The BBC reports that the 31-track double album shifted 270,000 UK chart units in seven days, beating Swift’s previous best of 204,000 for her 2022 album Midnights.

Mark Ronson, the DJ and record producer, revealed that his nominated song ‘I’m Just Ken’ for Best Original Song at the Oscars almost didn’t make it to the final version of the film’s soundtrack. Ronson disclosed to The Times of London that when he and co-writer Andrew Wyatt initially created ‘I’m Just Ken’, studio executives were hesitant about its inclusion in the movie. He recounted how at the first screening, the song didn’t resonate as intended, leading to panic.
However, director Greta Gerwig fought for its inclusion, expressing her unwavering belief in its importance to the film. Ronson emphasized Gerwig’s determination, stating that she asserted she needed the song “with every inch of my body,” ultimately leading to its inclusion after a significant effort.
Describing the influences behind the track, Ronson noted its inspiration from the 1970s era, akin to the style of Elton John and Bernie Taupin.

Paramount is polishing its crystal ball today and looking ahead at some of the films from the studio in the next few years. At least, that’s how it feels when Paramount earnings day comes along. The studio announced a 0.6% increase in stock today, with various release date announcements to whet investor’s whistles. Among the titles mentioned during today’s report, Paramount put dates on projects like Liam Neeson’s Naked Gun reboot, a sequel to 2023’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, and more.
The Naked Gun reboot pratfalls into theaters on July 18, 2025, with Liam Neeson starring in the comedic role made famous by the late Leslie Neilsen. Akiva Schaffer directs, and executive produces the Naked Gun reboot, with Dan Gregor and Doug Man writing the script draft alongside Schaffer. One of the reasons this is exciting is that the trio partnered for the way-better-than-anticipated Chip n’ Dale: Rescue Rangers film.

Exclusive: Buoyed by the overperformance of music-driven films Bob Marley: One Love and Mean Girls, Paramount Pictures has slotted Better Man for an exclusive qualifying release on December 25, followed by a wide theatrical release on January 17 in the heat of awards season. The film is an original musical by The Greatest Showman director Michael Gracey, based on the life and music of singer Robbie Williams.
Paramount earlier this month made a $25 million commitment for North American rights to the film, one of the largest indie film rights deals in years. The studio believes it has a winner — it leaned into Bob Marley and the film has so far grossed north of $123M worldwide on a $70 million budget. The challenge on Better Man will come in the marketing: North America is about the only place on the planet where Williams is not a megastar singer, even though he spends most of his time in the U.

Paramount received the best Valentine’s Day gift any studio could hope for when Bob Marley: One Love, the biopic about the legendary Jamaican musician, set a new midweek record for the holiday when jamming to $14 million and besting the $11.5 million grossed by The Vow in 2012.
But Valentine’s Day turned out to be only a warm-up act as the film transformed into an all-audience box office sensation in another win for the music biopic boom sweeping Hollywood. Iconic music artists — of which there is no shortage — are providing studios with much-needed IP as tried and true genres, namely superhero movies, lose their singing powers. Exclusive: Paramount Pictures has stepped up for a $25 million commitment for North American theatrical rights to Better Man, a fantastical original musical directed by Michael Gracey, helmer of the blockbuster musical The Greatest Showman. The film is about the unlikely rise of celebrated singer-songwriter Robbie Williams.
The deal marks the year’s biggest North American deal for an independent film in years, and Paramount is going to give it a full theatrical release, eyeing later this year. Studio is coming off the success of Mean Girls, which led the box office last month and grossed $92 million worldwide so far. It also is aggressively rolling out globally Bob Marley: One Love, a film that bows February 14, as Paramount leans into films in the musical space.
Rolling out Better Man late in the year gives the studio plenty of time to address a challenge in the U.S. and Canada for the conundrum that is Robbie Williams.

Welcome to another look back at the biggest hits of 2023. Today, we’ll look through the documentaries and docu-series that picked up the most points in the Netflix top 10s throughout the year.
This list is compiled with data from FlixPatrol, which tracks the daily top 10s in over 90 countries globally. Their data provides a daily snapshot of what’s trending in the TV and movie list by providing points to each title that features. Although we love their data, it’s neither perfect nor an exact measurement of viewership. Netflix does provide its own data on this front, but it doesn’t allow us to paint a big picture of what was watched most in 2023 as it stands.
Because documentaries feature in the movie lists and docu-series feature in the TV list, we’ll split them separately. We’ll have a look at the documentaries and docu-series to do best globally first,...

Singer Robbie Williams has only just started to “respect” himself as a performer.
The 49-year-old pop star found fame as a member of Take That in the early 1990s before breaking out as a solo artist with hits like ‘Rock DJ’ and ‘Angels’ but said that up until this point in time, he always just thought he had been “lucky” with his career.
“I’m just beginning to become fully formed as an entertainer. Whatever I was getting away with appealed to a great number of people because they bought tickets, came back and saw it again. It’s all been bluff all my life,”he said.
“This year is the first year as a 49-year-old where I respect myself now. Before, I just thought I was taking the p*** and being lucky,” He said as quoted by The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column.

The International Documentary Association (IDA), Cinema Eye Honors and Gotham Awards have delivered their verdicts on the top feature docs of the year. And, for the streamers, it’s a grim result.
Absent from the Gothams’ doc feature selections, the Cinema Eye’s top feature and director noms and the IDA’s 17-title shortlist are titles from Netflix, Prime Video and Apple TV+.
The lists read, in the words of one leading awards publicist, “like a giant fuck-you to Netflix.” And with Oscar campaigning in high gear, they pose the question: Is a streamer backlash brewing?
The Gotham noms are mostly non-u.S. productions, including Kino Lorber’s Four Daughters, PBS’ 20 Days in Mariupol and Cinema Guild’s Our Body. Likewise, the IDA’s shortlisted titles included Morocco’s The Mother of All Lies, Colombia’s Anhell69, South African artist portrait Milisuthando, the CBC-backed Twice Colonized and the BBC-backed,...

Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour Brings $1 Billion Revenue Is Greater Than Beyonce’s Renaissance and Bruce Springsteen’s World Tours Combined ( Photo Credit – IMDb )
Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour has created history, generating a revenue of more than $1 billion. It is now officially the highest-grossing musical tour ever, beating Sir Elton John’s five-year Farewell tour – Farewell Yellow Brick Road. The musical genius generated a revenue of $939+ million with his tour.
Interestingly, while Sir Elton John has accumulated this number over 330 shows from 2018 – 2023, Tay has achieved the unthinkable with just 60 shows in 2023. However, the tour will continue till December 2024.
The Eras Tour is Taylor Swift‘s sixth concert tour, which is a tribute to her musical eras. It has songs from her albums and runs for 3.5 hours, where 44 songs are divided into 10 acts to showcase Tay’s musical journey. The tour started in March 2023 and will end in December 2024 in Vancouver.

The Robbie Williams fan, who suffered a horrifying fall at his gig last week, has died. She attended the ‘Take That’ musician’s first night of his Australian Xxv tour at the Allianz Stadium in Sydney last Thursday when she fell down six rows of seats before being rushed to a nearby hospital.
The woman, who was in her 70s, was placed into an induced coma. The horrifying accident happened after the show ended while thousands of concertgoers were filing out of the stadium, reports ‘Mirror.co.uk’.
On Tuesday, medical authorities from the hospital confirmed she had died. ‘Rule the World’ singer Robbie, 49, is yet to comment on the heartbreaking incident.
“Rather than use stairs, the woman attempted to step over seating rows. She lost her footing and fell,” said a stadium spokesman according to the Sydney Morning Herald’s report. “This is a terribly sad incident, and our...

All The Light We Cannot See notched another week atop Netflix’s English-language TV charts, with viewership for the limited series continuing to climb.
The World War II story based on Anthony Doerr’s novel managed 10.1M views from November 6 to 12, up from the 9.8M it racked up in the week it debuted. This is quite a showing for All The Light, and it’s by far the most viewing for any series this week.
But, as of now it still has a long way to go before it could reach the streamer’s most popular list. Queen Charlotte is currently at No. 10 on that list with just over 80M views in its first 91 days.
Selling Sunset Season 7 soared up the list to second place (from No. 8 last week). The latest installment of the reality series nearly doubled its weekly audience with 4.7M views.

Here we have a documentary, about four hours long and centered on one man, where we don’t see anyone other than the man himself as the narrator. The Robbie Williams docuseries on Netflix, titled after the very man, makes the creative choice of dissecting the man rather than telling the story in a straightforward manner. It is a unique approach, for sure, but does it really work? Let’s find out.
Lying on his bed in his sprawling LA mansion, Robbie Williams takes us down memory lane through thirty years of documented footage. The tool is a basic-looking laptop. He plays and pauses the video while candidly talking about all the highs and lows of his life. Williams describes himself as a loner who is always in bed when he is not performing on stage.

The past 18 months have produced an abundance of celebrity documentaries, but Netflix’s newly released “Robbie Williams” sets out to do something different. Charting Williams’ rise from clueless teenager in British mega-boy band Take That to solo superstar, there’s no talking heads and no glossing over the less salubrious moments in Williams’ 35-year-career, including his relationships, drug-taking and depression.
Director Joe Pearlman, the filmmaker behind last year’s “Harry Potter” reunion and Netflix’s recent Lewis Capaldi documentary, set out to make a series about Williams confronting his extraordinary life head-on. Eschewing traditional documentary formats, the four-part show sees Williams interviewed, mostly in bed, while watching archive footage stretching back three decades.
“We did an initial interview and Rob gave a brilliant interview but it was an interview I’d heard before,” Pearlman says. “We were like, there’s so much more here. We’ve seen the footage, we...

Robbie Williams and his now-wife Ayda Field didn’t feel they had anything “in common” with each other when they first met at a party, but that quickly changed once they started having a “laugh” and she started “really liking” the singer “a lot” when he started opening about his struggles.
In his self-titled tell-all four-parter for Netflix, Williams recalled: “She came over to my house after being at a party. I just saw off my dealer that I was sleeping with at the time.”
Field, 44, remembered: “The house is completely f***ing dark. No candles. I’m like this is f***ing weird. So we’re sitting there, we have nothing in common.”
He continued: “I was like, ‘Oh this is not working out. I better take her back to the party where she has come from’.”
Field said: “Unbeknownst to me, Rob was actually going to ditch me at this party!

The latest feature from David Fincher, a big-budget drama series from Steven Knight and Shawn Levy, and an Oscar hopeful starring Annette Bening and Jodie Foster are among the standout new additions hitting Netflix in November.
With The Killer, Fincher reteams with Seven writer Andrew Kevin Walker to adapt the graphic novel written by Alexis Nolent. The film, which premiered at the Venice Film Festival this year and debuts on Netflix on Nov. 10, stars Michael Fassbender as a shadowy unnamed assassin and features a cast that includes Arliss Howard, Charles Parnell, Gabriel Polanco, Kerry O’Malley, Emiliano Pernía, Sala Baker, Sophie Charlotte and Tilda Swinton.
The Hollywood Reporter‘s review of The Killer described the film as “a satisfyingly retro, location-hopping genre exercise with fisticuffs, gadgets (albeit ones bought from Amazon) and smooth-talking antagonists that all plays like a tongue-in-cheek spoof of James Bond movies.”

According to Robbie Williams, the very act of participating in a girl or boy band for any length of time will cause its members mental health problems.
The former member of UK hit-makers Take That turned solo superstar will release his four-part documentary series on Netflix in a fortnight, examining his rollercoaster ride of fame and outstanding commercial success, punctuated by bouts of depression and other illnesses.
