the hands

Few faces, informations, a parade, words of a young man, defining the word "love". Uganda. The mix of politic and measures against gay and transexual comunity. Testimonies full of sensitivity and hope and, maybe, idealism. But the hands are the lead presence. Their image and moves and the words as frames for them. Because it is a film like a large manifesto, not against the reality from an African country, not as testimony against a sexual community but as reflection of near reality defining our societies. Intolerance, hate, punishment against "the other", fear as seed for many restrictions, game of laws and simple people. It is easy and fair to define this short film as moving. But it is more. It is portrait of few voices and hands and presentation of informations and a precious and useful start point or just kick to reflect about yourself and the other. It is not unique. But it is necessary. Not for remind, not for have few informations, not for compassion for people living so far , in many senses, by you. But for feel. Their dreams, their hope, their fears, their vulnerability, their idealism, their future. So, hands. Back, in move, defining a cruel reality.
