The origins of Lawrence Kasdan's "Wyatt Earp" rest within the troubled production of Kurt Russell's "Tombstone". In the early 1990s, Kevin Costner, who was busily branding himself as an all-American hybrid of Gary Cooper and James Stewart, hooked up with "Glory" screenwriter Kevin Jarre to make "Tombstone," an epic film about the legendary, real-life lawman. This would've afforded the ambitious Costner a connection to another red-white-and-blue big-screen icon, Henry Fonda, who'd turned in what was then considered the definitive performance of Earp in John Ford's 1946 classic, "My Darling Clementine."
But Costner, who'd just won Oscars for Best Picture and Director with "Dances with Wolves," disapproved of Jarre's ensemble vision. He wanted his warts-and-all take on Earp to be the film's sole focus. When Jarre resisted, Costner bolted the project and pursued his own telling of Earp's tale.

San Francisco, March 2 (Ians) Microsoft-owned OpenAI has announced that it is now allowing third-party developers to integrate ChatGPT and Whisper into their apps and services with an application programming interface (Api).
With the introduction of ChatGPT and Whisper models to the Api, developers now have access to cutting-edge language and speech-to-text features, the company said in a blogpost.
“ChatGPT Api users can expect continuous model improvements and the option to choose dedicated capacity for deeper control over the models,” it added.
OpenAI also mentioned a few companies which are using the new APIs including Snap’s My AI feature, which was announced earlier this week.
For the ChatGPT Api, OpenAI is offering 1,000 tokens for $0.002 and said that is “10x cheaper than our existing Gpt-3.5 models.”
“Developers who use the gpt-3.5-turbo model will always get our recommended stable model, while still having the flexibility to opt for a specific model version,...

It’s unkind to revel in someone else’s failure, but what a gift that this is The Amber Spyglass adaptation we got. It’s hard to imagine New Line Cinema’s defunct film trilogy getting anywhere near so much so right.
The Mulefa, the Land of the Dead, Marisa Coulter’s transformation… all of Philip Pullman’s weirdest and most beautiful ideas have been cradled on their way to the screen by this extraordinary creative team and cast. His story’s been translated in a way that loses nothing and heralds its most vital message: the transformative and rebellious potential of love and storytelling.
If that last part sounds at all hokey to you, know that it’s rendered here with zero schmaltz. Episode five ‘No Way Out’ is a horror movie with a surrealist setting, and actual monsters. There...

Ahead of this year’s FIFA World Cup, set to take place in Qatar in November, Whisper, Final Replay and Sony Pictures Television, in association with soccer-themed streaming platform FIFA+, are producing a 10-part docuseries about the history of the tournament titled “Moment Of Truth.”
The series will “examine the world’s favourite sport through the lens of human endeavour,” according to the official logline. “Why do we care so much about the game? What makes exceptional footballers tick? What lifts teams to greatness? What does it tell us about ourselves?”
The answer to those questions – and the themes around which the docuseries is built – are located in the words “absolution, cunning, genius, courage, inspiration, joy, art, passion, hope and wisdom.”
The series, which will look at both the men’s and women’s tournaments, will offer never-before-seen access to the FIFA World Cup archives dating back to the 1930s...

The great acting legend Sidney Poitier died in January at age 94. He did not live to see the thrilling new documentary on his life and career, Sidney, which had its world premiere Saturday night at the Toronto Film Festival. However, it had its blessing, and that of his family, for a film that has been percolating and in development and then production for five years. And although Poitier himself didn’t get to see the finished work, everyone else will beginning on September 23 when it begins streaming on Apple TV+ and playing in selected theaters.
With Oprah Winfrey on board as a producer (with Derik Murray) and Reginald Hudlin as director, Poitier gets an extraordinarily comprehensive and wide-ranging look at his life told in linear fashion and narrated by himself through the use of eight hours of interview footage done in 2012 with Winfrey, as well as other archival interviews. Maia Mitchell looked gorgeous in a wet bikini and showed off her incredible physique.
The beautiful Australian actress looks stunning for a new photoshoot with Britt Lucas.
All of the looks are amazing, but the picture that blew everyone’s mind is one where she is wearing a blue and orange wet bikini.
The strings and straps of the bikini are pretty thin, giving it a very delicate and modern look. Not to mention, it hugs her curves perfectly.
Maia is seen getting out of the pool with her hair slicked back and some petite gold earrings.
Mitchell makes sure to show off her amazing and toned body, making that bikini look a million times better.

Regeneration: Black Cinema 1898-1971, the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures’ second major temporary exhibition, opening Aug. 21, is a nuanced exploration of the ways in which Black filmmakers and performers have impacted, defined and expanded American movies. The exhibition (which was five years in the making) takes a comprehensive look at film history and Black visual culture more broadly, highlighting notable items like original costumes worn by Lena Horne in Stormy Weather (1943) and Sammy Davis Jr. in Porgy and Bess (1959), tap dance shoes from the Nicholas Brothers and one of Louis Armstrong’s trumpets.
The beginning of the show, 1898, marks the creation of “the first known moving image footage of African American performers onscreen, [seen] in a dignified way,” says Doris Berger, co-curator and vp curatorial affairs at the Academy Museum. The show concludes with material from 1971, the dawn of the Blaxploitation subgenre, acknowledging the...

That was one crazy day in Chucalissa!
The Mayoral election and the grand reopening of The Pynk were in the spotlight on P-Valley Season 2 Episode 9.
The mayoral race certainly got spiced up thanks to Autumn's unrevealed brainstorm on P-Valley Season 2 Episode 8.
Autumn found work for four of her laid-off strippers, who showed off their dance moves in Andre's campaign ads. As popular as The Pynk is in Chucalissa, those ads gave him a bump in the polls.
Not to be outdone, Patrice performed her pole dance on the back of a truck driving down the main drag. Then she used money guns to shoot away the bribe that Corbin had given her. That woman is shameless.
As the newscaster notes, "Things are getting dirty down in the valley."
It wasn't at all surprising that the results weren't available by night's end. It was an election amid a pandemic in a...

Chucalissa, and The Pynk in particular, are places in transition.
That fact was made abundantly clear on P-Valley Season 2 Episode 8.
The Promised Land casino, Chucalissa, and The Pynk are so intertwined that the outcome of the first will help determine the fate of the last two locations.
So it was little wonder that the mudslinging began in the Chucalissa mayoral race, with Andre the primary victim of it.
Andre brought most of this exposure on himself. In addition to screwing around with ex-stripper-turned-strip-club owner Autumn, he lied about his father being dead instead of being on Death Row for murder.
Andre missed an opportunity there. Indeed, having overcome such a father through his relationship with a new father figure, the late Mayor Ruffin, made for a much better success story.
But Andre also was caught up in the feud between Corbin, his primary financial backer, and the interim mayor, Wayne Kyle.

"I met a girl... she's gone." Vertical Entertainment has unveiled an official trailer for an indie crime thriller titled No Way Out, formerly known as Whisper, set in Los Angeles. This is debuting in August if anyone is interested in watching. Joey Bicicchi stars as a budding photographer who arrives to L.A. and falls hard for the quirky young woman Tessa, played by Australian singer / actress Maia Mitchell. So far this is the most cliche L.A. plot setup ever, and of course something bad is going to happen next. They are embroiled in a passionate relationship fueled by sex, drugs and risk that quickly reaches a boiling point when she asks him to do something dangerous. The cast also includes Ashley Nicole Williams, Guy Burnet, Katelyn Pippy, Ronnie Gene Blevins, Luke Brandon Field, & Andy Cohen. This looks especially cheesy and so excruciatingly unoriginal it's not even worth watching this trailer.

Marcus King says he was haunted by the Seventies rock band Free when he was writing his new song “Hard Working Man.” King ain’t lying. The high-octane track explodes with an FM radio chorus, a chunky guitar riff, and enough cowbell to satisfy Christopher Walken. Recorded earlier this year with producer Dan Auerbach for King’s upcoming album Young Blood, “Hard Working Man” sounds as if it arrived in the year 2022 by way of a bitchin’, time-traveling 1970 Camaro.
