Behold the new Wildcat
gatsby9160611 June 2020
The show continues improving. The episode tells the back story of how Yolanda fell from popular girl to school pariah. She made a dreadful mistake concerning selfies. The sad part is being harshly shunned by her own parents. Yes, she made a grievous error in judgment but to receive no parental support or compassion. Courtney maybe her salvation as Stargirl has selected Yolanda to be the new Wildcat. We get to see what the Wildcat can do. Stargirl now has a sidekick and more importantly, a friend. Who will she recruit next? A new villain is introduced as well as three important story points.

Wildcat and the actress is a great addition to the show, not great but a much needed episode
Holt3449 June 2020
This was overall a good episode but so far the worst. Some of the writing wasn't the best and the dialogue wasn't up to the level as the past episodes. The directing didn't feel on the same level either. Now it weren't all bad, visual and special effects were good. Costume design and that whole department did amazing work with Wildcat and the mysterious villain. This is a filler episode, without a doubt but it truly introduces a character and her adopting the Wildcat persona, to see and know her backstory was needed. The other character arcs of the episode were short but needed for world building and future story arcs.

Yvette Monreal as Yolanda Montez was the highlight of this episode, she nailed it and with character development she'll be a fantastic character and a good successor. This is the second role I see her in, the first was in Rambo and even there she showed greatness. I'm sure she'll do a fine job in this. From the comics, I know almost nothing of Wildcat but the show makes the character interesting with amazing powers.

Fun introduction to our newest hero
KookShanty10 June 2020
This episode introduced us to Wildcat, who was a lot of fun as a character but her chemistry was also great with Stargirl, the montage of them finding out about her abilities was really entertaining. This episode also introduces a new villain, who is already extremely cool, and hints at the appearance of two more classic comic book characters. This episode was a bit of a slow down from the last three episodes, which makes sense as it's goal was only to introduce us to Yolanda, but it did make it less exciting than its predecessors.

Yolanda is awesome!
hnt_dnl10 June 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Four episodes in and this show continues to amaze! For the first 3 episodes, the only heroic characters that got any kind of development were Courtney and Pat, which is obvious as they are the 2 stars of the show. Otherwise, the villains were getting the brunt of the storytelling. But now, finally, this episode WILDCAT superbly tells the story of Yolanda Montez (exceptionally played by Yvette Monreal). Opening with an empathetic backstory and following it up with scenes establishing her psyche and home life, Yolanda feels like a fully fleshed out personality after only one episode. The episode involves Courtney trying to recruit Yolanda as a member of Team Stargirl. A reluctant Yolanda gets sucked into helping Courtney on her first official mission. The chemistry between the 2 ladies is natural and effortless. They actually communicate like two clueless and inexperienced teenagers would. But they aren't completely helpless as Courtney's abrasiveness and Yolanda's pragmatism complement each other perfectly. There was a smattering of good moments to several other characters, but this was Yolanda's episode start to finish. Keep up the momentum, Stargirl!

Great but lacks action

This episode surprised me I never thought it would be this good! Yolanda/wildcat is a great addition to the new JSA! Her character arc is fantastic so far especially with the development in this one! Only thing that sucks about this episode is there's little to no action but stills great one!

Come on DC hire a decent writer for goodness sake
gareth-7544210 June 2020
4th episode & it's blatantly clear this is going to be another show by those who have no clue about this genre. Johns has no clue how to write decent story's, yes it's clear he can write but just like his comic book work it's cheap, trashy, cheesy & full of holes so big a truck can drive thru them, simply put he's just a bad writer, throughout just about every DC show or movie its all about the costume instead of decent character developement, the costume is supposed to be the disguise but with johns a character puts on a costume & suddenly becomes a superhero, ridiculous, just as ridiculous as the scenes in the episodes. So now in episode 4 an ordinary non powered girl dons the Wildcat costume & with no training & no powers can climb walls, slash through steel & perform ridiculous gymnastics, yet the original Wildcat was a non powered human, a hardened ex-pro boxer with anger management issues who wore a disguise only to protect his identity. Also in this episode we see Stargirl create a distraction for Wildcat by trashing a store room in a hospital, the room has no windows & only 1 door, a door in line of sight to the nurse stood at a desk, yet Stargirl mysteriously exits the room without using the door or being seen, also Wildcat is in another room while this is happening to then suddenly be dropping from the ceiling above the nurses desk, this is par for the course with the CW DC shows, terrible writing & gapping plot holes.

Tragic
ADAKENNDY8 June 2020
Warning: Spoilers
A female classmate loves the wrong person, and the villain's son sends nude photos to the whole class. This requires the screenwriter to recall a wave of timeline. Seriously, I am really distressed. The star-winning female screenwriter has racked her brains. I seriously doubt that CW is now Is it because the epidemic is seriously lacking in good screenwriters? After all, the girls put on black panther uniforms and don't need training. They can climb eight floors immediately like Tom Cruise, we don't know why, I dare not ask.

I couldn't finish watching this episode!
danger_mousie9 June 2020
Warning: Spoilers
The pilot gave the show the best start I could've hoped for (8/10) and I was frankly excited for what was to come. Come 3 more episodes later and I had to drop it midway! Why, you ask? The lead is **fundamentally** unlikeable and has the most annoying screen presence so much that I've started rooting for the supposed "bad guys"- her arrogance, the insistence that Starman was her father (he was not and she came to terms with it in Episode 1, and now she acts as if it never happened!), repeated dismissal of cautionary warnings from her Stepdad regarding the objects in the JSA HQ (who, by the way, would much better know what he's doing than Courtney!), writing so poor that the CW in this show has shown itself already (where art thou, The Flash Season 1? ):) and expectations from the showrunners that the story be driven by emotional dialogues accompanied by the god awful score and terrible modern pop soundtracks!

Not gonna recommend this show to anyone I know. The ONLY shows that to this point had forced me to turn them off midway were Supergirl (Season 5) and Batwoman- STARGIRL has accomplished that already! I honestly disliked Ruby Rose' Batwoman less than STARGIRL.

Great character, bad episode.
johann_hollar14 June 2020
The fact that the Yolanda Montez went from being the popular girl to having stones thrown at because of a selfie mistake, with no support from her parents, was all-in-all my least favorite aspect of this episode.

The fact that Courtney Whitmore was able to be there for her and try to raise her spirits by encouraging her to be Ted Grant's successor and colleague in the fight against the Injustice Society was the only aspect of this episode that was bearable.

I thought the wildcat girl was grounded why is she at stargirls place?
Ghostcrow_Opin25 April 2021
Warning: Spoilers
And all the 10/10 is either bots or you are easy gullible people who can't understand that stargirl is the dumbest teenager alive. She actually wants to cut the power to a hospital even after her staff and the wildcat girl is telling her not to.

And what was the reason to even show the toaster nothing else happened with that? Like are the dad even gonna ask her because he knows about the original wildcat.

This show is more of a supervillain show where u can see villains who have stolen superhero clothes become supervillains only by putting the clothes on them.

So are this show trying to tell me that the last wildcat only was wildcat because of the suite, really disrespectful!
