Its not an emotional episode, but the way they made it and delivered that message was..exceptional. I am a man and they made me feel vulnerable, making me see through what women/girls go through. Brilliantly done, in orher stories too, this episode kind of redeemed the 2nd season for me.

I'm writing a review specifically for this episode because it factors in something that makes this second season so brilliant - the amazing female friendships and feminist messages that run through. The group scenes between Maeve, Aimee, Lily, Ola, Viv and Liv are one of the highlights of this season and were absolutely brilliant, particularly when they highlighted the disgusting amount of harassment that happens on a daily basis. I loved the closing scene where they all get on the bus together as support for Aimee after what she went through. I also want to discuss Maeve and Aimee's friendship which didnt get enough focus in the first season but was a major component of this one, which I absolutely loved, and the blossoming relationship between Lily and Ola, which I'm hoping becomes something great. Also, I believe Rahim is a better fit for Eric than Adam is but I find it sad how Adam's life can never be good for long. Plus, Ruby and Otis is a surprise pairing which I loved.

I absolutely love this show! But this episode was my all-time favorite. I love the feels that this one gives you. It wasn't just funny and embarrassing like the other episodes but very touching, showed relationships among peers, helping each other through the tough times in high school. I liked it as it wasn't just about sex but other issues that teens face through high school. This is the best episode!

Deeply Troubling Storyline

Though Most of the episode is good and informative. The writers got one part of the episode BADLY wrong.
It emerges Ruby knowingly had sex with Otis. In the prior episode Otis is clearly shown as being incapable of giving consent for sex. He remembers nothing of losing his virginity, whereas Ruby remembers the entire encounter. Later it emerges Ruby intentionally has sex with Otis because she likes to sleep with nerds when she's feeling down. Otis then asks Ruby if SHE gave consent, and Ruby forces him to pay for the morning after pill.
Imagine for 1 second these roles were reversed and it was Ruby who didn't remember anything ans made to by the pill, and Otis said he liked to sleep with vulnerable girls.
For such an informative and sexually liberating program, I feel this was a MASSIVE oversight o the writers' behalves. It's quite troubling they didn't see this as any form of sexual assault.

When Amiee finally lets go in the library, I lost it but when all the girls show up to support her I lost it even more. It's maddening that no one helped her on the bus. If someone had done that to my daughter I would cripple him. This is one of the best shows EVER. The entire cast is a smash.
I loved this episode

I've never left text reviews on here, but I just had to for this episode. I just finished it and it was a beautiful episode. It was very cleverly written in terms of how all of the events flowed so seamlessly into one another and led so cleverly into the next until it got to the powerful part towards the end. The message, the empowerment, the feminism, the acting...it was all so meaningful and beautiful. The writer deserved a HUGE raise.
A Refreshing Episode

Otis is my least favorite character of this season, Ola and Maeve are also close to the bottom. So eventually I loved this episode because Otis-Ruby relation was much better and original than both Otis-Ola and Otis-Maeve; The girls storyline was pretty amazing without getting cringy and OMG Gillian Anderson can really act. What a performance by her. A bit predictable and wasn't about Otis which is a bit odd considering that this is the last episode before the final. If this was like the 3rd episode then yes this is perfect but now I am a bit worried about the final episode. "This episode was a surprise to be sure but a welcome one."

A great episode, and one of the best episodes of this series. There is one point: Malek is not an Iranian name but an Arabic one, and the Iranian family was more like the Arabs. I really enjoyed the other events of this episode as the feminist goals were really appropriate.
I don't usually write reviews on here but..

This one deserves it. Amidst all the wanking and sexual intercourse in the show, what it does best is at full effect here. I especially love how this episode is able to balance so many storylines at once, and still manages to be a relatively cohesive story.
The acting was great in this episode, especially by Gillian Anderson. Her acting after her conversation with Jakob absolutely hit me on a level I didnt think I had.
What makes this episode so great, however, is not Otis. The best part of the episode isn't Otis' storyline, but rather all of the prominent girls in the show. They get put in detention by Ms. Sands because of slander written about her. They all fight at first in what you would expect, but what really caught me by surprise was how the show treated its female characters with great sensitivity and empowered them without coming across like virtue signalling. I especially loved how Amy's character got the spotlight again, and how she overcame (pun intended) her trauma with them together. Its sex education without the educating by Otis, but rather by the girls discovering what they all have in common.
Storylines are furthered, revelations are found, peaks are achieved, and this episode could perhaps be among some of the very best on netflix, if not on all teenage television. I also really appreciated how the conflict between Jackson and his mums was handled, as I felt they never really got their proper moment to shine until now. It was nice to see one of his mums being accepting of him joining the school play. It really flips the jock archetype on its head.
Also Adam is Adam in this episode, but I won't say why.

Geez. So they get an assignment to find what they have in common as women and the best they can come up with is "being victimized by men"? It's like having a group of lower class people together, give them the same assignment, and what they come up with is "being dominized by the 1%". IS THÁT WHAT BINDS YOU TOGETHER AS WOMEN? I'm sorry if you've been treated like that, but this is some some cheap sappy writing... just hopping on to take some #metoo points.
Bit of a typical message

Victimize the women - vilify the men - bond against evil men. Blah. Idk if that's the most amazing message that needs to be delivered.
But from the standpoint of the show itself, it is interesting that girls with not much commonality bond together in an interesting fashion.
Also, Mr. Groff is such a disgusting character. No need for pity at all. What he did was criminal.

When out of ideas, blame Patriarchy
nickeron12 February 2020
Worst episode of the series. It had the most immature writing so far.
It is fashionable at the moment to blame Patriarchy for everything wrong with the world, but this series should be above that.
Laurie, you've done a great work with this series, but once you've created your world and your characters, think of them. They should be the ones pushing the story, not politics.
Not good at all
