New characters

Well, I have always liked Adrien Brody, but that second to final scene with him meeting Cillian Murphy was one of the most intense scenes I have seen on television. With new characters played by Adrien Brody and Aidan Gillen, this show just went from a 10/10 to a 20/10! I cannot wait for the rest of this season!

Peaky Blineders are back with a BANG

Worth the wait. As expected, the BBC 2 delivered on their promise and hype about Season 4. Adrian Brody was excellent and can't wait for more.Cillian Murphy is awesome as always and the whole gang goes back to its roots in Birmingham. I do miss all the drama and detailed recreation of crime drama from the 1920-30s and Peaky Blinders delivers. What more do you want, than a feud between British Gangsters and The Mafia?

Warning: Spoilers
This episode (even this season and show) are well combined and justified in Brody's and Murphy's confrontation. Pure talent. Pure magic. Pure Grace.

Warning: Spoilers
Adrien Brody made television history during the last minutes of this show.

One of the greatest scenes I've ever watched.

It was a scene... from another dimension.

Sorry, Marlon Brando...

...but there's a new godfather in town.

Wow.

Wow. R. I. P. John. My second-favorite character being killed off was certainly not a fun thing to watch, and I'll definitely miss him. I'm happy this show at least payed him respect. These emotional moments were nice, and I'm quite happy they gave a funeral worthy enough for the character. The new characters introduced here were good and interesting, I'm excited to see how they factor into the show. As for Luca Changretta... He'll definitely be interesting for a villain in the season. Jesse Eden will definitely be a thorn in Tommy's side, and I can definitely tell that Tommy will be getting into a deeper and deeper hole. It was nice, however to see the whole family almost back together. I hope Micheal gets better, and I hope him and Polly get to go to Australia. So... A solid episode, but Peaky Blinders will never be the same without John. I'll definitely miss him.

This episode is really cool, kinda warming you up. kinda preparing for the worst yet beautiful. In this episode we are gonna see new character, who also looks crazy good and is a great actor. Thomas Shelby meets the Italian Luca Changretta. Reason why i only gave 9 stars this episode is meeting was only good and i expected little better.

Love that final scene with Luca
Neptune16525 June 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Changreta's Uncle made his suit so "every stitch was stitched with blood." The mob does everything as a family, and Thomas's family is severed. Changreta said Tommy didn't dress as well as him because he could see the Shelby family was in shambles. Such clever storytelling! Losing John who was one of the fan favorites in this show meant a lot to the show and the Shelby family because now Arthur and Tommy are left alone to do all the work by themselves. Mr Changretta is probably one of the best villains I have seen on screen. The actor portrays the role perfectly. Luca showing the inside of his jacket was a power move to show he was unarmed and didn't care if tommy knew. I'll never get over the fact that Aberama, the most savage bloodthirsty dude in the show besides Arthur, has his entire motivation basically be a stage mum trying to get his kid famous lol.

Episode 4.2
Prismark1012 January 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Luca Changetta's mafia gang wasted no time in attacking the Shelby's with John being the first fatal victim.

Tommy has to make peace with his own family and get them to stick together. Most of them want a truce but Tommy knows this is war and gets his own men together.

This also includes doing a deal with a treacherous gypsy Aberama Gold (Aiden Gillan) and his men to help.

However when militant female union activist Jessie Eden calls a strike, Luca Changretta easily gets access to Tommy and highlights that the Shelby's are no match for his gang.

The episode features a two pronged danger to the Shelby family. Reduced in numbers with John's death, Aberama Gold has been brought in to protect the family for payment but he cannot be trusted. Luca Changetta looks to be more organised and more deadly.

Adrien Brody had an extended scene, it is obvious that his contract stated that he has to be the best dressed gangster on the show and Brody certainly channelled Marlon Brando.

Pity

Pity they cast the hack Adrian Brody and his cheap Marlon Brando imitation for this season. Could've been a good one.

Stereotypical to say the least
ycorkettmayana21 June 2018
Now don't get me wrong, I love Peaky Blinders but have only just got round to watching series 4. Why on earth have they gone down the path of making Luca's character such a stereotypical almost cartoonish gangster? Adrien Brody has never been a great actor but in this he's morphed into a cross between Marlon Brando and Fat Sam (Bugsy Malone) - even down to chewing a toothpick. For the first time I've found myself wanting for a scene to finish, he's made it into a ridiculous charade. I don't have a problem with them including the Mafia but they've turned the scenes featuring Luca into comedy sketches.

She's back
Calicodreamin30 November 2021
This second episode of season four slowed down the momentum of the first, but still some good moments. The premise is more believable than last season and I'm interested to see how it all turns out.
