Absolutely adored Ronnie's method of storytelling, cast was brilliant, direction terrific, solid central character, film seemed to get better and better with each stanza, I found the end incredibly moving with a glorious overtone of love. The lightheartedness in the dark showed a very powerful message about survival, addressing the need to fit in whilst surrounded by overwhelming racism and undertones addressing the need for more voices to be heard in multicultural Australia, and calling out our quick judgements we make about peoples character. A film that not only must be seen by all Australians, but must be felt and heard by all globally with its universal message!

There are many great Australian films but none better than Streets of Colour in telling the story of places like the Western Sydney with the social implications of multicultural and living in lower social class status.

The film is written well to reflect people's experiences (especially the director's) with racial conflict regardless on what side of the equation someone might be where many can only imagine what it is like to live and deal with an important matter as such.

Great Australian talent and parts played extremely well. Congratulations to the cast and crew on an amazing production. It's a must watch movie!

Of particular note is actor Drew Pearson's performance of the supporting (yet in my view, pivotal) character Vic. Drew skillfully embodies the character of Vic by seamlessly incorporating the comedic elements in an authentic manner that reflects reality.

In conclusion, the film offers an societally-important, cinematic journey that invites audiences to reflect on the society we live in and the experiences of those around us.

I attended the premiere on Monday night at the majestic Orpheum cinema in Cremorne. Outside the theatre was a sea of photographers snapping away, as the stars of the show arrived in large numbers to greet their fans and other movie enthusiasts.

The cinema was just about at capacity as the audience were anticipating something special and as the credits rolled up at the end, it was tangible that the crowd were satisfied by the large ovation the movie received.

Streets of Colour was something many could relate to as discrimination and prejudice is everywhere. A great story combined with memorable characters and performances was a recipe that appeased many.

Writer and director Ronnie Riskalla incorporated his real life experiences growing up in the western suburbs of Sydney. This movie was heartfelt, genuine and powerful in moments as you couldn't help but feel for the protagonist with everything he was experiencing.

I'd thoroughly recommend movie lovers to watch this gripping Australian drama, as I believe many would resonate with it.

At times the levels of racism made the audience feel uncomfortable and even angry as Ronnie didn't hold back on portraying confronting racial themes.

This well balanced cast really took us on a unique and entertaining journey. I'd really enjoyed this spectacle and would urge others to watch it too.

Streets of Colour is an absolute gem of a movie, and I can't stress enough how amazing it is. The acting in this film is just mind-blowing; you'll feel like you're right there with the characters. The way they bring the Inner West Sydney community to life is seriously impressive.

This film really surprised me, it's got a lot of heart. It's a great little story packed with so much drama I needed tissues constantly. There were so much sad scenes and heartbreaking situations it really spoke to me even though I couldn't relate to the character.

It's an intelligent dive into life in the suburbs that I had no idea about or even cared to think about. It delves into topics that people are scared to discuss such as racism, drug addiction and violence. For the running time it loses marks for rushing through drug montages and trying to cram so much in and I'm not a fan of the C word at all. The characters were all very interesting and felt very real, almost like they existed in the outer western suburbs of Sydney. I was genuinely frightened in some scenes and just made me feel uncomfortable. The film starts with a punch literally a few minutes in and then takes you through a journey. There are so many lovely moments I enjoyed in the film and even some moments of comic relief that left all of us laughing. All the actors were fantastic, and the music was so very touching, soothing and gentle.

There is a lot of talent in this film, most Australian productions have bigger budgets but don't have this much talent wrapped up in one film, The lead, the guy playing Gazza was just terrorizing, the best friend Kyle - just a heartbreaking performance and the guy who plays Vic, a homeless man who steals our hearts as an addicted man whose also part time lawnmower.

The film tries to sell you it's a "gangster" film but it's much more articulate and succinct than that. There's a lot going on in the head of that director because there are so many themes here to explore like death and loss, cultural identity and assimilation. Then there's friendship breakup, family, immigration and even spirituality / religion. Too much for one film? - I'll let you decide.

I'll finish by saying - you won't know what hit you with this film, if you want a really good story better than a lot of these Hollywood tentpole films with big actors and very little story - go and see Streets of Colour - you will walk like I did, an emotional mess and pleasantly surprised. - P. S - Bring lots of tissues.

The attention to detail ensuring a flawless immersion in the story without any jarring distractions. Every element is perfectly in place. The music hits the bullseye, striking the perfect chord with its seamless integration into the narrative and hold your breath as flawlessly executed sound effects elevate the experience, amplifying every emotion. The symphony of teamwork is evident. From the tireless efforts in pre- and post-production to the awe-inspiring performances and the masterful touch of the editing process, every member of the cast and crew has contributed their brilliance. A standing ovation is in order for Ronnie S. Riskalla and the entire cast for their outstanding achievement. But let's not forget to tip our hats to the CREW, who have presented us with a polished gem that shines brightly.

Wow! The creativity of this Director and the essence of emotional architecture was outstanding. I was like that is and award winning moment right there - and then there was another one! An insight into the lead characters soul and sublimely our individual souls as to why we do what we do and how we are influenced by our environment. I feel like this will be a cult classic!

Well worth a watch, thought provoking and took me on a journey. That's exactly what you want from a film. There was heavy drug use however this fits in well with arc of the story and lower socio economic cultures. Well done to the cast, crew and production! I will personally be looking out for more films from this Director!

After seeing the poster for this film and then the announcing the WORLD PREMIERE at the classic Orpheum Theatre I was intrigued why a film shot in Western Sydney would have their premiere there in North Sydney? But let me tell you I was pleasantly shocked. I am a big fan of Aussie film - just look at my thorough reviews, they are harsh but fair, but this is a film that's sure to be sitting on the shelves next to Two Hands, Chopper and Romper Stomper. This is already a cult-film. The film is about racism but so many other things like cultural-identity, family and loss and a very well-developed multi-layered film dealing with social-issues in Western Sydney. Firstly, the story here is so engaging, compelling, interesting, thought-provoking and just heartbreaking. With that the comic-relief brought so much light-heartiness to this very dramatic story. There was another layer of the spiritual nature - which I though was interesting, you rarely see faith woven into a street-film, I'm by no means a religious or spiritual person but it brought a magical -quality to the film, and almost poetic. It really made me think.

The film is about Tez a middle-eastern young man is blamed for his best friend's death even though it was their other best friend (Kyle's) older brother Gaz who kills Akachi (an African young man) in a brutal attack in a car park then it sends him on a story of redemption. The films characters are all well developed., each one having a distinct voice and well arced. Riskalla manages to weave such authenticity into these characters that I felt like I knew them well. Based on his life experience Riskalla divulged he was bullied and chose to use his life as a loosely based tale in the film. Watching this film, I felt I could see the director's journey as he painted such an incredible canvas. Firstly, I applaud low-budget films - this felt like it was on par with bigger million-dollar budgets. Cinematography extraordinary, lighting was beautiful, actors are some of the best I have seen in any Aussie films, and a lot of them it was their first feature. Rahel Roman's haunting portrayal left me in tears. Elliot Giarola also brings an incredible honesty and heart-breaking edginess to the film. Then there is a force that hits you like a storm - Peter Maple - the neo-nazi styled Gazza, one of the best performances in the film.

Reminds me of American films maybe a bit of Romper stomper mixed with Two hands and American History X and Boyz N the hood. Veronica Cloherty also bring a nice warmth and definitely another stand-out. All the cast should get a mention but I'll leave it with the 2 dealers Adil (Zoran Gulaboski) and Kresna, they bring dangerous performances and also give us some comedy. This film hit me to the core, some great Aussie rap music which I normally can't stand but for some reason - it works? The film score beautifully composed and just heart-wrenching. Overall, the editing was slick and seamless. A perfect running time at 100 minutes.

I can't find anything bad about this film except for some ariel photography that I didn't think fit at the start of the film. There was too much drug scenes for my liking but in saying that it wasn't a deal breaker. In conclusion I promise you this will NOT disappoint you, it's definitely a roller-coaster ride full of everything humans face. And so glad it was an accurate portrayal of West Sydney showing the good people, the lost people and everyone in between. Riskalla is a masterful writer and Director and I'm eager to see more. This film promised that it would be memorable, and I can confirm, 2 days later I'm here and I can't forget it.

It's been a long time coming in my opinion, but real life in Western Sydney being showcased on the big screen is long overdue. Not the targeted pinpointing of one demographic over another, but a culturally sensitive and immensely thought provoking film. The drama was at times tense and gave you shivers, then in an instant had you smiling and quite honestly tearful. The cast was perfect and performances left lingering memories for me. The World Premiere was held at the Hayden Orpheum in Cremorne to a capacity audience. Well done to Ronnie S Riskalla and his team for telling this story that's well and truly overdue.

Excellent cast and crew and Rahel Rohman has lived the character with his acting skills.

The movie covers racism but also talks about cultural differences, family, loss, love- well written covering the social issues. I can't find anything bad apart from too many dark scenes for my liking.

The passionate display by each and everyone in this movie is commendable. A movie that will definitely touch us and go on an emotional roller coaster.

This is film takes on you a roller-coaster ride through the streets of Western Sydney. I have never seen a film take place in Mt. Druitt and it was really great to see what it was like. Based on the true story of the writer/director the film follows Tez a middle eastern young man who's dealing with trauma from childhood racism. He changes the color of his hair and eyes to become more Anglo-Saxon. He struggles with his appearance and his culture. The film follows 3 friends from different cultures until one of them is killed in a brawl in the street. It felt very real and authentic, and the story takes you on a rollercoaster ride of powerful story that will shake you to the core. It the film's pace was so good and the length perfect, I never once looked at my watch or phone. All the actors were terrific and gave outstanding performances. The film is photographed well, and the story is quite compelling and felt realistic. The music was very emotive and really made you feel the struggles of Tez. I promise you won't be disappointed or bored. It keeps you interested and entertained the whole time. I do believe some scenes felt rushed and could have used some more time to develop some ideas brought forth. The negatives are definitely too many curse words for my age but in saying that it felt like it belongs and wasn't forced or used in a way to be cool. I felt so happy for the cast and crew after the Q & A as they took us through the backstory. A sold-out film premiere on a Monday night in one of the loveliest theatres at the Mosman Orpheum Palace Cinema, it was a grand event. I can confidently say this film will win awards for its very confronting themes of Racism, Identity, family loss and friendship and a magical touch of spirituality that had me thinking about my own beliefs. Please support local artists and go and watch this beautiful film.

I thoroughly enjoyed Streets of Colour, This movie taps into social and personal complexities that are not addressed often enough in a modern and changing Australia. As a viewer you find yourself reevaluating and question your position on a number of issues that face a modern cultural sprawl. Racism, post traumatic stress, depression, drug abuse while entwined in this journey are ultimately surpassed by hope, love, faith, and humanity. It was encouraging to see such a diverse and versatile cast Raw and unpretentious. Ronnie S Riskalla is a natural storyteller supported by a humble cast and crew. Congratulations well done.

Wow, what an emotional roller-coaster. This film really pulled at my heart -strings. There were so many scenes that sucked me so into the story, I felt like I was right beside the characters, in their world of despair balanced with a mixture of hope. These feelings we all experience at some point in our lives and are relatable to the modern audience.

Seeing the urban landscape of Mt Druitt was really captivating - not often seen in Australian cinema. I felt privileged to be a part of such a unique experience at the Premiere last week.

Numerous outstanding performances - the lead character Tez carries the film so effortlessly and shows the ups and downs of a person dealing with loss, hopelessness and love. Suporting character Kyle takes a different approach in the film and lends his story to self loathing rather than forgiveness.

Other outstanding performances were from the actor who played Gaz, who is a force to be reckoned with alongside Adil who plays the menacing drug-lord. The flash-back scene in the church with young Tez and his mum nearly had me balling like a baby. Emotional stuff.

There were some comic relief moments in the film between the boss Adil and his henchman Kresna, that not only myself really enjoyed, but the whole cinema at times were cracking up with laughter.

This film is up there with the best in Australian cinema and offers a myriad of themes. Director and Writer Ronnie S. Riskalla presented us with a cult classic that I would be happy to watch a million times over. His exceptional casting, direction and storytelling has really left a mark on my soul and I'm sure will affect those who watch his film in the future.

Saw Streets of Colour film by director Ronnie S Riskalla & producer Yolandi Franken at its premiere at the Hayden Orpheum cinema. A top little Australian feature film. Gritty and dark, depicting the western suburbs of Sydney. It may be Aussie at its core, but it also represents so many other people and places around the world. The ongoing struggle to live and simply survive. The life hurdles that we all go through and the opportunities to choose a different path. Much more to this film than what it initially seems. There are many clues along the way. A film that makes you question your own choices. Enjoyed it immensely.

The story and the emotional ride are both winners. Apart from a well-crafted script (delivered with strength by talented actors) there is the delight of the TECHNICAL aspect of this production.

There's a firehose of colour, angles, cuts, scene changes, edits, and set design to keep us tantalised.

As for the props and costumes: a perfect match! Delightful to NOT have the distraction of items out of place that would have snapped us out of our hypnotic state.

As for the MUSIC: right on the money. Sound effects were flawless.

Teamwork was evident: from pre- and post-production to acting excellence and editing panache.

Well done Ronnie S. Riskalla and cast. And hats off to the CREW who presented us with a polished gem. The background hard work is invisible, but deliciously satisfying.

Streets of colour, a movie thats has it all.

I have been in mount druitt for more 30 years, growing seen this movie reminded what i when through my life.

Born in afghanistan coning to Australia start a new belong and we all want freedom to live and have a chance to live in peace.

In life with difficulties come easy that follow, the movie pointed out the issues and problems one can face.

I like it friendship love respect of other background and value the Australian opportunities one get and been great fully thats is a great message to learn.

Keep up the great work i believe this movie will touch everyone heart.

Streets of colour has the ability to make you laugh one minute and shed tears the next Touching on real subjects such as racism and substance abuse the film takes you on a wild ride through western Sydney's Mount druitt.

Shining some light on a world that some prefer to be left in the dark.

Rahel Romahn gives a captivating performance as Tez along side Veronica Cloherty and the rest of this amazing cast. Peter Maple absolutely smashes it as Gazza and is able to make you dislike yet feel sorry for the character at the very same time and another stand out performance is Tommy Ropati as Kresna.

Director Ronnie S. Riskalla truly created a story that will leave its mark on Australian cinema and all those who go in to view this film with an open mind.

Streets of Colour is an amazing and compelling independently produced feature film set in western Sydney. It's a gritty, down to earth portrayal of life in lower middle class suburbia; populated by more of a cross section of contemporary Australia than some may realise and many would credit.

In this community, everything is on display. Not like the silos of 'better class' suburbs and areas, where neighbours are anonymous and bad habits and behaviours are secreted from prying eyes and intervention.

Emotions are raw and exposed in poorer neighbourhoods, where scholastic achievements or even a lack thereof are not the measure of the man nor indicative of someone's opportunities, status or disposable income.

This dissociation with an outsider's view of this depressed world and the reality within it only adds to the turmoil faced by those living in this harsh, hostile and potentially dangerous environment. A powder keg waiting to explode, fueled by ugly racial antagonism; and explode it does!

Drama, drugs, gangsters and gangs are interspersed with those just trying to survive their own personal struggles, find love and fulfilment, spiritual intervention and the milieu of life as we know it in the interconnected information age.

This dynamic and dramatic tale is a great addition to a limited but very relatable group of films, also added to last year by the remarkable Way Out West, that provides contemporary insight into modern Australian life.

Highly recommend that you see this film and support the efforts of the many talented creators and amazing artists involved in this fantastic film.

A ride through the streets of postcode 2770 that you'll never forget!

You can easily settle into the first few minutes of this film feeling like it'll be an easy stroll through the Western suburban landscape of Sydney. And you would be so wrong, but in the best possible way!

Streets of Colour delivers a number of sucker punches straight to the gut. About who we were, and more importantly still are' as a nation. This film hits home hard a number of issues including racism, drug abuse, violence and broken families.

Don't be disheartened it's not all bad news!

At it's core Streets of Colour is a story of redemption and triumph over some of life's biggest and most painful adversities.

This stellar up and coming cast is helmed by the very capable Ronnie S Riskalla. Riskalla is most definitely (in my opinion) an "actor's Director". Only such a director would be able to articulate what is required from his cast. The gripping dramatic performances are proof of this.

The film is packed with absolute tour de force performances by the Lead and Supporting cast members alike. I'd say some of which are worthy of being right beside Oscars film contenders.

Streets of Colour will make you think about about racism, cultural diversity, spirituality and how we all fit together as a people. It may not answer all of them for you but it will prompt you to ponder them just the same.

This film deserves a large audience and it truly belongs right alongside other greats in the Aussie film cannon.

All's I can say is I'm now a season ticket holder for this Writer / Director. I cannot wait to see what Ronnie S Riskalla does next!

Streets Of Colour is a truly amazing film that is beautifully made. It addresses a number of important and universal issues that we can all relate to in one way or another. It made me laugh, it made me cry and most of all, it made me think. There's no doubt that it is a thought provoking and touching story!

The characters are depicted in a natural and realistic manner which is both refreshing and very much needed in Australian cinema. The performances are powerful and stay with you long after you watch it. It is an entertaining and worthwhile viewing experience all round.

I highly recommended watching this heartfelt film, you won't be disappointed!
