Decades ago, ads promoted women vacuuming in formal wear. The message was that even while doing chores -- which men didn't need to do -- women were always glamorous.
Oddly, some perceive the popular band, The Saturdays, in that way.
"We were joking earlier back here in the U.K., where we are pretty well known, and we were joking [that] our young fans they think we are in ball gowns doing chores," Mollie King, one of The Saturdays, tells Zap2it. "Like everyone else, we come home and put on jogging bottoms."
Their fashions, ranging from a cohesive look onstage to at-home casual, have been captured on "Chasing The Saturdays" Mondays on E!
"The style of the overall group is quite unified," King says. "We always like to look like, as the band, if someone went missing, when they were coming back in, people would know she would go with the girls.

E! announced its new reality series "The Wanted Life," which will follow the chart-topping UK band The Wanted. The series, which has Ryan Seacrest at its helm, follows in the footsteps of "Chasing The Saturdays," which hasn't been doing well in the ratings since its debut in January.
“America has a long history of falling for British bad boy musicians, so it’s no surprise that The Wanted are already beloved by legions of fans far and wide,” Seacrest said. “This talented and outspoken English-Irish band are setting their own course to fame and this journey is the foundation of the series. It’s a road that’s bound to include irresistible pop tracks along with plenty of humor, antics and drama behind-the-scenes, which I believe will further ignite fascination and even obsession with these guys.”

It's hard out here for a girl group: think back to the last successful roster of ladies who were able to take the pop world by storm. Destiny's Child? Danity Kane? The art of breaking solo (see: Beyonce, Justin Timberlake) has possibly rendered the idea of the music group useless when we're now trained to flock to the one member destined to go solo. And there's an inexplicable discrepancy with the rise of the boy bands (One Direction, The Wanted) giving birth to any powerful femme fatales.
E! and The Saturdays hope to change that, as the larger-than-life UK quintet looks to arrive stateside, starting from scratch in order to try making it big. Chasing The Saturdays will document the girls' journey into America as they try and launch their music career in one of the toughest markets in the world, and as the trailer above shows, it might not be easy.
