The Story: A goofball gym teacher (Mark Harmon) is forced to teach a remedial English class over the summer.
The Players: Starring: Mark Harmon, Kirstie Alley, Dean Cameron, Courtney Thorne-Smith & Shawnee Smith. Music by Danny Elfman. Directed by Carl Reiner.
The History: Hollywood spent a couple of years trying to make Mark Harmon happen as a movie star. Fresh off an arc on “St. Elsewhere” which infamously had his character contract AIDS from a one-night stand, his career was red hot. For a while, he was seriously considered to replace Don Johnson on “Miami Vice” after contract negotiations fell through, and in 1987-88, we got a bunch of starring vehicles that would try him out in a variety of genres to see if one would stick. He did action in The Presidio (even doing his own stunts – although the film was stolen by co-star Sean Connery), drama in Stealing Home,...

Corey Taylor has released a new music video for “Samantha’s Gone,” a track off his debut solo album, Cmft.
The clip’s meta concept finds actor Dean Cameron arriving on set to direct a music video for some rock band, only to be completely put off by their corny glam antics. After Cameron furiously calls cut, the band storms off, but that prompts Taylor — who’d previously been serving as the cameraman — to link up with other members of the disgruntled crew to take the stage and wow Cameron with their own performance.

"Anyone can fall for scams..." Vertical Entertainment has debuted the official trailer for an indie drama titled Nigerian Prince, which first premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival earlier this year. Made by a New York-based Nigerian-American filmmaker, the film tells the story of a Nigerian-American teenager who is sent back to Nigeria indefinitely by his mother. There he joins forces with a dangerous internet scammer in order to figure out how to return to the United States. Antonio J Bell stars as Eze, along with Chinaza Uche, Tina Mba, Bimbo Manuel, Ebbe Bassey, Rita Edward, Craig Stott, Dean Cameron, Omar Maskati, and Russell G. Jones. This looks like it gets extra violent and way more intensely thrilling than it seems at the start. I'm definitely curious about this, looks like a well-made indie film. Take a look below. Here's the first official trailer for Faraday Okoro's Nigerian Prince, direct...

Cults and their leaders have always equally repulsed, fascinated, and terrified me. The repulsion and terror are obvious markers for any sane person, but some would rather not have it in their lives at all, thank you very much. This is also a lucid and healthy response. But in horror we look for the cathartic in the carnal; and while Bad Dreams (1988) spends a great deal of effort mining a very similar vein as A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors (1987), it succeeds in carving out its own modest slice in the late ‘80s landscape.
Released stateside in April by Twentieth Century Fox, Bad Dreams made back its $4 million dollar budget opening weekend, but petered out after it pulled in just over $9 million total. A profit, yes, but not the big numbers they were hoping for based on what they thought was a foolproof Elm Street format. Oh, and...

If you don’t remember Dean Cameron then it’s likely you didn’t watch a lot of movies from the 1980’s to early 90’s. He’s had a very full career since then, but his greatest stuff in the eyes of his fans came when he was playing roles that were so out of control and campy that they were really only considered cool in their own time period. A few roles however have withstood the test of time and gone on to be remembered. As of now he’s still an actor and a writer, so he’s kept busy thankfully. In his youth

[Hello, readers! With Valentine's Day just around the corner, we here at Daily Dead thought it would be fun to do things a little different this year. Knowing the horror genre inside and out can help you determine if your next-door neighbor is really a vampire (or if your mom has a date with a bloodsucker), and it can also help you stay one step ahead of a slasher with a phone fetish. But for two teenagers who absolutely adore The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, love of the genre helps them get through something more terrifying than any undead creature with a crimson diet or weapon-wielding maniac in Woodsboro. The monster they face is all too real: summer school.
From the moment we meet Dave Frazier (Gary Riley) and Francis “Chainsaw” Gremp (Dean Cameron) in Carl Reiner's 1987 comedy, Summer School, we know they are the real deal when it comes to horror. The insides of their school lockers are plastered with photos of Freddy Krueger, Leatherface, and the “machete zombie” from Dawn of the Dead. Prosthetic...

Is it a coincidence that March 19′s penultimate episode of USA’s Psych — the last one star James Roday will ever direct — features his co-star Dulé Hill (Gus) running and screaming for most it? “No it is not,” Roday says. “It’s been one of the great joys of my experience on Psych, and I know our fans are equally as fond of watching Gus being in peril and trying to scream his way out of it.”
In the episode, “A Nightmare on State Street,” Gus visits a dream therapist (guest star Bruce Campbell) to help determine the true fear behind his terrifying nightmares.

What an amazing week for TV fans. As if you didn’t have enough stacking to do with the new, brilliant season of “House of Cards” on Netflix, there are four other full seasons in this week’s What to Watch that you really should watch front to back. And then there’s the still-amazing “Darkman,” a cult classic that perfectly captures Sam Raimi’s skill at controlled chaos. Finally, we have two ’80s horror flicks in one set in “Bad Dreams” and “Visiting Hours.” Check ‘em all out (Ok, you can skip the genre stinkers).

After Psych went to its fans to choose what the plot of the Season 8 finale should be, the online poll led to the choice of the James Roday penned “A Nightmare on State Street,” an episode described as “a new vision in terror.” Just how scary it is remains to be seen, but it won’t be without a little romance. Bunheads alum Sutton Foster was cast in the finale, joining an already sizable group of guest stars. The only thing we don’t really know about her character is whether or not she’s even real or just a part of Gus’ subconscious.
The finale will see a sleep-deprived Gus going for dream therapy in order to get to the bottom of the night terrors he’s been having. But things don’t go as planned and Gus soon finds that nothing is as it seems after he leaves his session.

A couple of years ago it was announced that Warner Bros. would be making a live-action feature film based on the Looney Tunes Acme Warehouse where Wile E. Coyote got all of the crazy contraptions he used to try and catch his nemesis, Road Runner.
In a recent interview with Collider, producer Dan Lin gave a few little details on what they will be doing with the film, and revealed some info on the lead character.
We're not going to use Looney Tunes in the Acme movie, it's a live action movie. What were so excited about is the lead character is a Steve Jobs meets Dean Cameron kind of character and because it's Acme you can create some incredibly funny, wacky inventions that you can't do on any other movie. So naturally it's just a super imaginative movie.
He also explained that they are heavily inspired by Wile E.

Adam Sandler's Happy Madison Productions is getting back into the remake game as they have reportedly landed a deal to produce Paramount's long-gestating remake of the '80s comedy classic Summer School. The project has been in development since 2005, believe it or not, with Transformers and Star Trek screenwriters Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci most recently taking a shot at a script. The last remake that Happy Madison set up was the prison football comedy The Longest Yard, which Sandler himself starred in. He is not expected to star in this movie, although he will be on board as a producer. According to THR, this was originally the brainchild of producer Jordan Kerner (The Mighty Ducks, The Smurfs), who wanted to change the teacher to be a real hard ass who ends up "squaring off against one mischievous student." That definitely doesn't seem to be keeping in spirit wiith the original,...

In honor of snow falling in NY for the first time this year, the cult movie of the week is Ski Patrol, from 1990.
Roger Rose (better known now for voice over work) plays Jerry, the senior member of The Snowy Peaks ski patrol. He lives to ski and is in love with fellow instructor Ellen (Yvette Nipar – who is hot but has only really done guest stars on tv). They are joined by T.K. Carter as Iceman – fans of The Thing will recognize him as Nauls. Also on the team are a demolitions expert (George Lopez!), a misfit who can’t make the patrol team and a foreign exchange patroller… It all adds up to mayhem on the slopes. The plot is pretty standard fare amped up with typical late 80′s/early 90′s comedy flare – the troop is trying to save the lodge from greedy land developer Sam Maris… played by Martin Mull.

If you have Netflix and are a horror fan in need of something to watch this Labor Day weekend, one look at this gargantuan list I compiled of the new terror titles Netflix has added for instant streaming in just the first three days of this month should keep you busy until Labor Day next year. You'll find something for everyone, from older titles to recent releases, famous to obscure, classic to not-so-classic, monsters to maniacs - you name it.
For the record, I considered compiling this list in alphabetical order or by year of the film's release, but then I realized I had already spent well over an hour just sorting through the massive catalogue of titles Netflix has now made available for instant streaming and realized Labor Day would be over by the time I finished arranging this list in any kind of order. Ready? Here you go.

Before you ditch that crummy summer job and toss your cheesy pirate uniform and fish sticks out the window, borrow some $10s from the register and treat yourself to something nice. Like, say, this new tee from NYC's Acapulco Gold, which salutes talented actress Phoebe Cates and the wet-hottest moment in '80s teen cinema. Printed on 100% cotton and made in the USA, part of us---guess the part---wishes the print ran a second longer. The shirt is available directly from Ag or at Turntable Lab in classic black, white, or red, men's sizes medium to X-large. For the purpose of this article, /Film received the red one. Here's a review: Looks great in a bathroom mirror. Too great. Pics of each color after the jump. And I've attached the little seen intro to Fast Times, the failed Fast Times at Ridgemont High TV series starring Patrick Dempsey and Ski School...

Got eight minutes to spare? Of course you do! You're obviously surfing the Net, or you wouldn't have been here to answer my question. (Uncle Creepy - Breaking the fourth wall since 1972.) Anyway, if you do have some time on your hands, why not bloody them while watching a new badass short film called The Growth?
The flick stars Dean Cameron (Summer School), Michael Cornacchia, and Penn Jillette (of Penn & Teller) and is directed by Ezekiel Zabrowski and Frank Ippolito.
"The story follows a man named Bill (Cameron), who wants to be a good father but finds the task a lot more demanding after he is bitten by his date. Now confined to his room with a strange growth on his shoulder, he must find a way to survive. As he grows closer to the point of death with each minute, Bill's family and friends only intensify the gruesome nightmare he is living.
