A Must See for Dog Lovers and Lovers of Film
14 March 2023
Comedy, tragedy, Drama, this was a heartwarming film.

It's not very often I come across a film that makes me Laugh out Loud and shed a tear. This film should have won Oscars.

Powerful performances by everyone involved. Beautiful Cinematography and amazing work to all the crew of this film.

I found this while looking for something to watch on my streaming platform Vudu. Glad I gave it a watch. It's sad to see amazing films like this go under the radar. A must see for dog lovers or lovers of film.

It is films like this that make me love the film industry. As a dog owner who is single I believe the film did an amazing job capturing how important a dog can be.

The Power is Yours
4 May 2022
An amazing, animated cartoon for both children and grownups. The show teaches us to take better care of the earth. The Planeteers most work to stop those who wish to destroy the Earth and when they find themselves in danger can call upon Captain Planet to save the day. When I was younger watching the show, I always thought Captain Planet should be on the show more often because the Planeteers do most of the work. As I've got older, I realized it is good Captain Planet plays a smaller role than the Planeteers. It shows we can't wait around for a miracle to save the day. If we see someone trying to destroy the planet, we must take matters into our own hands. "The Power is Yours" each of us have the power to do what we can to make this a cleaner and better world to live in. Earth is the one thing we all have in common, and we all make a difference when we care for the Earth.

Teach Your Children Well
13 January 2022
First off if you don't like good music this is not a film for you. This is a film about a little thing called Rock and Roll. This film is great for children and grownups. When I first saw it, I was a kid and always wanted a substitute like Jack Black's character. Rock and Roll has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. My first memory was going to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame when I was three.

So, when this film came out it quickly became one of my top 10 favorite movies of all time and still is. I never realized that I would grow up and work with some Rock Legends at my parttime job as a stagehand. The film does a great job of showing that all parts of the music industry is important "Just because you're not in the band doesn't mean you're not in the band." When Jack Black's character first arrives at the school the children are deprived of Rock and Roll, and he must teach them. In a way he is like a superhero except his power is teaching. It's a power we can all have and if we have children of our own, we can teach them about music and then Rock and Roll will never die.

An original plot
8 June 2021
Every year around Christmas I watch hundreds and sometimes even thousands of Christmas movies when I found out a friend of mine from College was in this I had to see it for myself. Although it's not in my top 10 or even top 100 favorite Christmas movies, the film does have a more original plot. As for the film quality I'm not sure if they were going for a Hallmark feel but it seemed a bit like a soap opera. I've watch it now around Christmas for the past few years and it does seem better the more I watch it. There are parts that could have been cut but overall I think the film is worth a watch.

A fun adventure
8 June 2021
Not as good as the original but still worth a watch. Notice how the water level on the poster is lower than the water level on the poster for the first film that can give some idea to how good the film is. The film does contain some funny moments but at times tries to hard. The more times you watch it does seem better.

A show ahead of it's time
7 June 2021
Over the course of it's 10 seasons "Smallville" introduced many superheroes had the show been around during the Arrowverse years perhaps we could have seen some of these characters get shows of their own. One of my favorite television shows which paved the way for DC.

A kind of film the world needs more of
7 June 2021
Obviously the film is about a family and their adventures in the wilderness. When you take that concept, combine it with music and show the dangers, hardships, and also the joy from simple moments that must be faced in order to survive, you are left with a classic. The boom did appear in a few shots but hey that's a hard job even in today's time. This is a film worth watching time and time again.

A Relatable Romance
7 June 2021
I love Romantic comedies and "She's Out of My League" happens to be in my top 10 favorite films of all time. The reason for this is not just the silly moments that can make one laugh out loud but the relatable characters. The film deals with finding ones worth. Kirk (Jay Baruchel) is not the typical leading man. He often doubts himself which can lead to problems but he stays true to who he is. In my opinion one of the best lines in the film, and a may be paraphrasing, comes from Molly's friend. "No one in their right mind would tell you something like that if it wasn't true." Now you have to see the film for yourself to know the moment I'm referring to and although it may seem silly it is a heartfelt moment. Perhaps like Kirk we too can always be honest to our love ones no matter how bizarre the truth may seem.

A Deeper Romance
7 June 2021
Warning: Spoilers
When you have a conversation and talk about Ryan Gosling in a romantic movie you will usually here about "The Notebook." While "The Notebook" is a good movie, many people may never have heard of this film: " Lars and the Real Girl". This is a film you have to see for yourself. If you try explaining it you may end up saying "It's a film about a man that loves a doll" but it is so much more than that. There is a romance in this film. Gosling's character Lars has an innocence's to him that can draw viewers in. Everyone in the town, even though many think it strange, support Lars and Bianca's relationship in their own ways. The Fact he can bring the town together reminded me of the character George Bailey in "It's a Wonderful Life." In Lars's case his transformation hints at finding true love with Margo. You get glimpses that they may like each other early on but it takes loving Bianca for Lars to build the courage and confidence to speak to Margo. Although the film doesn't say Lars and Margo live happily ever after we as an audience can choose their fate. In my opinion with everything these characters experience during the film their relationship will last because their love is genuine.

Still Relevant Today
30 May 2021
Chaplin was a man ahead of his time. In my opinion his speech from this film is the greatest speech of all time. It's scary knowing what Charlie fought for and fought against is still going on today. It's reassuring knowing this speech exist. As Charlie says, "You, the People, have the power to make this life free and beautiful, to make this life a wonderful adventure." Now in our own time with this pandemic coming to an end and people recovering from fear from recent politicians perhaps we too can unite, not just as a country, but as a world and "do away with national barriers, to do away with greed, with hate and intolerance." as another wise man once said "With our love we could save the world." Thanks to Charlie we are given some wise words in his speech and We shall Overcome.
