Jc Chasez is shifting gears for his first album in 20 years: He’s releasing a musical theater concept album inspired by Mary Shelly’s 1818 novel Frankenstein. Made in collaboration with Golden Globe-winning songwriter and composer Jimmy Harry, Playing With Fire will be out just in time for Halloween on Oct. 25.

Stars: John Cena, Alison Brie, Juan Pablo Raba, Christian Slater, Alice Eve, Marton Csokas, Sebastian Eslava | Written by Jacob Lentz | Directed by Pierre Morel
Freelance, the latest film from WWE star turned actor John Cena, delivers an engaging mix of action and comedy, elements that Cena has increasingly become known for. Directed by Pierre Morel, this film pairs Cena with Alison Brie in a fast-paced narrative that explores themes of survival and unexpected camaraderie.
In Freelance, Cena plays an ex-special forces operative who is lured out of retirement to protect a journalist (played by Alison Brie) on an assignment in a war-torn country. What begins as a seemingly straightforward protection detail quickly spirals into chaos as they find themselves embroiled in a political conspiracy, forcing them to rely on each other and their wits to stay alive.
Cena’s portrayal of a seasoned, yet somewhat jaded, operative showcases his growing versatility as an actor.

Many people have dreams of being an actor, sometimes in film and sometimes in television roles.
Some actors fall into the opportunity through lots of auditions, training, and from knowing the right people. But others get their start by becoming a famous name first.
Athletes are often in the public eye, gaining a following for being good at their chosen sport. Once they retire from their profession, some continue to grow their popularity through other ventures.
Many athletes turn to acting, whether through television advertisements and commercials like Coach Prime, Patrick Mahomes, Tom Brady, Derek Jeter, Eli Manning, and Kevin Durant.
Other athletes like Travis Kelce, Pat McAfee, Deion Sanders (Prime), and Dale Earnhardt, Jr. do podcasts to attract a following.
Some celebrities do one-shot cameos, like Michael Jordan and LeBron James in Space Jam, Uncle Drew starring NBA star Kyrie Irving, Airplane! with Kareem Abdul Jabbar, and Blue Chips...

Feeder have announced a new double album Black / Red for release on 5th April 2024 on Big Teeth Music via Townsend Music / Absolute Label Services. Black / Red completes a trilogy of albums joined to 2022’s UK Top 5 album Torpedo. New double A-side single ‘Playing With Fire’ / ‘Elf’ / is out now.
‘Elf’, which lead singer and guitarist Grant Nicholas describes as “a call to arms”, and ‘Playing With Fire’s “roller coaster ride of self-discovery”, reaffirm the band’s knack for sticky melodies and livewire riffs. Songs across Black / Red carry with them the same sense of wide-open space, freedom and possibility, aligned with an optimistic energy that first lit the fuse for Torpedo. Cohesive and connected rather than a concept, Black / Red is a continuation of Torpedo’s conversation but at the same time a full stop on a prolific songwriting period that encapsulates a very specific moment in time for the band.

They say that opposites attract, and there's no greater proof than the enviably-named Negasonic Teenage Warhead (Brianna Hildebrand) and her bubbly girlfriend Yukio (Shioli Kutsuna). Negasonic debuted her explosive powers in the first "Deadpool" movie, and she was joined in the 2018 sequel by Yukio, who had previously been played by Rila Fukushima in "The Wolverine," but has since undergone a complete makeover of her look, personality, powers, and, well, pretty much everything except her name. Blame the timeline.
Speaking of messed-up timelines, Deadpool's place in the space-time continuum is about to get even more funky as he transitions into the Marvel Cinematic Universe for "Deadpool 3." But at least he won't be alone; Deadline reports that both Hildebrand and Kutsuna have now closed deals to return in "Deadpool 3," which will be directed by Shawn Levy. Every time Blackpink has performed on stage at Coachella, it has been a history-making event. Their debut appearance there, on the Sahara stage back in 2019, marked the first time that a K-pop girl group performed on any of the festival’s stages. Fast forward four years, and the four-piece supergroup took the main stage for two weekends in a row to become the first K-pop group to be named headliners in Coachella’s 24-year history. Now that the event has wrapped for the year, Blackpink are finally taking it all in.

Undoubtedly, we’ve seen a steady uptick in both engagement and revenue streams of our documentaries, well above and beyond our narrative films,” Global Digital Releasing president Joe Dain said in a statement.
“We believe this change in direction will not only benefit documentary filmmakers by giving them a dedicated home in the indie space, but this niche will also help differentiate our label from the competition and allow us to excel in the sector.”

Paramount Pictures has renewed a first-look deal with Todd Garner. The head of Broken Road Productions first signed a production pact with the studio in 2018.
Their only film since that time for Paramount has been “Playing With Fire,” a family-friendly Paramount Players release about a handful of macho firefighters having to look after two stranded kids amid a wildfire. The Jon Cena-led release earned $69.4 million worldwide on a $29 million budget. The company is in active development on a Rebel Wilson-starring tennis comedy titled “Double Fault.”
Among other recent projects not specifically with Paramount were New Line’s “Mortal Kombat” reboot and the direct-to-Hulu comedy “Vacation Friends,” both of which have spawned in-development sequels. Ganrer’s production track record goes back at least as far as Vin Diesel’s first “xXx” installment in the summer of 2022. That entry spawned an Ice Cube-led follow-up in 2005 and the 2017 global smash “xXx: The Return of Xander Cage...

Blackpink captivated the 2023 Coachella crowd Saturday, becoming the first Korean act to perform at the California festival.
In true Blackpink fashion, the performance was a sight to behold. With special solo breakouts, awe-inspiring group numbers, and a healthy amount of fireworks, Blackpink gave fans everything they were hoping for.
For starters, the two acts leading up to Blackpink set the tone perfectly — Charli Xcx brought heaps of energy and some outstanding choreography, and Rosalía rode scooters around the stage while treating fans to some excellent songs off Motomami.
And though Blackpink’s set ended up being delayed a bit longer than expected, their arrival was monumental. Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa immediately broke out into their 2022 track “Pink Venom” and continued on with “Kill This Love” and “How You Like That” back to back. Needless to say, the crowd was energized.

Blackpink just made history at Coachella. The K-pop heavyweights — Jisoo, Jennie, Lisa, and Rosé — performed an almost two-hour-long set of their greatest hits as they closed at a jam-packed second night of Coachella on Saturday.
The performance actually started 30 minutes later than planned, but fans didn’t seem to mind the wait. A group of dancers kicked things off with dramatic choreography, building up the anticipation for the girls. Then, Blackpink appeared behind clouds of smoke and immediately burst into a high-voltage rendition of “Pink Venom” that elicited wild screams and cheers from the crowd.

The success of any horror-comedy can be measured by the number of laughs and screams it elicits. If it coaxes them simultaneously, so much the better.
By that measure, “Cocaine Bear” is a bloody marvel, an extrapolation of a one-line “weird news” story — bear dies by stuffing itself with cocaine tossed from a smuggler’s plane — into a brilliant comedy of errors and terrors.
Cocaine itself has, of course, been responsible for the creation of countless terrible screenplays, but as an inciting incident, mixed with the jaws-and-claws of a fearsome black bear, it provides a distinguished ensemble the opportunity to be (depending on the character) brave, cowardly, heroic, venal, crafty, panicky or, ultimately, dinner.

In the latest studio streamlining move Paramount Pictures has absorbed Paramount Players under the leadership of motion picture group co-heads Daria Cercek and Michael Ireland.
Paramount Players president Jeremy Kramer will step down after 18 months overseeing the division, which was initially set up for current Paramount Pictures president and CEO Brian Robbins to make youth-oriented films in conjunction with flagship brands under what was then the Viacom stable.

Playing with Fire (1975)After becoming an international sensation in 1974 with her for-the-ages erotic turn as the titular Emmanuelle, Dutch actress Sylvia Kristel had the European art world at her feet. Sylvia grew up in Utrecht, the daughter of hoteliers, before shipping off to Catholic boarding school, attending dance school, and finally making her way to Paris. There, she found small parts in movies, eventually winning Miss TV Europe, a title that would land her an audition for Emmanuelle. The film changed Kristel’s life overnight, bringing her both opportunities to bolster her sex-symbol image and break away from it. A new home video collection from Cult Epics—which includes Julia, Playing with Fire, Pastorale 1943, and Mysteries—highlights the delicate balance Kristel found between her sexy persona and art-house aspirations.Julia is the closest Kristel would stay to her Emmanuelle role outside of that franchise, and would itself become a video-store...

Exclusive: A busy week for Judy Greer. Earlier we reported that she was starring in the indie film LA Bound, and today we hear she will play Mrs. G. in the Nicholas Ma directed feature Mabel.
Joy Goodwin and Ma wrote the script for Mabel which centers around Callie, whose only friends are the plants and trees that surround her home. When her dad’s job moves the family to a sterile subdivision, she is utterly isolated—except for her best friend, a potted plant named Mabel. To Callie, Mabel is a peer, a fellow being, maybe overlooked or unseen, but still very much alive.
Helen Estabrook, Luca Borghesde and Ben Howe are producing.
Greer is repped by Artists First, CAA and Felker Toczek.
Greer can next be seen in Universal/Blumhouse’s highly anticipated David Gordon Green directed sequel Halloween Kills opening on Oct. 15. She is currently filming the...

The brand new trailer and poster are here for 20th Century Studios’ “Vacation Friends,” debuting August 27 streaming globally as a Hulu Original in the U.S. and a Star Original on Star on Disney+ in select international markets. The film stars John Cena, Lil Rel Howery, Yvonne Orji, Meredith Hagner, Robert Wisdom, Andrew Bachelor and Lynn Whitfield.
“Vacation Friends” is 20th Century Studios’ first film to have a global release on the Hulu and Disney+ streaming platforms.
In this raw and raunchy comedy, straight-laced Marcus and Emily are befriended by wild, thrill-seeking partiers Ron and Kyla at a resort in Mexico. Living in the moment, the usually level-headed couple lets loose to enjoy a week of uninhibited fun and debauchery with their new “vacation friends.” Months after their walk on the wild side, Marcus and Emily are horrified when Ron and Kyla show up uninvited at their wedding, creating chaos...

Whether it’s cocaine on a margarita rim in place of salt or mushrooms that Lil Rel Howery should’ve never eaten, John Cena is quite the bad influence in the first trailer for “Vacation Friends,” as everything he touches “turns to drugs,” giving Howery and his bride to be a bad trip in more ways than one.
“Vacation Friends” is a comedy about a couple played by Howery and Yvonne Orji about to have their dream wedding, only for a couple played by Cena and Meredith Hagner to crash it and claim they’re best friends. Turns out the two couples had a week full of debauchery and fun in Mexico together after Howery and Orji met them and decided to let loose.
“Marcus and I crossed paths in Mexico,” Cena says in an impromptu toast at Howery’s wedding. “We got to know each other…intimately!”

Right up until he joined Fleetwood Mac in 2018, Neil Finn felt it was very likely that Crowded House would never make another record. The band’s lineup had shifted several times over the years, founding drummer Paul Hester was dead, and an attempt to record a follow-up to 2010’s Intriguer a few years prior to that was such a fiasco that Finn decided to shelve the entire project.
“I felt like there needed to be a sense of occasion to bring Crowded House back,” the singer-guitarist says on the phone from his native New Zealand.
