Hey, "Empire" fans. Unfortunately, we have some pretty bad news to deliver in this article. It turns out that it's that time of year again where your favorite show is going to have to take a back seat to Fox's coverage of the Major League Baseball World Series. Yep, that's right. The upcoming episode 5 of this current season 4 is getting delayed for a possible two weeks! It's definitely not going to air next Wednesday, October 25,2017 due to Fox covering the big Game 2 of the World Series. What could make this even worse is if the series is driven to seven games. That means the show would not air on Wednesday night, November 1,2017 as well! This is a big "if" though. It has happened in the past. In fact, it just happened last year causing Empire to be delayed for two weeks. We certainly hope that doesn't happen this year, but...

Tilda Swinton is precisely as enigmatic, eloquent, and insightful as you think she is. In a recent interview with The Wrap, the Oscar-winner mused thoughtfully about her sixth film to play the Cannes Film Festival, Bong Joon Ho’s “Okja.” Swinton is an executive producer on the project, a fantastical political satire about a friendship between a young girl and a hippo-like creature named Okja. Set in an alternate reality, Okja was genetically engineered by a greed-fueled corporation. Swinton plays an eccentric villain named Lucy Mirando, head of the Mirando Corporation.

“Circle, circle. Dot, dot. Now you have a cootie shot!” This make-believe vaccination is common practice on playgrounds across the nation to guard youngsters from the imaginary pathogen, but what happens when a strain of real-life cooties turns the innocent students of Ft. Chicken Elementary into flesh-craving rage zombies? Enter Leigh Whannell and Ian Brennan’s hilarious horror comedy about a group of misfit teachers that must team up to survive the worst case of food poisoning their school has ever seen.
Elijah Wood (Lord Of The Rings, Maniac) plays Clint, a writer/teacher who has returned home to Ft. Chicken to complete his novel and work as a summer substitute at the local elementary school. Sometimes, when I watch The Voice, I feel like Charlie Brown going to kick Lucy’s football.
I’m presented with the same data set I’ve seen so many times before — Adam and Blake compete in a head-to-head battle to win the allegiance of a country crooner, for example — and yet somehow I hold out hope that the result will be different.

In my apparent continuing quest to interview all the great voice actors living today (because they are the most fun, okay?), I now bring you my interview with the talented and Emmy-winning Maurice Lamarche, a.k.a. The Brain, Squit, Kif Kroker, Morbo, Lrrr, several Futurama robots, Dr. Egon Spengler, Dizzy Devil, Yosemite Sam, Mr. Freeze, Victor von Doom, General Var Suthra, Mortimer Mouse, Chief Quimby, and more.
It was a real pleasure to speak with Maurice, who I’ve been listening to in various guises since I was a wee thing (I was a big Inspector Gadget fan as a child; and then with Animaniacs, Pinky and the Brain, and Futurama being amongst my other favorite shows through the years, I guess I’ve pretty much been listening to Maurice all my life!). That's it. It's a wrap. The Tribeca Film Festival is over for another 12 months. And while it was an improvement from years past, despite a promising line-up the festival proved to be somewhat disappointing: most of the best regarded films ("2 Days In New York," "Take This Waltz," Searching For Sugar Man" being three prime examples) had premiered elsewhere, while the more high-profile, star-laden of their world or North American exclusives landed with a thud.
However, even while the festival still grapples with its own identity, there were some real gems in the line-up: there are a few films that justify whatever else we had to sit through in the course of the last few weeks. And let's not forget the festival did secure "The Avengers" and "The Five-Year Engagement," two films we loved (though try and ask any civillian who got into either and you'll hear a lot of crickets). Below,...

If you're more interested in the typical fall slate of festival entrees than summer's glut of tentpole action fare, this is a great week. The Toronto International Film Festival announced the first wave of films that will play the fest in September. This is a batch of about 50 titles, which makes up only a small chunk of the programming. Usually Tiff features between two and three hundred films. But these are some of the highest-profile entries. Below you'll find rundowns on the new films from George Clooney, Bennett Miller, Jay & Mark Duplass, Todd Solondz, Francis Ford Coppola, Cameron Crowe, Sarah Polley, Fernando Meirelles, Lars von Trier, Marc Forster, Steve McQueen, Alexander Payne, and Lynne Ramsay. No announcement yet of the Midnight Madness programming choices, always some of my faves, but this is a great start. This is quite the list -- there are easily thirty films here that could be potential top ten for 2011 candidates,...

It looks like we're in for another great year at the Toronto International Film Festival, and I'm excited to be just a little bit closer to the action this time around. The very first titles from the 2011 fest were announced today, and there were definitely a lot of familiar faces among the 10 Galas and 43 Special Presentations. George Clooney is back with two films this year (The Ides of March and The Descendants) and many other Tiff alumni are returning with their latest works including David Cronenberg (A Dangerous Method), Lars Von Trier (Melancholia), Todd Solondz (Dark Horse), Fernando Meirelles (360), Nicolas Winding Refn (Drive), Steve McQueen (Shame), Pedro Almodóvar (The Skin I Live In), Michael Winterbottom (Trishna) and Sarah Polley (Take This Waltz). Both Moneyball and 50/50 fill the requisite "big September release with awards potential" slots, while Roland Emmerich's Anonymous was a bit of a surprise pick. However, for the first time ever,...
