As his family, his new classmates, and the larger community all struggle to find their compassion and acceptance, Auggie’s extraordinary journey will unite them all and prove you can’t blend in when you were born to stand out.

Maiara Walsh (Mw): Well first of all, thank you! I’m glad that you enjoyed it, it was, as Bryan Bockbrader would say, “one hell of a ride”.
I've got a questions pertaining to both you, as an actress, and to the film itself, so I will try to alternate them for the most part. My first question is for you, and really, I'm always curious what leads anyone to get into this industry. I know I have a story. (Cbr) After lying dead for years, the planned sequel to the 2009 comedy "Zombieland" is suddenly showing signs of life. Deadline reports Sony Pictures has hired "Godzilla" screenwriter Dave Callaham to tackle the script under the supervision of Ruben Fleischer, who’s expected to return to direct (although studio insiders contend no deal is in place). Penned by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, the original film starred Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Emma Stone and Abigail Breslin as survivors of a zombie apocalypse on a cross-country road trip to the purported safety of the Los Angeles amusement park Pacific Playland. It grossed more than $102 million worldwide. While Fleischer admitted in January that the odds of a "Zombieland 2" were “slim,” he said, “I would not wanna put a nail in that coffin.” The director revealed the sequel would, of course, center on the same characters, but would up the stakes a bit.

Just like the macabre monsters they showcase, living dead films don’t die easily in film purgatory. In the wake of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies’ recent reanimation, the long-dormant sequel to Zombieland has awakened, risen, and is now lumbering through the early stages of development, as Sony Pictures has hired a writer to pen the sequel, and a familiar face is set to return to the director’s chair.
Currently referred to as Zombieland 2, the follow-up to 2009’s endearing zom-com is reported by Deadline to be heating up after a long stint on the back burner. Sony recently brought in Dave Callaham to pen the picture and Zombieland director Ruben Fleischer is set to oversee the script’s creation and return at the helm, though an official deal for the director’s chair has yet to be made. With shows like The Walking Dead and American Horror Story scooping up high ratings and accolades like they’re going out of style, there’s no doubt that horror is dominating TV right now. It’s even becoming a big time trend to turn popular horror movies into their own series’, with spin-offs of Psycho and Silence of the Lambs already moving into their second seasons and others based on The Shining, Scream, The Exorcist and From Dusk Till Dawn currently in the works.
That said, the road to success hasn’t always been an easy one, when it comes to TV adaptations of beloved horror flicks. Over the years we’ve seen many of them come and go, either failing to catch on with audiences the way shows like Bates Motel and Hannibal have or even failing to ever find their way in front of the cameras.

Fans of The Hunger Games will be pretty pissed at this one, but I don't think filmmakers Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer (known for quite funny 300 spoof Meet the Spartans and Twilight spanker Vampires Suck, care much. The names of the characters in The Starving Games are quite funny, with Maiara Walsh of TV's Switched at Birth and Zombieland series playing Kantmiss Evershot as opposed to Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen in the super-successful Hunger Games franchise, the second film of which opens on November 22nd via Lionsgate. Hysterically, there's even Hugh Janus and...Jason Statham? I mean hell, there's even Iron Man and Nick Fury in this poster below. Also in the cast are Cody Allen Christian, Brant Daugherty, Ross Wyngaarden, Dean West and Diedrich Bader.

For the second time, Futurama has drawn to a close. Back in April this year, Comedy Central announced it had no plans to renew the then-incoming second half of season seven meaning the show's last thirteen episodes were to be its final bow. But was Futurama ready to end?
The brains behind a little-known show called The Simpsons created Futurama in 1999, and it originally ran for four seasons. After being axed in 2003, Futurama was resurrected for a series of four DVD movies and then two extra seasons. Season five, which consisted of the feature films, proved a big enough hit for Comedy Central to commission a full-blown comeback for the Planet Express crew.

"Zombieland" TV series was a huge priority for Amazon, because the company finished putting together the pilot episode not too long after announcing that the series was in the works. "Zombieland" was just one of many potential TV series that Amazon was developing and decided that it will let fans choose which ones should get additional episodes and which ones should be thrown out. Apparently fans didn't like what they saw, because Amazon just announced that it will not continue with "Zombieland." The director of the pilot episode, Eli Craig (Tucker and Dale vs Evil), has already moved on to another project. The producers, however, have the option of taking "Zombieland" to a different company.

With Amazon's failed "Zombieland" pilot fading into obscurity, its director, Eli Craig (Tucker and Dale vs. Evil), is moving on to other things--namely, hooking up with Universal to spread a Little Evil. Read on for the first skimpy details.
THR reports that Universal has picked up Little Evil, a dark comedy spec from writer-director Craig (pictured). Eli wrote the script and will direct the feature, which will be produced by Scott Stuber and his Universal-based Bluegrass Films. The logline is being kept under wraps, but when we find out what it's all about, then you can bet that you will, too. Amazon.com released a Zombieland pilot episode over their instant video service last month, but it has been revealed that they will not move forward with an order of additional episodes. The pilot was released along with a number of original pilots in April, but reaction to the episode was less than positive from many of those who had seen it.

Well, bad news for that Zombieland series that was at Amazon. After debuting the pilot episode a few weeks back, Amazon has decided not to take it to series.
Customers were invited to view the pilot and voice their feedback. That feedback was going to help Amazon determine whether it should move forward with a series. Those behind the project are welcome to take it elsewhere. So, what does this mean for pilot director Eli Craig (Tucker and Dale Versus Evil)? Well, he's got his next film set up.

What fans of Zombieland may not realize is that the 2009 hit movie, written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, was originally imagined as a TV series.
“We wrote it in 2005 as a spec pilot and sold it to CBS and – this was pre-Walking Dead – and the idea was that zombies had been so successful on the big screen but they have never really been tapped on the small screen,” Paul said. “The success of Zombieland in some ways paved the way for The Walking Dead to be on-air, and The Walking Dead is obviously a huge success. We’re so happy to be back on TV.”

Zombieland: The Series
Directed by Eli Craig
Written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick
With the television landscape always changing, the newest player to enter the original programming landscape was the streaming video and DVD rental service Netflix, making a splash with House of Cards and the upcoming Arrested Development, a show they saved from cancellation. Amazon, however, is following suit in an inventive manner; the company recently released the pilots online of 14 shows they were considering picking up for season orders, giving the viewers an opportunity to vote for the shows they were most interested in seeing. One particularly intriguing pilot released was for the Zombieland tv show; based on the 2009 zombie comedy of the same name, the series is created by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, the same duo who wrote the movie. The pilot, fortunately, is also an equally...

Duck season. Rabbit season. Duck season. Rabbit season. Pilot season. It's that time again, when the networks cast, film, and deliberate on a new slate of potential TV shows. (Here is a rundown of this year's dramas and comedies.) Amazon.com, which had recently decided to throw its hat in the television business, is subverting the process, putting all fourteen of its pilots (eight comedies and six animated) online for people to watch and judge for themselves. Amazon will partially base which ones they pick up by the audience comments. We already told you about the Zombieland adaptation, but you can also watch the John Goodman–starring Alpha House (about a Washington, D.C. house where several senators live together), the Jeffrey Tambor–starring Onion News Empire (about the behind-the-scenes goings-on of the Onion News Network), and the many others over at Amazon Instant Video. One features a drop-in from Bill Murray,...

That news you first heard about Amazon reviving Zombieland with a pilot? It’s coming back to life a little quicker than you expected.
The website released two images for the series, which will continue the adventures of our intrepid apocalypse survivors, now played by Kirk Ward, Tyler Ross, Maiara Walsh, and Izabela Vidovic. We don’t learn much from either, except that things are basically as we left them back in 2009: cities still burning, undead still roving, and guns still loaded. It’s not not nothing, right?

Things are about to get a whole lot more undead up in here.
Following the success of the endearing 2009 movie "Zombieland," from director Ruben Fleischer, Amazon has ordered up a television pilot based loosely on the film's plot, EW.com reports. Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, who wrote the original screenplay, as well as producer Gavin Polone, will all participate in the new project.
Don't expect to see Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg and Emma Stone back for more zombie-slashin' thrills though; Kirk Ward, Tyler Ross, Maiara Walsh, and Izabela Vidovic are slated to star as survivors of a zombie apocalypse fighting for their lives daily. Eli Craig will direct the first episode.
The pilot order is unlucky (or, in the case of Team "Zombieland," lucky) number 13 for Amazon, which has committed to pilots for a dozen other original shows, which will be available to Amazon Prime subscribers. Viewers will have...

Amazon is adding a pilot based on 2009’s hit action-adventure-rom-com Zombieland to its slate of original programming. The film’s writers, Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, are writing the pilot; producer Gavin Polone is also returning. Filling in the roles of Woody Harrelson et al. are Kirk Ward, Tyler Ross, Maiara Walsh, and Izabela Vidovic. A statement from Amazon says that the show will follow in the same storytelling footsteps of the film, “and finds four survivors outwitting zombies and searching for a place to call home.”

Amazon Studios is moving forward with its cult comedy pilot, Zombieland. The move comes as the online player continues to bulk up its original efforts, with its differentiator being a crowd-sourcing pick-up strategy. Customers will be able to watch this Sony Pictures TV-produced effort along with 12 other pilots (six comedies, six kids entries) for free, and then help determine when of them will be made into full-season productions to air on Prime Instant Video. “Zombieland is a fan favorite and we can’t wait to see where this story line goes in a serialized format,”
