Uhtred seems to have finally broken from Aldred which makes for some great drama. Love to see the scheming by all the main characters about what to do when Aldred dies and now that Uhtred is no longer his sword.

Repetitive plots between seasons is not something uncommon in TV shows. This episode, yet again the writers make Uthred do something to upset Alfred (yes, again even by killing a monk). And in turn, Alfred - again -demands that Uthred is penalized by swearing an oath. This time fortunately, things turn out other than expected. Uthred, like me, is tired of this all to familiar road and finally breaks with Alfred.
I am not sure if it is lack of creativity or just fear to stray from te path, but it strikes me that so often is chosen to stay on familiar grounds. And what strikes me even more is that a lot of people actually enjoy being served the same dish over and over again.
Let's just pray that this time Uthred has broken with Alfred permanently. If they somehow get back together again, I like to refer to what I've written above.

Watching characters change in one episode with no good reason is bewildering. Hearing phrases over and over is irritating. Watching characters be unreasonable and directly opposite of their previous behavior is bad writing. This story created chaos out of nowhere. I'm going to see if this continues.

Is it just me or the plot is stupid. Uthred avenging his Dane fake father but not his real father?
His brothers severed head was delivered to his gate by his fake brother.
His father was nailed through his mouth to a spike, by the Danes, and he is Dane for life ?
Brida the Undo the past would be killing the Danes.
