My cast choices for the next Batman reboot

by SebastianShadow | created - 21 Jun 2014 | updated - 03 May 2015 | Public

So according to the latest rumors, there will be a new Batman movie(s) reboot after Man of Steel 2 and the Justice League movie. Ben Affleck Affleck will probably still star as Batman, but I am really curious about the other cast choices. Especially interesting is, if the movies will feature the famous villians like Joker, Penguin, Two-Face, Bane etc. or some less-known as Victor Zsasz, Killer Croc or Black Mask. Also there are so many possibilities regarding the theme of the movie(s). A movie about the Arkham Asylum would be epic IMO.

1. Ben Affleck

Producer | Argo

Benjamin Géza "Ben" Affleck-Boldt was born on August 15, 1972 in Berkeley, California and raised in Cambridge, Massachusetts, to mother Chris Anne (Boldt), a school teacher, and father Timothy Byers "Tim" Affleck, a social worker. Ben has a younger brother, actor Casey Affleck, who was born in 1975...

  • Bruce Wayne / Batman

Clearly as mentioned above, Affleck will be Batman again. If this is good or bad will really be known after Man of Steel 2.

2. Michael Emerson

Actor | Saw

Michael Emerson was born on September 7, 1954 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, USA. He is an actor, known for Saw (2004), Lost (2004) and Person of Interest (2011). He has been married to Carrie Preston since September 5, 1998.

  • The Joker

One of the best villains on TV in Lost, I could really imagine him as The Joker. A really underrated and great actor, he would add the needed darkness and mystery to the character.

3. Ron Perlman

Actor | Hand of God

Ron Perlman is a classically-trained actor who has appeared in countless stage plays, feature films and television productions.

Ronald N. Perlman was born April 13, 1950 in Washington Heights, Manhattan, New York. His mother, Dorothy (Rosen), is retired from the City Clerk's Office. His father, ...

  • Killer Croc

He has got the perfect look for this uncontrollable, wild character Killer Croc. Good actor and has experience in Motion Capturing acting due to his work as Hellboy.

4. Bob Sapp

Actor | The Longest Yard

Robert Malcolm "Bob" Sapp born September 22, 1973] is an American professional wrestler, actor, comedian and former American football player best known for his career as a kick boxer and mixed martial artist. He is under contract with Rizin Fighting Federation. Sapp has a combined fight record of ...

  • Bane

He looks like a freakin' beast - that is all you need for Bane. Tom Hardy did a good job as Bane in Dark Knight Rises, but he did not have the right physique (even though he bulked up for this movie) and is too talented to be "wasted" in a role like that. Sapp on the other hand is acting wise solid at best and would fit the role well.

5. Scarlett Johansson

Actress | Lost in Translation

Scarlett Ingrid Johansson was born on November 22, 1984 in Manhattan, New York City, New York. Her mother, Melanie Sloan is from a Jewish family from the Bronx and her father, Karsten Johansson is a Danish-born architect from Copenhagen. She has a sister, Vanessa Johansson, who is also an actress, ...

  • Poison Ivy

Due to her commitment with Marvel Cinematic Universe a real dream choice, but really the first actress who came in my mind for this character. Already did good as a "kick-ass femme fatale" in the latest Marvel movies and is an overall above average actress. Plus she looks hot - obviously.

6. Emilia Clarke

Actress | Game of Thrones

British actress Emilia Clarke was born in London and grew up in Oxfordshire, England. Her father was a theatre sound engineer and her mother is a businesswoman. Her father was working on a theatre production of "Show Boat" and her mother took her along to the performance. This is when, at the age ...

  • Poison Ivy alternate casting choice

More realistic choice for the role. One of THE young actresses at the moment and very versatile. Emilia Clarke looks like a total different person as Daenerys Targaryen. Also very dedicated and believable, she would most likely be an awesome Poison Ivy.

7. David Meunier

Actor | Justified

A dual citizen of Luxembourg and the United States, David Meunier was born in Portland, Oregon February 5th, 1973 into a long line of farmers, carpenters, clothiers, and inventors from Luxembourg, Germany, and Russia. Although he considered pursuing a graphic arts major in college, Meunier instead ...

  • Victor Zsasz

Fans of Justified presumably know him, otherwise pretty unknown actor. He would be a nice choice for Zsasz - psycho evil eyes and a real "bad guy" look make him a believable broken man.

8. Terry O'Quinn

Actor | Lost

Terrance Quinn (born July 15, 1952), known professionally as Terry O'Quinn, is an American actor. He played John Locke on the TV series Lost (2004), the title role in The Stepfather (1987) and Stepfather II: Make Room for Daddy (1989), and Peter Watts in Millennium (1996), which ran for three ...

  • Victor Zsasz alternate casting choice

Completely different than Meunier, but would fit as a complex and mysterious Zsasz. He already proofed in Lost, that he is a great character actor.

9. Armie Hammer

Actor | Call Me by Your Name

Armand Douglas Hammer was born in Los Angeles, California, to Dru Ann (Mobley) and Michael Armand Hammer, a businessman. His great-grandfather, Armand Hammer, was a prominent tycoon and philanthropist who ran the company Occidental Petroleum for many decades. Armie's ancestry includes ...

  • Harvey Dent / Two-Face

Obviously, due to his "nice guy" looks he is always a good choice as a hero. But casting him as good guy who eventually turns bad (maybe at the end of the first movie or in the second movie) would be a nice twist. A surprise factor could be added, if he is not presented as Harvey Dent, but under a new different name. He would be a villain, who the audience can emotionally identify with.

10. Jeff Goldblum

Actor | Jurassic Park

Jeffrey Lynn Goldblum was born October 22, 1952 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, one of four children of Shirley (Temeles), a radio broadcaster who also ran an appliances firm, and Harold L. Goldblum, a doctor. His father was of Russian Jewish descent and his mother was of Austrian Jewish ancestry.

...

  • Dr. Victor Fries / Mr. Freeze

After Mr. Freeze was potrayed as a damn joke in the worst Batman live action movie ever, Goldblum could be a much more serious and intelligent Mr. Freeze.

11. Neil Patrick Harris

Actor | How I Met Your Mother

Neil Patrick Harris was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, on June 15, 1973. His parents, Sheila Gail (Scott) and Ronald Gene Harris, were lawyers and ran a restaurant. He grew up in Ruidoso, New Mexico, a small town 120 miles south of Albuquerque, where he first took up acting in the fourth grade. ...

  • Edward Nygma / The Riddler

I have not seen him in a serious role yet, but he has the needed cockiness, smartness and comedic talent for the Riddler. If done right, his potrayal as the Riddler would make you forget the past casting choice Jim Carrey ...

12. Ben Kingsley

Actor | Sexy Beast

Ben Kingsley was born Krishna Bhanji on December 31, 1943 in Scarborough, Yorkshire, England. His father, Rahimtulla Harji Bhanji, was a Kenyan-born medical doctor, of Gujarati Indian descent, and his mother, Anna Lyna Mary (Goodman), was an English actress. Ben began to act in stage plays during ...

  • Doctor Hugo Strange

I first thought of Chris Walken as the most suitable actor for Dr. Strange. But after watching the episode of Batman TAS, that featured this character, I can think of no one but Ben Kingsley as Hugo Strange.

13. Jason Statham

Actor | Crank

Jason Statham was born in Shirebrook, Derbyshire, to Eileen (Yates), a dancer, and Barry Statham, a street merchant and lounge singer. He was a Diver on the British National Diving Team and finished twelfth in the World Championships in 1992. He has also been a fashion model, black market salesman ...

  • Ra’s al Ghul

Yes, pretty special choice and I understand, if not many other people agree with me on this one. But - once again - after watching Batman TAS, Statham came to my mind as Ra's al Ghul. Most notably because of his muscular and fit look - but also because of his acting. If you have watched Revolver for example, you know, that he is better actor than his repitive roles suggest.

14. Walton Goggins

Actor | Justified

Walton Goggins is an actor of considerable versatility and acclaim who has delivered provocative performances in a multitude of feature films and television series. He won a Critics' Choice Award for his performance in the HBO comedy series "Vice Principals" and landed an Emmy nomination for his ...

  • Roman Sionis / Black Mask

Really great and underrated actor. Would fit the role of Black Mask very good.

15. Deborah Ann Woll

Actress | True Blood

Deborah was born in 1985, in Brooklyn, New York, from Irish and German heritage. She took acting, piano and dance classes. She went to high school at Packer Collegiate Institute and graduated from the BFA program at the USC School of Theatre at the University of Southern California.

Deborah started ...

Dr. Harleen Quinzel / Harley Quinn

16. Jeremy Irons

Actor | Dead Ringers

British actor Jeremy Irons was born in Cowes, Isle of Wight, a small island off the south coast of England. He is the son of Barbara Anne Brereton (Sharpe) and Paul Dugan Irons, an accountant. Young Jeremy didn't prove very fond of figures. He visited mainland England only once a year. He wound up ...

  • Alfred Pennyworth

Already casted for Man of Steel 2, so he should be kept for the Batman reboot.

17. Willem Dafoe

Actor | Spider-Man

Having made over one hundred films in his legendary career, Willem Dafoe is internationally respected for bringing versatility, boldness, and daring to some of the most iconic films of our time. His artistic curiosity in exploring the human condition leads him to projects all over the world, large ...

  • James "Jim" Gordon

I LOVED his performance in Boondock Saints, therefore I want to see him as a guardian of the law again. Would really give the character of the commisioner something new and refreshing.

18. Morgan Freeman

Actor | Driving Miss Daisy

With an authoritative voice and calm demeanor, this ever popular American actor has grown into one of the most respected figures in modern US cinema. Morgan was born on June 1, 1937 in Memphis, Tennessee, to Mayme Edna (Revere), a teacher, and Morgan Porterfield Freeman, a barber. The young Freeman...

  • Lucius Fox

No comment needed.

19. Kit Harington

Actor | Game of Thrones

Kit Harington was born Christopher Catesby Harington in Acton, London, to Deborah Jane (Catesby), a former playwright, and David Richard Harington, a businessman. His mother named him after 16th-century British playwright and poet Christopher Marlowe, whose first name was shortened to Kit, a name ...

  • Dick Grayson / Robin / Night Wing

The Evolution of Robin to Night Wing is an interesting story, that has not been told yet in a live action movie and I think Kit Harrington would really fit this character.

20. Natasha Lyonne

Actress | Orange Is the New Black

Natasha Lyonne is an Emmy- and Golden Globe-nominated producer, actor, writer, and director.

Lyonne co-created Netflix series Russian Doll (2019), which received three Emmy awards, a total of 13 Emmy nominations including Comedy Series and Lead Actress for Lyonne, a Gotham Award nomination, and a ...

  • Barbara Gordon / Oracle

21. Alice Eve

Actress | Before We Go

Alice Sophia Eve was born in London, England. Her father is Trevor Eve and her mother is Sharon Maughan, both fellow actors. She is the eldest of three children. Eve has English, Irish and Welsh ancestry. Her family moved to Los Angeles, California when she was young as her father tried to crack ...
