Impractical Jokers: Eric André (2022)
Season 9, Episode 18
1/10
Super Boring
5 May 2022
I am a huge Impractical Jokers fan since day one. I think they have been getting better/funnier over the seasons through the 9th. When I first heard about Joe's departure, I knew the show would not be the same. Joe was the nucleus of the show, he is the wild card that will do just about anything and was truly the funniest. Any of the other members left, I think the show could work but not Joe. Either way, I watched the 1st episode of season 10 and wow, that was boring. First, Eric Andre is annoying and knew he would not be a good edition. Second, I was shocked that the guest star is only involved in the punishment. They are not part of any of the jokes, they do not take part in the skits. Hopefully the other episodes will be better with better guests but this first one was a big fat no.

Kevin Can F**k Himself (2021–2022)

Haters Please Read...
26 June 2021
I spent a couple of minutes going through some of the lower rated reviews and like others say, so many of you are missing the point especially the ones annoyed with the sitcom parts. It is supposed to be over the top to poke fun at the many sitcoms over the years that show a pretty/smart wife that has to deal with a slob/dumb husband. In more recent years, King of Queens and Kevin Can Wait hence the name of the show. It simply answers the question, how can this woman deal with this man?! This allows us to see a version that isn't so happy and one that shows the struggles she is going through. Is it really that hard to understand? Claddagh72, ThorMelsted, and webbew1, you are the slowest reviewers. Robstackley, we get it, you're super old.

Is it an amazing show? No it's not. Is it pretty decent though? Absolutely. I voted a 7 but would give it a 6.5 which is good. If you were a fan of King of Queens or shows like it, give it a shot.

That Was A Huge Disappointment
23 May 2021
Based on the actors, trailer, and Zack Snyder...I was really expecting this movie to he good. Zack Snyder was behind Dawn of the Dead back in 2004 which is one of my favorite zombie movies. I like Dave Bautista, Omari Hardwick, Theo Rossi, and Hiroyuki Sanada. Unfortunately, it was slow paced with way too many dialog scenes so I found myself bored AF half way through it. I think Zack Snyder has gotten used to putting out long movies even when it is not needed. They should have cut out 20 minutes of the talking scenes to speed things along. Ella Purnell that played the daughter was awful, worst actor in the movie. I like Tig Notaro but her scenes felt so fake and out of place since her scenes were shot after the movie was complete. You can't have the same vibe or flow as the rest of the cast if you were never involved in the original filming, so it is not her fault. I get replacing Chris D'elia but they should have left him in for the sake of the movie. I didn't like him even before the accusations, I just think the character would have flowed with the movie better. I can say visually, the movie looks great. Just the story was weak and too much dialog was added for zero reason. For you Snyder groupies, he has some good movies under his belt but some bad ones too...he is truly a mediocre director. He will never be Christopher Nolan, Stephen Spielberg, Martin Scorsese, or even Quentin Tarantino. Just deal with it.

Wow, That Was Boring
15 May 2021
I honestly wasn't expecting much but was hopeful it would show that Angelina Jolie still has it...it did not. She was one of the worst in the movie, Nicholas Hoult was meh even though he is a good actor, and was I most disappointed with Jon Bernthal's character. Not his fault but he plays a badass so well, it is hard to see him in a role that is the opposite. Finn Little hands down had the best acting in the movie followed by Medina Senghore. The movie itself was just boring, even the climax of the movie was nothing but a speed bump. It is one of those movies you ask yourself why did they even waste money making it.

Want to see a really good forest fire movie? Only The Brave with Josh Brolin...thank me later.

The Stand (2020–2021)
8/10
Much Better Than The 1994 Version
10 February 2021
I happen to come across The Stand on Amazon and was attracted to watching it due to the larger name stars in it especially Alexander Skarsgård and James Marsden. I read some bad reviews about it from people comparing it to the original adaptation in 1994. I watched the original mini-series when I was a kid and recently rewatched it prior to jumping into the new adaptation so I could compare it better. Hands down, the new adaptation is so much better. It has better actors beyond the two I listed previously, the graphics are obviously much better due to the time difference, and is overall much wilder than the original in a good way. Alexander Skarsgård absolutely killed it as Randall Flagg which is a recurring character in Stephen King's work, most recently played by Matthew McConaughey in The Dark Towers which was a weak movie even though it had great leading actors. The other complaint I kept reading was about telling the story out of order. The 1994 adaptation is told from the beginning to the end while the 2020 adaptation starts at the present day and the past is told through flashbacks of each character showing their journey. I prefer the latter much more as each episode is packed with content from both the present and past. The 1994 adaptation has a slower buildup resulting in some boring episodes as it gets to the meat of the story. You do not get that with the 2020 version, each episode is exciting and action-packed! Also, if you're a Walking Dead fan, this show will give you that season 1-2 feeling at moments which was when TWD was the best.

IMO, the 1994 adaptation was a little on the boring side and I remember not being that impressed by it back in 1994. I think the people that prefer the original have probably gotten past the age of being able to appreciate a show with wilder content. So if you're not a boomer, I highly recommend this show.

People Just Don't Like Dave Ayer Movies...
14 August 2020
It seems like David Ayer films get a lot of negative heat these days even though he has some solid movies in the past. End of Watch was an amazing movie, Street Kings was solid, Fury was good, and Bright was decent. It seems people have been hating on him since Suicide Squad.

I've been waiting for this movie come since I'm a huge fan of Shia and he does not disappoint. I wished they did more with his character because he was the movie. Bobby Soto (David) was also good but the rest of the cast is where the acting gets weaker even though I did enjoy Cinthya Carmona (Alexis). Jimmy Smits part was very small which sucks cause he is talented. George Lopez was completely horrible, he never needs to play a crime boss ever again. This movie is not as good or as gritty as Street Kings but it is a solid watch. I would give the movie itself a 6 with Shia bumping it up to a 7. If you are a fan of Shia, you need to watch the movie.

Bulletproof 2 (2020)

Skip The Stupid Reviews, Read This...
18 May 2020
I read through the reviews here and most of them are BS. Let me break the movie down for you.

This is a sequel to the movie Bulletproof with Damon Wayans and Adam Sandler back in the 1996. Even though it is a sequel, it is more focused on comedy than the original and is raunchier. Basically, a lot dick jokes to give you an idea. You should view this movie as a separate movie from the original, they are nowhere similar. If you are expecting a copy of the original, don't watch this...you won't like it. Personally, I think this one is funnier since I was never a fan of the original. Any Adam Sandler fan knows he is a hit or miss depending on the movie. The original Bulletproof was a miss IMO with Damon Wayans not adding much to it. I am a huge fan of the Wayans family but Damon was always low on the totem pole. So the reviews that keep saying watch the original instead are just stupid as the original was considered a dumb comedy with poor ratings...they are acting like it is a "classic" now since there is a sequel, it was not.

I gave the movie an overall 6 but closer to a 5.8. The movie itself I would rank as a 5 and the writing for the main characters a 6.5. They have so many funny lines between them with a few from the supporting cast. I was laughing a lot throughout the movie. I am a fan of Faizan Love since Friday back in the 90's and he doesn't disappoint. Kirk Fox was a real surprise since I didn't know who he was before this movie. If you want a dirty comedy with some action and don't mind dick jokes, check it out.

With all that being said, they do explain the reason for the recast nicely. They say that the original movie was based on them following a story about them in a magazine. They even make fun of Adam and Damon for playing them. Most low budget sequels with a different cast doesn't try to explain it, but this one does the best job possible.

I Had To Watch To Show Support But...
20 April 2020
This movie is not complete garbage but it is far from great.

I am a Terry Crews fan since 2001 unlike most of the people reviewing this movie that only know him from Brooklyn Nine-Nine. It is nice to see Terry outside of comedy which has been most of his recent career. I miss the old Terry from Gamer, Expendables, and Street Kings. It also has Gerald 'Slink' Johnson from Black Jesus...if you don't know, look it up. Ludacris has always been a hit or miss in movies, this movie being one of his worst acting jobs ever plus his character is super weak talking about his "empire". Joseph Julian Soria always does a good job (Crank, Purge, and Gentefied on Netflix) and Jamila Velazquez was also good in the movie.

The story itself is just rough, dragging on in some scenes while still feeling overall rushed as a movie. I see complaints about the music being too loud overpowering scenes and it does in some of them. However, I did overall enjoy the older west coast sound from DJ Quik.

Simply put, I didn't hate the movie just can't rave about it either. I think with better writers, a bigger budget, and a better actor to replace Luda it would be a much better movie.

I'm Trying To Show Support But...
13 March 2020
I'm a fan of Lil Dicky's music, been listening to him for a few years. So excited for him to get a show and wanted to show support. The show is not horrible but it is not great either. I'm a huge fan of raunchy comedy but the entire show is about his deformed dick...it is brought up multiple times every episode. So it gets old quickly and less funny everytime it is brought up. They really need to ramp up the comedy outside of jokes about his dick not to mention showcase his rap skill more. He could gain tons of exposure from the show to grow his music career but I feel like more people will just end up turning it off thinking he is a joke. I am trying to hang in there but the episodes are not getting any better.

BTW, I saw someone compare it to Workaholics which is absurd...Workaholics is way funnier with much better writing.

I Was Surprised It Was Good Considering Low Budget
29 August 2019
First thing first...I rated it a 10 to help bump up the score but I would give it a 6 which is pretty good. It is a low budget movie (not sure why anyone expected something visually spectacular) but Jason Mewes and team did a good job with what they had. The cast was made up of people you know, a decent story, and tons of tons of comedy. I have seen movies with bigger budgets, bigger stars, bigger directors that ended up being way worse. So if you're a fan of Clerks, Jay and Silent Bob, or Jason Mewes you won't be disappointed.

If You Found This Offensive, You Shouldn't Have Been Watching
28 August 2019
Dave Chapelle is back with his 3rd Netflix special. His first special on Netflix was okay, he wasn't quite there yet. His 2nd special was classic Chapelle and his 3rd is just as good. As the title states, if you found this special offensive, you went in there to get pissed...you knew better!

He hit on all the hot button topics from the LGBT community, the MeToo movement, the Jussie Smollett incident, the Kevin Hart Oscar drama, the Michael Jackson documentary, and of coarse White folks. Even though a lot of it is meant for laughs, there are plenty of thought-provoking moments. Moments that make you question some of the ridiculousness in the world these days or at least the way you look at them. That is what I love about Dave Chapelle, the truth that is mixed in with his comedy because he is not afraid to say it. Other comedians like Kevin Hart and Kat Williams are funny AF, but their routine is all jokes. You get the laughs but none of the hard-hitting facts. It is just more authentic when Dave does it.

You can agree or disagree with his opinions but you shouldn't be offended. Trust me, as a white male from Atlanta (Atlanta joke had me 💀), you should not take it personally. Sit back, relax, and enjoy.

On a side note, read The Uncomfortable Truths of 2019 review from Fiahm. He actually wrote, "Dave still reliably dropping some awkward truth bombs, especially on the witch-hunt of Louis CK, the LGBTQRS folks, offence archaeology, false accusations and the terribly oppressed French actor Jussie Smollet." Then he follows it with, "Some of the relentlessly anti-white-people stuff made me feel a little uncomfortable." You're clearly against all of those subjects based on how you described them but then say you're offended by the White jokes? Seriously, TF??

The Orville: A Happy Refrain (2019)
Season 2, Episode 6

The Orville Season 2 is Bad, This Episode The Worst
1 February 2019
When I completed season 1 I thought this is a real contender to hang with Star Trek and similar shows. Yes, it was funnier and little goofier which was great (I'm a fan of Seth McFarlane), but they had legit stories each episode along with a good amount of action. It was a very good balance which I enjoyed. Season 2 started out disappointing with nothing happening in episode 1 and barely anything in episode 2. Episode 3-5 seemed to get a little more on track and then episode 6 comes out. IMHO worst episode of the whole show. They used the entire 48 minutes to talk about a possible relationship between Claire and Isaac. Really?! Is this a Soap Opera or a Romcom? If this is what Seth McFarlane has for the future of The Orville, it needs to get cancelled.

Bad Reviews Are From Fans of the Original
26 August 2017
Tons of bad reviews for the movie because of the casting and the story that was adapted to be a modern American story. This happens on any Anime remake that is adapted to an American story. Luckily I am not into Anime (I'm an adult that doesn't live with their mom that doesn't spend all year wondering what I will wear at the next convention...j/k lol) and never saw the original. Judging it on it's own, it is not a bad movie at all. Not the best, but not bad...I give it a 6.5. If you watched the original Anime, do not watch this as you will not like it. If you have not watched the original Anime, then watch it since you you can rate it as a standalone movie.

Fake Fake Fake
18 March 2017
One episode in and I am out. I can't get past the fake fighting moves. The slow, rehearsed fighting of the guards than his flip over the car that is either CGI or on cables. I was hoping this was going to be good considering Luke Cage being overall a great show, but I can't get past the corniness.

Pretty Funny
17 April 2016
I liked the trailer and generally enjoy Melissa's movies along with my fiancé. Prior to going I read all the negative reviews and low score on IMDb so I went in expecting the worst, but was surprised it was funny.

Reading the negative reviews I kept seeing them talk about vulgar jokes in the movie which I can see as a problem, but the trailer had some of those same jokes. So what were these people expecting from the movie? The trailer sums it up perfectly. I honestly think most people are upset simply because of the vulgar language/jokes while there are children in the movie. Including some of those vulgar remarks are made by the children. So if you look at that as being bad, don't watch the movie. If you are a grown up that knows majority of children cuss away from their parents then you will probably enjoy it.

You can wait for it to come out, not a theater must, but worth seeing at some point.

Funniest Movie Ever!...If You Like the Actors
17 June 2013
This movie is extremely funny from the beginning to the end. It is very over the top and raunchy. It has some twists and cameos that will shock you. If you like Seth Rogen, Jonah Hill, Danny McBride, Craig Robinson and the others in their normal raunchy roles (Pineapple Express, Superbad, Eastbound & Down, Zack & Miri Make A Porno) then you will love this movie. The theater we were in was packed and the crowd was dying laughing the entire time. There is a reason why this movie has a 8.1 on IMDb...there is unheard of for most comedies.

For the bad reviewers, what were you expecting from a movie packed with these actors? Did you expect a mild comedy or something with a deep plot? I personally do not like most Sci-Fi movies, so why would I go to them and them post reviews on how it sucked? There is a 90% chance I will not like it so I do not go. Simply put, you should of stayed home.

Why Jonah?
18 December 2011
I think Jonah Hill is extremely funny and I have seen and liked majority of his movies.

However, this show is extremely horrible.

I have watched almost every episode to try to give it a chance, but I am officially out.

It is just horrible from every angle.

I am shocked that there are any positive reviews.

Sorry Jonah, I just can't take it anymore.

Cancel it!

Please!

1000 Ways to Die (2008–2012)
10/10
Great!
18 December 2011
The show is very unique, entertaining, and additive. It takes crazy deaths that possibly happened in real life and builds a story around it typically showing a bad person receiving what they deserve. It is not the absolute best show on TV, but myself along with a lot of people I know from different age ranges and backgrounds enjoy it. Only the type of death is based on true events, the story that is built around it is 100% made-up for entertainment value. Ron Pearlman (Sons of Anarchy, Hellboy, Beauty and the Beast) is a perfect narrator for the show.

My main reason for posting was to respond to some of the negative reviews...

1) Trashy and Tasteless, 14 October 2010, Author: Lloyd Bowman

The show is not meant to be tasteful, it is there for entertainment purposes. If the show was bland simply going over these odd deaths, then it most likely not be on the air due to a lack of audience. It has a targeted audience and does a great job reaching them. Lastly, the show is on SPIKE TV...if you are looking for something tasteful, then you are on the wrong channel.

2) Terrible exploitation of people, no lessons learned!, 9 March 2011 Author: Kristinartist79

The show allows viewers to see possible ways that they could die that they would never dream of. In that aspect, it does serve a purpose. One example was "Water-Logged". I have personally jumped off rocks into the water along with thousands, maybe millions of other people. Did any of us think that water might actually shoot up your rectum? Now, I would think about it twice prior to doing it again. Who knows, it might of saved my life or another viewers. Also, how does it not get into how to prevent it? Simple, DO NOT DO IT! Each episode shows you exactly how the death occurs along with experts explaining it to you. So how do you not see how to prevent it? Lastly, you state it is not for kids...WOW, really? It is a show about people being killed in strange ways...why would I show that to my kids? On top of that, it is on SPIKE TV, not PBS. The fact that you even brought that up along with Sesame Street and religion shows that you are a complete idiot and you should not be allowed to watch TV.

3) Unconventional, 13 November 2011, Author: Megan Ross

When you watch a movie, do you want to see good people being killed? When you read or watch the news, do you want to hear about an innocent grandmother being shot? Not at all. On the other hand, you do want to see the enemy or bad guy being killed in the movie along with the robber, rapist, murderer getting killed in real life instead of their victims. With that being said, for the show to gain an audience and have that audience enjoy what they are watching, they have to show situations where a bad guy or someone that deserves to die. This allows us to enjoy it. I wouldn't watch it if innocent people were being killed, nor would anyone else.
