odd departure of Ted is being analyzed. He is resilient in the fact that he can quip his way out of anything. He jumps in within a microsecond and takes over the conversation. The Doc sees this and realizes that she must be patient and allow him to really want help.

Running out of ideas
magoo104987 September 2021
This is the latest in a poor run of episodes for what was a great show. Trying to flesh out characters is what you would expect at this stage of a show like this, but this episode felt cheap, forced and terrible and reminded me of the acting and script from an episode of Eastenders. I really hope the writing improves. Maybe the show should have gone out on a high in 1 season.

The title of this episode spells out where this series has gone awry
jljacobi3 September 2021
The extra five minutes per episode hasn't helped this show. It sill has its moments, but said moments are being undermined, nay, drowned in a sea of preachy relationship drama, unnecessarily detailed side plots, and messaging.

If those are things you're looking for, then this season will delight you. If you're looking for the magic from last year (which walked the fine line far better), then you're out of luck. It's now full blown soap opera.

Another case of Hollywood misreading the reasons for success and ruining with excess.

One more thing... Where are the bad guys??

While it has some good moment, and acting continues to be strong, the plot in this episode was more of a "filler" for the next episodes.

Slowly circling the drain
namstonk4 September 2021
Some really rotten dialogue is driven home by some really bad TV actors, Sarah Niles is appalling. The series was pretty thin before but now it's pampering to the idiots, do people seriously think this is how football is? Hollyoaks is more believable.
