You have questions. Let me explain. (Pt.3)
opreston-15 March 2020
Warning: Spoilers
How is Cailey Fleming one of the best actors on the show and she's only 12? When Judith killed her first human, that look of shock and horror of watching someone die before her eyes because of her, and that entire scene with her and Earl; just.. She has a bright future ahead of her. On to the QnA!

Why didn't Negan kill Alpha sooner?

  • To gain her trust. Killing Alpha would have started the war by Beta. Negan's goal was to prevent it to the best of his ability. That meant getting on the good side of Alpha so she'd listen to his advice. Negan asks Alpha in 10x11 to spare the lives of the communities and make them "bend the knee"; she doesn't listen and decides to kill everyone to add to her horde. Negan failed, and since the war has already started, he had no other choice but to kill her then and there.

Why did Negan tie up Lydia?

  • For her own protection. She was limping through the woods, and Negan happen to see her. Of course, Lydia isn't going to trust Negan when he is with the Whisperers, so he knocks her out and ties her up in a secluded cabin. That way, no Whisperers would find Lydia while she's limping and can't defend herself, and be brought to Alpha.

Why did Carol act so recklessly if she already had set Negan out to kill Alpha?

  • There was no guarantee Negan would follow through with the plan. Setting Negan out was another reckless plan of Carol's if anything. This time it happened to work out. So when Carol sees Alpha roaming around after she set Negan free, of course she's going to take the chance and kill Alpha herself. Like Carol said, "Took you long enough." Negan wasn't the plan, he was a plan.

Why did Alden kill walker Mary instead of Beta?

  • Plot. Seriously writers, I don't want Beta to die yet, especially by Alden, but stop putting him in situations where he should have died. My only gripe of the episode.

Is there a more badass duo than Carol and Negan?

  • No.

Tidbits: Earl took the kids to that hangout spot where Henry got drunk with those teenagers in Season 9, as indicated by the shattered window.

Carol had a cool comic nod moment with that ground walker that kept touching her. That scene was also very funny.

Carol and Eugene never had a one on one scene together. Was very nice to see.

Carol and Negan also never shared a scene together up until now, and it's one of the most iconic moments in the show's history. New power couple? Yes please.

The best The Walking Dead episode in years
Martin_West12215 March 2020
Where should I start?

10 seasons in, The Walking Dead is better than ever. This episode had everything, and some more. Intense action sequences, world-class make-up, good direction, and twists I never saw coming.

The ending scene was amazing and makes me wonder what will happen next. Well done, Angela Kang!

Negan Is Back
sidolanters15 March 2020
After a long time of building up tension this episode delivers relentlessly, throwing a lot of surprise punches throughout and concluding with the most epic, bone-chilling moments since the introduction of Cailey Fleming's Judith in Season 9, and probably the most bad-ass Walking Dead moment of the entire show. Samantha Morton delivers yet another powerhouse performance as Alpha, Judith takes it upon herself to protect the future of the Survivors, and most importantly, Negan is back!

I can't wait for the next episode, which seems to be a Michonne-centric episode. I loved this episode and I love this show. This is by far the most exciting season yet.

Just WOW!
davisond-9573015 March 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I didn't think it was possible for the show to keep going without Rick but I was wrong and this clearly shows it as Kang is at it again giving us an action packed, brutal and emotional episode filled with twists and turns.

The Hilltop is up in flames, flooded with walkers and whisperers. Fires and explosions surrounding the survivors. Judith accidentally kills a human while fighting off the dead and Eugene runs into the burning building to try and save his radio/date. There is ash everywhere and Yumiko makes a shocking discovery as she discovers Magna blending in with the horde, where is Connie?

In the aftermath, Negan is deliberately mercy killing the injured survivors rather than letting them turn decreasing the chances for Alpha to gain more guardians, he ignores Beta when told to herd and runs into an angry Aaron while searching for Lydia.

Alden, Kelly, Gamma and baby Adam are on the road looking for safety and comes across a group of walkers so they take shelter in an abandoned car and Gamma takes action before getting stabbed by Beta! She rips off half his mask so he finishes the job giving her the killing blow, a whisperer discovers his identity so he gets a slit throat and Alden puts down a reanimated Gamma.

The kids from Hilltop are all safe and held up in a little shack where it's revealed Earl was bitten in the battle, this is a sad and dark moment which is sure to shed some tears for certain viewers. Daryl and the rest of the survivors find the kids just in time.

Magna tells Yumiko that Connie was also amongst the horde but she slipped away due to being pushed around by the dead so it's unsure if she's alive or dead, Yumiko then punches Carol in the mouth for what she put Magna through.

The biggest twist of all, Negan captured Lydia and tied her up in the a cabin where he then leads Alpha to, only he realises she will not stop til she kills her daughter so he leads her to a different cabin slitting her throat and holding her in his arms. He then hands Carol her head in a bag where it was revealed that she let Negan escape in episode 4.

The Aftermath of Hilltop Battle
claudio_carvalho17 April 2020
After the Hilltop Battle, the survivors try to regroup at a planned location. Negan captures Lydia and holds her captive tied to a chair in a cabin. Then he meets Alpha and tells her that he found what she was looking for but there is a surprising conclusion.

"Walk with Us" is one of the best episodes of the Tenth Season of "The Walking Dead". The plot is great, but the surprising conclusion is awesome. My vote is nine.

Title (Brazil): "Caminhe Conosco" ("Walk with Us")

Note: On 10 January 2024, I saw this episode again.

I'm unable to see what fans are seeing. Are we watching the same thing?
blazed201917 March 2020
I really don't share the same perspective or understand some of these high rating reviews, they seem so delusional.

"Great battle"? There was a mediocre, short battle. Have you guys not seen any quality TV series? Hello? Not a single GoT battle? Even when they had a limited budget? What about the Witcher? Or any Super hero series for that matter. This battle is one of the worse I've seen if we go by comparison, and I'm really talking about a side by side comparison.

"People who quit watching are missing out?" Don't worry about other people, just because you enjoy crap does not mean they will, chances are if they stopped watching this series, they would probably hate it more so now. "Best Episode yet"? There hasn't been a best episode since season 1 where the show should have finished with a strong start before the insanely rapidly declining quality. Sacking of the original director seems to have reduced the overall quality.

"Clever writing, clever twist"? Only in TWD you can get a story line where Alden shoots a zombie attacking Beta (the enemy) bullseye in the head. Whilst avoiding Beta altogether... Erm why? Not a single good reason or logical explanation could be given. Why did Negan not Kill Alpha when they had intercourse and were isolated stopping a potential war? No good reason. Why Negan even TIE Lydia to a chair if you're only protecting her? So Walkers can munch on her if they manage to get in? What purpose did the ROPE have besides pretending to build up tension and drama? This is trash story writing, oh my god it's so bad, I feel insulted by having to watch the script written.

Anti-climactic ending to the episode, didn't find it impressive at all, it was not clever in any way, shape or form, no Negan and Carol didn't look badass or clever, and it was a total waste of biggin up a character with such a lacklustre closure.

Even if you're an overly positive person who wants to praise everything, just a loyal sheep fan, you're in fact rewarding mediocrity and a lack of skill which in effect is a negative contribution.

For example no will bother to learn how to master art and draw like Leonardo or sculpt like Michelangelo, if you can make more success and praise by just slapping paint onto and canvas in 2 minutes and calling it "abstract painting". It devalues mastery, if people enjoy lazy writing as much as masterful writing, no one will spend the time and effort to write a master piece. Terrible series, terrible episode, as usual. I'm only watching it because I've already invested into it and it's mainly been the only zombie series. If i could do it all again, I'd stop after the first season which was great.

Letting Character Drive the Plot
ThomasDrufke16 March 2020
Warning: Spoilers
After the cliffhanger last week mid-battle at Hilltop, I figured a majority of this week's episode would be covering that conflict and the possible resolution of The Whisperers in general. While I was partially right, I certainly didn't think the structure of this week's episode would be much more 'walk and talk' than it would be an all out battle outside of the Hilltop walls. Luckily, that's the type of Walking Dead episode I usually enjoy. Some of my favorite material to ever come out of this show was back in season 4 and 5 while the crew was scattered across the towns, trying to find a new home, while also dealing with the losses at the hands of Terminus and The Governor.

It felt like there would be at least a few episodes of battle aftermath while they gear up for one final showdown with Alpha. And if I'm being honest, I found the death of Alpha to be a bit anticlimactic. It was cool seeing Negan kill her in a similar way to when Rick nearly killed him. And the twist with Carol letting Negan out of his cell to essentially take out Alpha was also clever, but it left something to be desired at the end of the day.

But at the very least, I was excited to see this show went back to having characters drive the plot instead of the other way around. It will be interesting to see how the team will do with Beta & the remaining Whisperers still at large, without their leader.

Alpha's Ending
ZegMaarJus15 July 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This episode begins with the group, Hilltop has just been set on fire by Alpha. The battle continues at Hilltop. Negan grabs Lydia. Gamma got stabbed down by Beta with a knife, she died instantly. Beta slits a troath of another Whisperer with a knife, he died instantly. Magna survived the cave Explosion, she tells that she couldn't find Connie back. Earl killed himself. Alpha wants to kill her own daughter Lydia. Negan kisses Alpha. Negan slits trough Alpha's troath, she bleeds to death. Negan killed Alpha for Carol, what a reveal. Amazingly good episode of The Walking Dead Season 10, what a episode this was. Everything was in it. Blood, emotions, action. Alpha got killed by Negan, he did this for Carol.

"Took you long enough"
ninjaboyballer16 March 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Man this episode had probably the most satisfying moment on the show in a while. The opening scene alone had great cinematography, set pieces, and action. The in this episode while not as good as Stalker's tension it still was intense. Gamma's death was tragic because she died protecting her nephew and never even got to know him. Which they also teased BetaM's identity though they probably won't go into that until later. Earl's death was sad because he tried sacrificing himself to save Judith and the kids. And Alpha's death was probably one of the most satisfying payoffs in the series and the way its built up is brilliant. There are all lot of other smaller moments that make this episode great. Like Daryl and Judith comforting each other, Carol encouraging Eugene to go after Stephanie,(even though it feels like a bit more unless art setup for the finale but whatever I can live with it), and Judith in shock as she realized she's killed her first person. All those moments make it feel special and human.

Overall this episode had great emotion, action, suspense, filmmaking, and one hell of a great death. I also can't believe that Carol and Negan were working together to kill Alpha, that's so dope. Can't wait for Michonne's last outing and how this season will conclude.

Final rating: 9.5/10

OK Segment - but ONE big flaw.
sfmar16 March 2020
Warning: Spoilers
One objection/gripe: Seriously, shouldn't Alden have killed Beta with an arrow first and then kill Mary? Once again Beta makes a clean getaway thanks to lazy writing. After all, Mary wouldn't have run off and would have been an easy target - so why didn't he kill Beta first? NOTE: I may have meant Gamma, not Mary - I lose track of the names sometimes.

The Walking Dread - deleted by the PR department
Rob-O-Cop17 March 2020
Warning: Spoilers
My words are so upsetting that the PR dept have reported my review, 3 times now. interesting. Make no mistake the current iteration of this program bears no resemblance to the initial episodes that built the franchise in its first few series.

It's turned the show from one you used to wait with baited breath to watch the next installment, to a show that you dread like a trip to the dentist, or merely feel indifferent about. You know it's going to be cheesy, 80% bad, 60% terrible, 50% frustrating, 90% not good watching entertainment, but you remember when it was good and you hope, hope, hope it will come back, even if just by blind luck, but it consistently and sadly doesn't.

Any one of us feels we could write a better show now. The mistakes and plot holes feel so obvious and massive.

This is NOT the best episode ever, this is not a return to form, this is not the compelling show it once was, no one is being fooled by this.

This is a show with serious production issues, struggling and failing to NOT trip over itself. It has some good actors, and yes Cailey Fleming is one of them, but they are given terrible, terrible story lines to wade through. Good opportunities are squandered, over and over again, and things just don't make sense. Yes this episode was less bad, as indicated by 4 stars instead of 3, but the show has sunk so far, we've been sitting with our feet in the gutter for so long that we think the curb is up. Each next episode fills me with dread, not because it is a captivating show any more and I'm terrified and excited for the journey of the characters, but because it's a chore to watch now, I feel I have to give it one more chance, after once more chance to see if someone got fired and someone good got hired who can steer this show back to the captivating world that it should be. Watching this show is like doing something you really don't want to do, like cleaning the garage or scraping the scum out of the guttering. Thankfully we won't have to put up with Samantha Morton's terribly misfire of a character any more. A chore to suffer through her horrible rendering of a potentially scary and interesting character. I can imagine how the whole whisperers story could have played out much much better. Don't show us their camps, don't show us anything about them, keep them like they were when we first met them, a mystery. Then we wouldn't question how they dug a ludicrous tunnel, or how many people they've got to wage a war, or how they manage to front a trained army of archers, but we've seen their camp, and how they live and it's just not possible, we're not stupid enough to believe
