Following the highly positive reaction to the first season of Adult Swim's My Adventures With Superman animated series, the network has announced that season 2 is set to premiere on Saturday, May 25.
The show returns to Toonami with two back-to-back episodes at midnight Et/Pt, followed by one new instalment every Saturday. New episodes will also stream Sundays on Max.
Warner Bros. Animation has also debuted the first trailer, which finds the Man of Steel, Lois Lane and Jimmy Olsen continuing their adventures in Metropolis, as the trio is forced to contend with the emerging threat of Lex Luthor and several other supervillains.

This is Day 78 of the SAG-AFTRA strike.
It was everything everywhere all at once Thursday in New York City: Striking actors getting ready for contract talks were joined by writers who have just wrapped up theirs at a rally in Manhattan that also highlighted Asian American Pacific Islander culture in film and television.
On the eve of the Mid-Autumn Festival celebrated by Asian communities worldwide, about 200 people gathered outside the Manhattan offices of Warner Bros. Discovery for pickets and speeches that marked the official end of one strike against the major studios and the continuation of another whose end might be in sight.
Speakers including Joel de la Fuente of Hemlock Grove, Perry Yung of The Knick, Celia Au of Wu Assassins and Ivory Aquino of When We Rise hailed the growing visibility of Asian-Americans onscreen and said that their strike demands — including sustainable wages and limits on the use...

Long-time Superman fans may find the first minutes of My Adventures With Superman a bit off-putting. The soft, watercolor backgrounds, the sharp angles on the character designs, and the stuttered animation reveal the series’ debt to anime. As a young Clark Kent tries in vain to free his kite from a tree in his front yard, viewers will notice more similarities to My Hero Academia or Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba than to the Fleischer Bros. cartoons of the 1940s.
Suddenly, Clark notices a car spinning out of control, its driver distracted by the fussy child in the back seat. Without a second thought, Clark rushes to the car, stopping the vehicle before it slams into a tree. Clark stares at his hands in confusion, wondering how he suddenly gained such speed and strength. But we viewers know the answer: this is Superman, the Man of Steel we know and love.

The Netflix original series Hemlock Grove was a collaboration between the streaming service and producer/distributor Gaumont, and did not belong to Netflix in perpetuity – as evident from the fact that it was removed from the service last month. But if you were hoping to watch Hemlock Grove soon, we have good news for you: the independent free streaming network FilmRise had struck a deal with Gaumont to bring all three seasons (33 episodes) of the show to their service. Also part of the FilmRise and Gaumont deal is all three seasons (39 episodes) of the Thomas Harris-inspired series Hannibal!
Based on a novel by Brian McGreevy and executive produced by Eli Roth, Hemlock Grove follows the strange happenings in a fictional town in Pennsylvania. Roman Godfrey, heir to the town’s wealthy Godfrey family, befriends the town’s newcomer, Peter Rumancek. Recent brutal murders in the town have stirred up rumors,...

Hemlock Grove is coming back to streaming.
The Eli Roth-exec produced horror drama series was removed last month from Netflix but now, thanks to a deal between producer/distributor Gaumont and FilmRise, the show will return to air.
The deal will see Hemlock Grove, as well as Gaumont’s Hannibal, air across FilmRise branded Ott channels. The company struck a non-exclusive deal to license the AVOD and Fast rights of both shows.
Hemlock Grove ran for three seasons on Netflix and was one of the streamer’s first original drama series.

In “The Same Storm,” it’s a welcome surprise to see Elaine May appear as one of the faces in writer-director Peter Hedges’ impressively diverse and starry ensemble, who take turns contributing scenes about the challenges of life during lockdown. May portrays spiky Ruth Lipsman Berg, who hops on a teleconference with a new doctor and her home health aide. Daphne Rubin-Vega is Lupe, her concerned caregiver. Raza Jaffrey is the gentle but quite-clear physician trying to ascertain if Ruth has contracted the coronavirus.
Ruth was in the scene right before this one — talking with her daughter, a webcam girl — so we’re aware she’s gotten dolled up for the doctor’s call. Like a good Jewish mother, she asked the doc if he’s single. If so, she has a daughter. Forget that in the prior scene, her call to said daughter (Mary-Louise Parker) was less than kind.

If horror’s limitless capacity for remakes, re-imaginings, and spinoffs teaches us anything, it’s that our nightmares never really change. Since before “Nosferatu” darkened the silent film scene in 1922 — heck, even before Bram Stoker terrified readers with “Dracula” in 1897 — vampires have transfixed audiences with their chilling blend of romance and menace. Movies like “Twilight” and “Interview with the Vampire” are memorable for weaving epic undead dramas for the big screen, but vampire sagas have arguably seen more creative permutations on TV, with whole casts of blood-sucking stars appearing in shows like “True Blood” and “Castlevania”
The best vampire TV shows examine the archetypal underpinnings of the gothic-infused subgenre by referencing them in unexpected ways. Classic situational comedies like “Dark Shadows” make entertaining light of garlic, coffins, and the (pun intended) stakes of it all. Writer/director Brooke Berman has added Alysia Reiner (Captain Marvel), Joel De La Fuente (The Man in the High Castle) and April Matthis (New Amsterdam) to the cast of the new Yvonne Woods starring comedy Ramona at Midlife.
The dark comedy follows a single mother and former literary “It Girl” who discovers that her unflattering current reality is the subject of a hot filmmaker’s newest project. UK Screen Industries Survey Highlights Socio-Economic Imbalance
A new survey has found that the majority of people working in the UK’s screen industries are from a background that is classified as ‘privileged’. The survey, conducted by the Creative Industries Policy & Evidence Centre and backed by ScreenSkills, analyzed data from the latest edition of the Office for National Statistics’ Labour Force Survey in 2019. Their research found that 53% of those surveyed from the screen industries, including the film, TV and games businesses, were from a privileged background. Looking specifically at the careers of key creative roles, specified here as arts officers, producers and directors, the number rose to 61%. That was in comparison with 38% across all industries. The definition of having a privileged background is those who had at least one parent whose job was a higher or lower managerial, administrative or professional occupation. In contrast, the screen industries employed only 25% from a ‘working class’ background,...

The show that imagines what would have happened if the Axis countries had won World War II will reveal the fate of rebel figure Juliana Crain (Alexa Davalos), who appeared to be shot by Reichsmarshall John Smith (Rufus Sewell) at the end of season 3. The fact that you can hear The Man in the High Castle‘s young Nazis chanting the exact same phrases as real-life, present-day racist hordes do is as chilling as it is coincidental, the show’s cast and executive producers say.
“We did the ‘blood and soil’ before Charlottesville,” Ep Isa Dick Hackett said, referring to the 2017 Unite the Right rally in Charlottesville, Va. During the violent event, white supremacists chanted Nazi slogans including the one that Hackett mentions, which Hitler youth cry during the Amazon drama’s Season 3 finale.

Hey, "The Blacklist" fans. We hope you guys enjoyed tonight's episode 19. Now that's it has officially aired and in the history books, it's time to take a look at what's about to go down in the next, new episode. That episode will, of course, be episode 20, which is set to air next Friday night, May 3, 2019. The lovely folks over at NBC, once again, graced us with a press release for episode 20. It features a couple of informative teaser descriptions. So, that's what we'll be taking a look at for this spoiler session. To get things started NBC' press release revealed that episode 20 is entitled, "Guillermo Rizal." That's obviously another title that features someone's name. So, we should probably expect to see whoever that is, show up in this episode. Episode 20 sounds like it will feature some very intense, action-filled and very interesting scenes as Liz has a major change to consider!

Our future belongs to those who change it. At least, that’s the core message underpinning the new trailer for The Man in the High Castle season 2, which is earmarked for a premiere on December 16.
Continuing to explore an alternate reality in which the Allies lost World War II, this latest teaser retraces the battle lines that have divided the United States between the Japanese Pacific States west of the Rockies and the Nazi puppet state. Based on Philip K. Dick’s 1962 alternate history novel, The Man in the High Castle season 2 experienced some creative turbulence during development. Six months ago, the departure of showrunner Frank Spotnitz forced production on a temporary hiatus,...

Amazon’s Emmy Award-winning drama “The Man in the High Castle” envisions a world where the United States lost WWII, and Japan and Germany rule the country. Ahead of its Season 2 premiere, the streaming service released the first two minutes of the new episode, which shows student life in Nazi-ruled America.
The clip begins with Thomas (Quinn Lord), son of John Smith (Rufus Sewell) arriving to school. All seems normal as he walks through the hallways, enters his classroom, helps a buddy with a detail in early American history, and is then chosen to lead the Pledge of Allegiance.
“I swear I will observe the law, conscientiously fulfill my duties at home and school, be faithful and obedient, and pledge absolute allegiance until death to the leader of the Nazi Empire, Adolf Hitler,” the students recite.
